I met ND at a masterclass she gave in Madrid when her brand arrived to Sephora Spain and I asked her if she would continue making pallets the same size as sunrise and she said YES! 😍😍😍
I love you passion when you talk about beautiful shadows. 😂 You should be a Natasha Denona or Pat McGRATH eyeshadow ambassador! You know how to sell these shadows! ❤️👏🏽👏🏽
Hey Alicia 🤗 Completely agree that we shouldn’t judge how or where we choose to spend our disposable income. Largely due to finances, I didn’t start wearing makeup until after age 50. When my eyes began to mature, I wanted to bring back shape, color and life to my eyes. Unfortunately, drugstore palettes and even some midrange palettes (UD Naked, TF Chocolate, Tarte, etc) were disappointing. Once I tried Viseart Neutral Matte + WG brushes, I finally got the depth of color and performance I wanted. Still thought shimmer would emphasize the texture until I told to try ND. Now with good firming eye creams and ND metallics, I enjoy wearing eye looks that I didn’t wear in my 20’s, 30’s & 40’s. Will I ever pay full price for a high end palettes? Not as long as there are VIB, Black Friday, Rewards Programs & Ebates/Rakuten 💵💵💵
I love this post. You just answered a question for me. Now I understand why some of my old fav palettes aren't working as well for me. I need better quality palettes and brushes at age 57, I'm just starting to show some texture on my lids.
Same same ❤️ Age 50, made mistakes giving into YT hype but then I got into Sonia G, WG, Viseart And PatM. And I am not going back. Nat D I will dip my toe in if she brings out Safari in that small $65 size. Viseart shimmers from their older collection dont seem to emphasize my texture. I love my Paris Nudes.
Janet J. I’m so glad this helped👏🏽. I didn’t realize how brushes can improve eyeshadow performance overall. And that natural goat hair brushes pick up and apply color more richly than synthetic. Thanks to Beautylish payment plan, I’ve also bought Sonia G and love those, too. But recently, I’ve tried Rephr and like these best of all. Because the bristles are soft AND stiff, I get better control when I move them over my “less than firm” lids and I can recreate an eye socket/crease🌺
Tina Ganguly Ditto! If I knew then what I know now, I could have saved so much time, money, wasted products and frustration. A few years ago, Viseart wasn’t trending on YT. Although I heard of it, I ignored it. Then MuseBeauty.Pro had their BTGT Viseart sale and that’s when I experienced the difference between palettes made for pro makeup artists and the stuff hyped on YT🌺
Thank you as always for your invaluable insights, Sheila!!! And I agree: I think the beauty space is full of young folk who can handle the cheaper brands, and demonize expensive makeup as being elitist and unnecessary. Which I understand if you don’t have the budget, and see someone talk about a ND palette your reaction might be negative. But even myself at 34, I understand the difference in performance, longevity, and color story. And that goes for brushes as well. And I also took advantage of the sale, per your suggestion back in my Sephora sale video and so happy I waited! Picked up the Milieu and Coy 😍
I don't leave lots of comments on RU-vid videos, but I have to say it's a pleasure to watch you! :) even if it's videos full of palettes I already have ahaha
I love Natasha denonas formula!! I really appreciate your point, I’d much rather buy 1 or 2 nd palettes per year than buying 10-15 of the colourpop palettes. No shame on those who do I’d just rather have the best quality for me rather than quantity. I really want the 28 pan green brown but I might have to grab safari since it’s listed as “limited edition “ and I’m worried that one day will just disappear 😂🙈
I get your point, but colourpop quality is also extremely good. So if you want tons of variety, they are great! If you have more of a "go to" look, your point is well-taken.
Yes, if it’s in your budget and you feel ND is best than I agree. Although Colourpop makes phenomenal eye shadows for the price. Ideally I would have both: ND might stay at home, and I’ll take Colourpop to travel.
OMG 28 browns and greens is my FAVORITE of hers!!! Its my #1. Safari is my #5, but my top five are all my favorites.🤣🤣 Yes. Grab Safari just cuz it might disappear soon, and the 28 pans are permanent. The green brown can be your next investment!!!😘😁
Your excitement about Lila had me smiling this am thanks for starting my day off with a smile!!!! BTW I have and love Sunrise because I haven’t had the heart to spend the 129
What’s crazy is I binged watched your Lila videos yesterday, fought hard to resist buying it and then you come out with this! Alicia you’re my pusher these days, you’re so convincing 🤑
I would say my most reached for ND palette is the 28-pan Purple/Blue palette. I’m always pulling shades out of there. The three shades you swatched from Safari are always the three I use. 😁
Love watching you so, much! I have both of her 28 eye shadow palette purple & blue an brown and green then her sunset palette and lila palette plus some of the 5 pan palette eyeshadows highlight & foundation an more
I never get tired of you ranking/ swatching/ doing tutorials or talking about Natasha Denona AND Pat McGrath!!! Please don’t ever stop doing different looks on any of ND and PM! 🤗 I actually use your videos for guidance when I’m doing my eyes so I can go out to a really nice place! I’ve been eyeballing BIBA for that cream to matte black and mustard yellow and SUNRISE for that orange deep color and the shimmer! #KinySweatSQUAD 👊🏿
have yet to try any ND palettes but i've had my eye on the sunrise one. may consider picking it up during the next rouge sale. I would love to see your top 5 ABH palettes if you haven't done that already. I just picked up the JA palette and I think that might be a new addition to my top 5
I really can't recommend Sunrise enough! I was surprised how much I liked it as my first ND palette, but there's something about the shadows & color scheme that are just stunning. The size/price is just an extra benefit, but I really do feel like it's a palette that's complementary and can be manipulated to make a number of interesting eye looks, especially if you're a fan of warm tones.
It's my only ND palette and it is just so stunning. Every time I open mine I swoon. The color scheme is stunning and I personally love the formula and how the shadows perform(minus one).
I have no Natasha Denona palettes, but I have been obsessively watching your reviews and I've decided on the Sunrise palette. I could never use up an entire $129 palette. I also want the tiny nudes palette. Thank you for all your hard work. You are my favorite to watch for eyeshadow looks because you are so detailed. Please never give up your format for new palette swatch and reviews! They could be 1 hour long and I'd watch every second.
First of all, this eye look is 🔥🔥🔥 I feel you on using disposable income on makeup, I generally do the same. Makeup is my favorite! I'm on a spending freeze right now though, my sis in law and I both turn 30 the beginning of October so we're planning a girl's trip!
@@aliciaarcher We're still debating between Calgary or Seattle. Either way I'm excited! It'll be the first birthday I've done anything for since I turned 21 🥳🥳
Lila is my favorite palette!!! I agree with you. Is the best of Natasha Denona. More neutral than people think. And for brown eyes.. girl... is perfection.
Came here after watching the natasha denona black friday video. I was really afraid of the lila palette BUT after watching this video I pulled the trigger. Now I have sunrise, sunset AND lila. thank you for making these videos. so enjoyable. so informative. THANK YOU!!!
Alicia, do know I now call the ND Biba palette "The BBQ" and I owe it all to you my friend. 😸😆 Example; my friend called me and asked me if I wanted to take a ride to Sephora with her to pick up Biba. I said "oh yea, the bbq is a nice neutral palette". I was met with silence on the other end. 📱🙃😂 For a moment I had forgotten she doesn't follow the Beauty Community on RU-vid. So I told her about you. She laughed herself silly and said, OMG, she's right! It does look like bbq colors. If Natasha lowered her price on the five pan palettes from $49 to $35, I'd be all over them. Look, I'm aware her formula is well above average but $10 bucks an eyeshadow is too steep for me. I feel the bigger value lies in her 15 pan palettes. Thankyou Baby Pat. I'm surprised the baby Nude Palette wasn't on your list. Seems like sooo many people are crazy for that one.
I am currently panning the Lila palette this year for my panthatpalette project. I've been using the Lila palette daily for the past few months and getting a bit bored out of it. Watching your utter passion for the Lila palette is infectious and inspiring!
You deserve way more viewers! I have been watching your videos for a while, and you are very articulate and I love the way you explain how to use the palettes properly. That matte and shimmer tone matching for the Lila palette was extremely helpful. Definitely subscribed!
Your enthusiasm is fantastic! Yeass LILA AND SUNRISE!! THEN GIVE ME CIRCO AND THE PASTEL PALETTE IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! SAFARI AND RETRO JUSSST WOWZAH-- ALL MY FAVORITES
I wanted Lila for a while and I love warm tones so I did pick up the bundle with Lila and sunset. Ty for always revisiting older palettes and breaking theM down the way you do 😘
I agree with you on thr minj nude I absolutely loveeee it. I keep it in my gym bag because i shower at the gym at least once a week before work in the morning and and its awesome. Those shades are absolutely beautiful in low lighting too you can see so many different colors in the glitters from the gold shade.
Hahahaha you are amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video and totally agree on that Lila palette. :) I can't wait to see you do more stuff with metropolis and the gold palette bc they're in my cart, but I'm not fully sold yet...
Absolutely love the passion and humour you show in your videos. Lovely. And about Natasha Denona, that black shade in Biba fell out of my palette and fell apart:( .I wrote to them sending a photo. And guess what... They send this shade to me withing few days- for free!!!
I love how enthusiastic you are about your eyeshadow palettes! My top 5 Natasha Denona Palettes (I am missing all of the minis, Sunrise,Biba, and Safari) are 5) Gold 4)Lila 3)Star 2) Sunset 1) Green/Brown
Every time you review Lila I want to buy it despite the fact that I know purple is my least favorite color lol. I really enjoy how you go into depth about the formulas and your overall impressions on each palette. I really hope she considers making a smaller/more updated version of her green-brown palette at some point, or even a olive-toned palette. I really enjoy her formula and would love to see her take on those color schemes.
YES! This is coming in handy ... bout to buy the Sunrise palette so it's good to hear your opinion as you are my go to on Mother Pat and Natasha Denona (Goss and Sonia GEEEEEE brushes)
I love the Lila palette too! It snuck up on me just how quickly it became my favourite palette in my collection of palettes. Love your tutorials on palettes we might have in our collection already. You're magnificently real :-)
Yessss! Love this! I couldn't choose between Biba or Sunrise. I LOVE LOVE ND's formula. I would definitely rather have a few of her palettes than tons of others. However, I do like to purchase Colourpop to get some seasonal pops of color. Their monochromatic palettes are wonderful for that. I can't wait for the sale to pick up another pallete!
As one individual said ND will be maki g smaller palettes. Yay! I think the Biba and Sunset palettes are my favs. I'm not a purple fan but that's me. Thanks for reviewing.
Your passion and creativity for eyeshadow is why I love and return to your channel (and why my wallet side-eyes me constantly, ha)! I ❤️ my Gold and Biba palettes, they are perfection. I could talk ALL day about the gorgeous color stories and how effortless they are. ND truly puts thought into her palettes, there is a rhyme and reason to why these colors are combined the way they are in palette, and I love that. I have my eye on Lila (love me some purple!), Safari, and Tropic next. And yes, I too was one of those who scoffed at spending more than $10 on eyeshadows...till I got Gold and had to eat my words and hop the stan train for ND. As long as I feel I'm getting my money's worth and such products bring me joy, I'm good on spending a little extra coin if I have it. Great top 5 girl!
The Lila palette is the only full size that I have thanks to sephoria. I had the tropic but took it back due to sealing. I like the surprise sunset palette to
I was debating like forever about the Lila pallet.. do I purchase ? After seeing this video, it’s a resounding YES!! Those purples, those neutral shades are perfect!! And a easy eye look with a couple of those shaded? yes, yes, yes!! I do believe this will be a wise purchase! Thanks so much Alicia!
My fav is the camel palette. It is that steady palette that you can dress up or down with just that palette. Plus I'm a neutral girl (age = crinkly droopy eyelids). Following that it would be the Gold, Lila, Safari. I can tell you my absolute worst palette of all time out of my entire collection no matter the brand is the Tropic palette. Great pics!
I just ordered Lila off Beautylish I’ve always been drawn to it but your video sealed the deal. And I’m going to subscribe. Thanks for making this video. Can’t wait to get the palette.
Thank you for this. I share your love for Pat, but I found Natasha is also to love. Looking forward to your video for Pat’s Mothership 6 😍 as I think I don’t need it, but want to want it!
I have Started watching your channel the last several months, and I love your personality, your reviews and honest advice. I appreciate you and your energy and knowledge 💯. Especially on the 24 pallet Natasha denona and Lila, Star.. yes,I believe I decided to get the 24 pallets because I got then both for less then one. And I don't do anything for myself like yourself, makeup is my jam.
That comment about Lyria was spot-on. That colour alone makes the Coral palette much more usable for me than the Sunrise. Otherwise I tend to dip into the Mini Nude to make the Sunrise more workable for me. :)
I always enjoy your videos Alicia. The Safari palette is my favorite. I love all the different color mattes and I just add a metallic from a different palette.
I love listening to you talk about the Natasha Denona palettes!! Biba is my fave, I can’t get enough of it!! 😍😍😍 Lila is 2nd fave 💜 I agree about loving the Sunrise more than Sunset, I never use Sunset. I don’t have Safari, I think I need it!! Ohh & I’ve wanted the 28 pan green & brown palette foreverrrrr!!!! Ohh also, I love your explanation for spending such high amounts of money on makeup, I have very little money so people think it’s absolutely ridiculous that I have these expensive palettes (well a lot of people don’t know hahah) but I don’t spend money on ANYTHING ELSE!! I have cheap clothes & not a lot. I never go out. I don’t buy bags, purses or shoes. Never buy jewellery. I do my own hair. I never get beauty treatments done. I’m a nail tech & do my own nails, I’m doing beauty school & we do treatments on each other. So despite having not much money, expensive palettes are my THING & I’m unapologetic about it 😜😜😜
This video convinced me to get Lila and I love, love, love it. One eyeshadow looks with this palette are amazing. #Natashadenona needs to put you on their PR list.
Wow. How did I never see this video of yours? LOL now I need to get this bad boy! I didn’t think I needed this pallet of hers. I have almost all the rest of hers but now I need this one too!❤️
Alicia!!! I've stared at Lila since it came out. But I never really saw how she had the tonal mattes and shimmers. Fuuuuudge Lila might be my first Natasha Denona eyeshadow purchase.
I couldn't agree with you more, Lila is so beautiful, there really isn't another palette like it. Love this video!! I am one who got a very bad Safari and I was ok not having it when i returned it, now your making me want to order it again.
Oh the Lila! I'm debating between that & the gold. Thing is, I think the Lila has tones that work w/ my skin & I would get the most use out of. But I want to try the Gold because I hear over & over, that palette is her magic formula of perfection. Plus I love that green gold duo chrome. I do hope she does the small palettes. Those big one's are more shadow than I'll ever use. Hehe my laundry consist mostly of work out clothes. Makeup is where I like to indulge. Chosen vice. Thanks! Excellent review.
