speaking of refunds. I bought the farrari evo and fiji race course and didnt get on with either so i reached out to iracing for a refund and they refunded my money back into credits. Remeber by UK law that even digital items if they are not fit for purpose you are allowed to get a refund if not then paypal will lol
Mount Washington ain't making my list, I love driving around it every so often but they do need to improve FPS. I don't really have a top 5 worst/best content purchases because I usually race with most of them atleast try to. I do own probably 85% of the content, mostly waiting for AI for most of the content.
If you want to get some value out of the V8 supercar, do the Bathurst 1000 special event in September. Gave me the motivation to (somewhat) tame this thing and it was so satisfying to do
5 - Formula Renault 3.5 Never raced it. dont like it. 4 - Formula Renault 2.0 again, never raced it, dont like it. 3 - McLaren GT4, Don't like how it drive's. 2 - Subaru RX, Never raced it. the beetle is fine. 1 - Audi R18 Hate it. Porsche is way better
Some series should have 1.5x or 2x SR and IR boosts, maybe for when a new car comes out or just to bring up participation. Artificial? Maybe but would bring some variety to the racing that we see.
5.- w12 and w13, love the car but i dont enjoy racing only 5 guys 4.- indycar, i only bought it for indy500 3.- BMW hybrid, hate the brakes of that thing 2.-porsche gte, i have never touch it in an oficial race 1.- mission R 🤡
I have a few which I barely touched or for which my skills are just not good enough. Did some unnecessary shopping, hence a list of cars and one of tracks .. 1. Chevy Monte Carlo (Late Model) I started to like short ovals with the modified series, tried out late model, it's just not for me, never did any race. 2. BMW M4 GT4, bought it coz I thought of doing GT4 races, I never did :-). 3. FR 3.5, I was never skillful enough, although I enjoyed some practice sessions. 4. Dallara IR-01, cannot find races, although I kinda like to drive it. 5. Aston Martin GT1, drives nicely, just never had the time to be fast in it. My 5 tracks: 1. LA coliseum, never did a race there, can't find any. 2. Martinsville/Rockingham/Richmond, brought for one race each, just not worth it. 3. Sonoma, I am really bad at it so I never race it, I knew I'm not good, still bought it..
Aston and Porsche GT4's, Elsntra, Huracan GT3, Ford and Chevy 87's, and the W12. Tbh I hate how you can't paint the W12 and that makes it on the worst purchases for me
Gt4 class and Mission R : different reason than you though... only C and D class races and with a 1200ir, sof doesn't make for the cleanest races.Aston Martin makes that list cus not enough races. Also that dallara was horrible. Haven't driven it since, wish I could trade it in😃
Hello and welcome, 10+ years here Cars I HATE Audi 90 GTO Dirt Late Model and Dirt UMP Sprint Car (pavement) V8 Super Cars Tracks Nurburgring (the set) just my view
I've also purchased I dont know how many cars that you can never get a populated race and series that never have anyone joining them iracing should just remove them and give people their money back Just wish they had a 15 min trial for cars and track to see if you like it/them
I have to agree the inconsistency with giving new content for free if you own the previous version is annoying. The only way I know you can test new cars is when the service is in maintenance but this happens mostly when in quieter hours when most don't get a chance to use this service so annoying once again
I understand totally why you dislike the FR3.5 ...interesting fact : that's exactly the same points making me liking it a lot^^ haha same for GT4 XD We share same passion for F1, so it's IMO very interesting to see diferent pov, totally opposite on some points, finally rejoining in some others ;) My personal worst 3 purchases is : 3. BMW M8 GTE (never runed an official GTE race, but was on the mood of having everything, so I buyed eveything....that was stupid, I never drove this car, even in a practice) 2. Dallara IR01 ( ....dont really understand for whom they did this car, not for me for sure^^...did 1 only race, won, it, but that was ridiculous, everybody was out^^) 1. Porsche Mission R (too much weight, that's everything but a racing car....no matter electric or else...just, zero pleasure, that's not racing)
I know you hate the F3.5. it's certainly marmite but it took me quite a while to get comfortable with this but now I am used to it one of my favourites on the platform.
LMP2, LMDh (so far), porsche 911GT3R (i cant drive this thing... Sorry. love it, but its awfull to drive), formula 3.5, and dallara F3. I understand why people dont like GT4, tho, i love it as a more GT guy, and it is a great basis to drive and make only bits of setup where GT3, GTE, and GT1 require A LOT more. And i love how those can be muscle races like tcr. Its nice. There is not much track i own i didn't like... Love them all... but i m really picky compare to cars where i got carried away. i tried porsche Mission R. Its mind blowing. in Quali its brutal. But its hard to drive because we have to convert our drivestyle. That said, i drove it on nords, and it was really dope. but not enough to buy it ^^
Alright P5 Monza😂 (never got to finish a race there) P4 Mclaren GT4 (just don't like to drive it at all) P3 Phillip Island (Hate it, just pure hate) P2 Old Pcup (Never driven in an official because of missing skills at that time) P1 919 (Didn't touch it once in any prac. Session😅
w12, one week before the w13 came out! (had just returned to iracing after a year's absence) Also, IR-01, undriveable when it came out and now pretty dead for participation I believe...
Looking this to make wise purchasing decisions, THANK YOU for mentioning how awful Daytona is. Americans won't like to hear it but that track is so boring. I'm in the infield and think "oh that's not too bad" and then 20 seconds later I'm back in the fucking Oval. No flow whatsoever, such an overrated track. I sometimes think we need more split series like F4 Regional does. Not enough participation in formula cars but it might be worth a try for GT3. Let Americans vote their darlings while we race on proper European classic racetracks.
Iracing should have a trial period on its content. Even if it's only for a hour or so. Myself have regrets on some of the cars and tracks I have purchased.
When they are updating the service you can go into test sessions while it's under maintenance and try the content you don't own but only during that time
@@stuffeyy it put me off GT classes for ages after I got out of Rookies. I really enjoy GT3 racing and got to it eventually, but avoided it for so long because the GT4 was so bad back when it was just the BMW.
Personally i don't think the purchase is bad if I had fun at least in test drives. I mean it's only 10$... I bought both F1 Merc previous and current one and barely had races in the official series but had tones of fun wiping them around Nords in test. I bought V8s months ago and had one (first) race in them yesterday but i still think it was good to learn the car in test drive cause of how different it is from other "body" classes in iR. None of the purchases are bad if they gave you something. The only bad purchase if you bought it and never touched but i think nobody would do that.
and salaries in Russia are small af compared to iR pracing (and rest of the world) and i still think it's affordable to try something new once in a while
As you say I think its all down to your own personal expectations and levels in regards to what you judge as a poor purchase or not. In my 'How much have I spent' video, if you break the cost of it down to per month, it is more than a fair amount for the level enjoyment I get from the platform and content
3 - Formula Renault 2.0. Did 2 races. Caused a turn 1 crash in the first and finished last in the 2nd after being several seconds of the pace. Never touched it again. 2 - Milwaukee Mile and Richmond Raceway. Bought them so I had some more oval tracks. Haven't raced either of them. 1 - Nascar Cup Car. Bought it and never raced it and it has since been replaced. Thankfully not too many but still plenty of money down the drain.
Generally for me to regret having bought a car it has to be something I just find insanely boring to drive, and thus far I believe the only car that really applies to for me is the Aston Martin GT4. Bought it since I had no GT4's and wanted to try, terribly uninteresting to drive and I never wanted to race it lol. There's other cars I bought outright with no intention of racing it that I don't necessarily regret buying as I'll jump into them and do some hot laps periodically for the random fun of doing something different. That Mission R car being one of them, never raced it, not even during W13 when it launched. But I have taken it for a spin several times. Besides the GT4 my second biggest waste is probably the next gen Nascar car. I don't really care much for the oval racing but decided to give it a go, for some reason wanted to try the new Nascar and that was it. I basically don't touch the thing. The Daytona road course is boring though indeed, generally I'm not really a fan of any of the oval road courses, but yeah, definitely boring :D
A few arguments with your picks just because I want these opinions out there: I’d argue the IR-01 is worse than Mission R and Mission R should drop to 3rd since both #2 and #3 have no more official races thus invalidating their existence except in private leagues. Daytona is an extremely valuable track in the same way Charlotte is (even if it’s free) with the amount of track layouts and series ran. If you’re getting into any of the asphalt series it’s a necessary pickup
@@stuffeyy Hey Scott, been awhile since we’ve communicated. I test drove both F3’s and 3.5’s and the 3.5 is far more realistic to the real thing. I mentioned on your other vids a while back I was an IndyCar test driver years ago and without question the most realistic car on IRacing is the IR-18, HANDS DOWN. The only thing missing is feeling g-forces, which I’m sure someone is trying to figure out 😉
I also own the 3 GT4 cars you mentioned. when I started it seemed like it was mandatry to drive the IMSA Michellin Pilot Challenge together with the Audi RS3 at the time. From my experience it was the only multiclass series whee you had to own all cars to take part and i think they even changed it after a while. BUt yeah thats why I own them and I will never buy another GT4 car. If I want to race GT4 I'll take one of them.
@@stuffeyy You did try it after the tires update right? (like a year ago or so) FR3.5 was shit in terms of tire grip in the past, it was like driving on ice all the time (which I personally loved as a challenge for my throttle control skills) but then they put the new tyre model on this car and it became a blast (quoting a lot of people), insane amount of grip all around. If you didn't drive it since the update you should definitely check it out, it's like F3 on steroids now.
@@kiekiek I am just not going to race it too much hence why I regret it. I like the FW31, MP4-30 and W12 but the W13 for me is a little less enjoyable, it feels a bit sluggish and clumsy in the slow stuff and the DRS is way too powerful. In the end of the day I am not forced to run any series and if I want to run a high downforce formular car I will run the IR-18 in officials. Out of all the modern scanned F1 cars it's my least favourite.
The Mission R’s biggest problem is its quali mode. That should be the mode we race in. It’s no different to the other cars without it. But races in quali mode would be fantastic.
