Man its so wholesome that you just have Alexander doing yoyo tricks. Your channel is such a nice refuge from the toxic stuff on RU-vid. Your videos have helped me put on so much mass over the past year and a half. Damn hero
My favorite parts of his videos are when he says "I just kinda always felt like..." because that's always a seasoned pro tip and often answers something I've wondered about
It’s so freakin weird when he says that. Its always something I thought about for a long time , but was never sure of the answer. Its like he’s a mind reader.
Most videos like this, I’d just like to see a list & time stamps. But with John, one thing I really love is his commentary / insight. So I’m always here for the full video
This man is a library of excersise sets. I've used many of John's examples especially the ones with the tris becsue my elbows are sore and man this guy is a gem, they work they get your muscle.pumping and I'm always always down for new ways to push my muscles
Thank you john for all you are still doing in helping us understand how to stay healthy by working out the proper way and safely most of all being a great father and family man you are awesome I am blessed for having to have found you RU-vid channel o know you are with the lord but you are with us also. Every one need to tell someone about the great John meadows and subscribe to his channel John should have been over one million plus subscribers by now thanks John.
After 45 plus years of lifting weights, resistance bands are my new best friend. They haven't replaced iron but they have definitely helped my joints etc to cope with, unfortunately for the time being, greatly reduced weight.... Ps Mountain Dog.... Still my favourite RU-vid influencer. By far. No one else comes close 👍
Spongy grips .. spongy grips ... love when he says spongy grips. Truth is, again, had not seen them used before John. Reverse grip, 2 -handed grip extensions. I use the cables for warmups before close-grip bench presses and then, again, in the 'max-pump' phase. And Alex, how about we name your trick after you .. the 'An Alexander double out and back'.
At 2:35, John, try those bad boys facing away from the pulley. That's been a favorite for a while. Across the body, you're reaching with your right hand over your left shoulder. Tremendous stretch I've used all these with great results. Pressing movements kill me so I've learned to become creative with cable, dumbbell and machine exercises
Besides skull crushers I use almost 100% cable work for my triceps. A broken elbow as a teen caused me to have to get creative. Alexander, the yo-yo trick should be called “The Meadows Knot”. 🤘🤘
To save joints and spine I have been following Brignole method, Physics of Resistance Excercise. I am now a "cable guy" with good results. Great video, Thanks 😊 🏊♂️🏋️♂️🏃♂️
Everyone's different, i tried cables last month as you said, and hurt my elbows, I had to be out of the gym for a week, and yes I use the correct form. I've been training for over 40 years
taking an entire cable crossover for a standing rope extension exercise . Only a mountainous jacked guy like you can do that. Guys like us, we would be probably beaten up in the gym itself. LOve your content you are awesome
Hi John the name of exercise number 6 is a crucifix tricep extension originally done with a chest expander you can also use a resistance band or a high pulley just as you demonstrated stay safe and healthy
Watched last video ✅ Watched this video ✅ waiting on next video ✅ Thanks John enjoying the vids! Can you do one for all the different ways to grow the brachiradialis?
Our state shut down again and I tested positive. The thing is till the 16th I'm in quorintene. But I'm at home pushing and pulling my own weights.??? Have no idea if it was a falls test. Bu I have a welder and I'm not afraid to use it😃 I'm going to have to make my own stuff to work with. Tendonitis in one elbow makes triceps a little harder. Just made my own leg extension attachment for my bench
61 years old and never got anything much out of cables . I have found just 2 or 3 different things for my triceps with free weights does the trick. And over the years I've tried different things and ways to workout. But that's just my opinion. French Curls with a straight bar standing, skull crushers, and I do a something laying on my back on the bench with a straight bar and lowering the weight towards the ground behind my head stretching out the long head of the tricep and I keep the weight a little light to get some good reps in till they are burning.
Awesome! I did this today mixing the biceps with it in a High Intensity Training format a la Arthur Jones/Ellington Darden. Started out with the standing bicep curl, one set to failure, then straight into the tricep press down which was easy to transition into the rope hammer curl. All these exercises can transition very quickly to assemble a circuit or superset or, a HIT workout as I did. Nice way to mix it up. Great stuff as always John.
I use to have major elbow pain when I was working out. After going to physical therapy for a few weeks, I found out I was unconsciously using a death grip while driving. Once I stopped my death grip, my elbow pain went away. Sometimes pain is caused by habits outside the gym moreso what was happening in the gym.
I didn't know John passed away 2 years ago! Life has been unfair since the beginning of time, it seems. What a kind man this guy was. I was wondering why I haven't seen any more new vids of him. Rest easy, big guy 😔🙏
Great excercises John, but you gotta out face pulls in there! I switched to cables for a lot of accessories now cause like you said it puts very little stress on the joints.
Hey John, I really like the overhead crossover move for Tri's. I have a name for it; "Marshaller". Whenever you were doing the exercise, I thought to myself, it looks just like the signal that an airport Mashaller does for directing aircraft on the ground. That's what it should be called :)
