hi, a year late but how did your charapita and habaneros do for you? I'm in a very similar area as you so wondering what varieties do well in our climate. Also have you ever started a fall crop? It's obviously already May so wondering if it's too late to start seedlings to get peppers this year. Any insight is appreciated.

@@jesusflores7323 you can definitely start seedlings still in may. You might want to give them a little protection if it’s already really hot as they start out. And you Likely won’t get a harvest until fall. The habaneros do great here, I get a lot off of my single plant. The aji charapitas were a fail for me I can’t get those to grow for me even indoors under lights, my seeds germinate but start struggling immediately. Most pepper varieties will do great in my climate I have great success with jalapeños and basically any anuum varieties

@@robertcuff5704 great because I went out yesterday and bought myself a packet of habaneros, jalapenos and bell peppers. I suspect the bell peppers are the least likely to thrive in such conditions but what the heck. If they die they die. Also got some datil pepper seeds on the way just to try something a bit out of the box from what I usually see. Another variety that peaked my interest were these cayenne x thai pepper hybrids but I think I'm already getting carried away with too many for a 1st try. As for protection I have a shade cloth already set up to allow only full sun in the morning then the sun is over the shade cloth but that didn't stop an early heat wave of 97* from cooking my baby cucumbers last month so we'll see.

Same here. I see his container plants and they all look amazing. Mine are all dead from white flies or whatever you call them.

@@doodahgurlie he can probably take a crap in a styrofoam cup from a gas station and have it produce a beautiful pepper plant. How does the average person do that? THey don't.

@@tbillyjoeroth Some people are just born with green thumbs. Sadly, I'm not one of them. :)

Set up a shade canopy high over them during the worst of the heat. Literal netting material will cut just enough of the sun’s blast to give them a relief.

Grow them in pots in the front yard, backyard or on a balcony. Still don't have anywhere? Try growing hydroponically all year round in a grow tent. You can do it, go for it!!!

@@Javajavajav Thank You! I learned my lesson this year on keeping a close watch for aphids. I waited too long before noticing them two different times. I first tried water and vinegar and that did not work so I tried dawn and water shaken into a bubble foam and sprayed but it took me a while to realize that you really do need to wipe and that worked just like you said but I did damage my plant because I think I sprayed too many times. If you have a suggestion on which of the plants in this video would work well in a 6 gallon container let me know. Also: My apartment area does get good direct sun but not all day. I look forward to trying next year!

@@Javajavajav Thanks so much. I learned al lot from you in only these two responses. If your plant gets aphids indoors; will they remain contained to just the plant> I ask because I have a empty bedroom that I would consider making a plant tent for if not for introducing bugs into my apartment.

@@Javajavajav permethrin. You can soak your clothes in it to keep mosquitoes away after you let it dry.
