NOTE: There is ONE more live action remake that I like but forgot to mention, it would be Christopher Robin with Ewan McGregor as the main character. If I were to add it to the list, it would be on the same slot as Alice in Wonderland (2010).
I'm not joking when I'm saying this about 101 Dalmatians 1996; every time Cruella shows up on screen, I would copy what she says. The molasses scene still cracks me up. And I'll admit, I did shed a tear when Lucky was revived, and the music score for that scene was the icing on the cake.
Once again, I have to agree with the No. 1 spot on this list. The live action version of _101 Dalmatians_ is also my favorite live action remake. My favorite parts of that movie are when Horace and Jasper get put through the wringer as they try to go after the puppies in De Vil Manor, as well as Cruella herself when she tries to catch the puppies in the barn, and the part near the end when they show the puppies' reaction to Roger's newly completed game based on them (especially that one when his ears go up when they see Cruella). I also kinda like the sequel to it, _102 Dalmatians_ mainly with the scenes with the Orient Express and the part near the end when Cruella once again goes through the wringer in the bakery. And if you're planning on making more lists on Disney Movies, maybe you could do one on your favorite Disney live action movies, namely those that are their own original movies rather than being remakes of animated ones, such as _Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Swiss Family Robinson, The Great Locomotive Chase,_ and the _Apple Dumpling Gang_ movies.
MOHAMMED GEEDI: One of my all-time favourite Disney Live-Action Remakes that I have a massive guilty pleasure for in my personal opinion will be... (CUE VERY LONG DRUM ROLL, PLEASE) the 2019 live-action adaptation of "The Lion King."
Nice list. As someone who's reviewed a good chunk of the Disney live-action remakes from past to present, I will say this, I do believe the Disney live-action remakes can work and I do believe there are a good chunk of animated Disney movies that deserve the live-action treatment and could be done better like say, The Black Cauldron, or maybe Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Brave, or maybe, Meet the Robinsons, just to name a few. All of those when they came out do have massive flaws that almost derailed the flicks, but the remakes can fix them up to make them better. And I'll admit, the ones we got can be hit and miss, not to mention the changes they made and the remakes we got on the ones I do agree, felt unnecessary. And I do agree that there are some good ones we got. To me, I do think the 2016 Jungle Book remake is my all time favorite, and of course, Cinderella, Pete's Dragon, Christopher Robin, Cruella most of Aladdin are pretty good as well, and I'll admit I kinda like The Little Mermaid. Not fully, but kinda. The rest to me range from okay at best to just absolutely forgettable.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts! ☺ Oh, and I can't believe I have forgotten about Christopher Robin, which is another one of my favorite live action remakes!
👏👏👏👏👏👏 first of all, I absolutely love your intro with Thomas and Sora, two of my absolute favourite things of all time, so it’s nice to meet someone else who overall feels the same way! :-) Second of all, I completely agree with you about 101 dalmatians, as well as your feelings towards 102, also completely agree with you about that scene with lucky in 101! 😭😭😊😊😭😊The 102 dalmatians puppies to the rescue game is so much better, Highly recommend it! :-)
101 dalmatians with glenn close was amazing, perfect example on live action done right compare to the recent live action stuff they done, great review once again.
My personal live-action remake is The Jungle Book (2016). Though I do have a soft spot for the 1996 remake of 101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmatians is a guilty pleasure of mine.
In terms of the Disney live action movies that I have seen a couple years, it would be The Jungle Book 2016, Dumbo, Aladdin, the Lion King 2019, and The Little Mermaid 2023. I will be looking forward to the Mufasa the Lion King movie when it comes out.
Hey Trevor great choices for your top five live action remake Disney movies my favorites are the jungle book and beauty and the beast and both 101 and 102 Dalmatians live action movies with Glen Close’s brilliant performance as Cruella thanks for sharing this 👍❤️
I've met Helena Bonham Carter at a comic con in Liverpool believe it or not she was really popular but nice 2 meet at the same time. BTW i personally think 1 of the reasons they're making so many remakes is because Disney r running out of ideas.
I did like the live action remake of Cinderella, as well as Dumbo. But I didn’t like the live action Lion King, Mulan, or Aladdin. No offense, but I prefer the original animated versions of all these movies, but I will admit, not all remakes are bad. We still get good remakes from time to time. It's like reboots. Some are bad, but occasionally, there's a good one.
Would say the Disney remakes ruin anyone’s childhood or destroy the legacy of the original the originals still exist and is still there for us to watch
The reason they are controversial nowadays is because of the political correctness that was forced into entertainment by Disney, which is not a good thing because it can cause bankruptcy.
8:01 Not to mention, Kaa didn't get that much screen time unlike the original, Also the vultures from the original didn't appear in this remake either, How disappointing is that!
I don’t really like Will Smith’s Cover of “Friend like me”. No offense to him, but it’s DJ Khaled’s production that kind of ruined it in the live action remake
I’ll try to respect your opinion but I highly disagree with your thoughts on it because it’s basically a shot-for-shot remake of the original. At least most of the other remakes have a bunch of differences, but this one barely has any.
