Hey King! One of the creators here, thank you kindly for mentioning Eye of Zamrock once again! It's always a pleasure to hear your opinion on our game!
The minis of the Dead Keep, if they keep enough detail, are going to be some of my favorite miniatures ever. Pity that I'm not super into the Zombicide system, I would've preferred something more akin to Cthulhu DMD.
I have most (about 80%-ish) or all Marvel United stuff and it's a blast to play. We had a couple month period with family, where every weekend we played roughly 5-8 games every weekend! It's just that good! We played one, we lost, so we had to try again or with different heroes, etc. So much fun!
Man I’m glad you are back but I had just convinced myself not to back the Dead Keep (which for a CMON lover like me was hard) but now I want to get it again. On DC United all I can say is I have had Marvel United for about 2 years and have 30+ plays I don’t have a single other kickstarter that hits the table as often as this one. It is super easy to setup and plug and play different characters. Also on the storage front I threw out pretty much all the expansion boxes if you bag the chonky chibis you can fit it all in the base box plus the stretch goal box
The one thing I'll add is that if you have the full Marvel United, there's enough content in there for hundreds if not thousands of games. And that's without the third wave content. I would imagine you could get the characters you want and the villains you want instead of going all in an feel completely satisfied.
@@jokerES2 I think I am just going to get the base pledge of DC and that is it just so I can have Batman and some of the classic DC characters. Because you are right I definitely don’t need another all in I have hundreds of characters already
I'm extremely hyped for Dead Keep. The art is amazing and the minis renders capturing it so close is just fantastic! Excited to try and paint them with lots of brighter colors, and maybe try some colored underpainting like I've seen a few creators do (Craftworld Studios to a crazy level, and Ninjon and Caffeinated Miniatures for more achievable but still with results beyond my current skill! haha) . The fact that it looks like a solid evolution of Zombicide as well is just icing on the zombie cake. I was excited for Clan Wars but it's basically just another 1vMany. For some reason I thought each player controlled a small squad. I don't see it getting my money, especially with what is coming in June (Blood, Grimcoven, and Mythic Battles Isfet).
I'm a big fan of Cysmic and been playing it on TTS. Every play has been a fantastic time. Really want to see King get his hands on a prototype! Also LOL at the Euro token swap 😂
I had similar feelings toward the United games, but it's one of my favorite game series after playing it. It's such a good game for kids and those that you are trying to introduce to board games.
Same. I passed on the original campaign for the same reason as money but after the reviews dropped, i checked it out. Went all-in on Xmen and base pledged (plus a bit) for Multi-verse. I'm not nearly as into DC as I am Marvel, but I expect I'll try and grab the base pledge as it often comes with so many villain's and they are the real variety of the game (though the heroes are definitely more varied then they appear at first glance).
@@TheKingofAverage You probably will have that feeling. 😂 I had zero intention of backing the Mutliverse season and ended up grabbing it all because we like the game so much. I'm going to attempt to avoid going all-in with DC, but we'll find out.
Great to see you back King! With DC United, it is a fun game and those chibi minis are sooooo fun to paint 👍 P.s. good to see you excited about the dead keep also! All other RU-vidrs have been quite I excited about it???
I was hesitant on Dead keep, doesn't like too much zombicide, but those minis are amazing! And as for DC United,as a looong time DC fan I definitely can't pass on this one,my daughter loves already Marvel United, this one will introduce her to many more heroes!
"Knut - that would be pronounced something like "C-nou-t" (sharp ck-sound at the beginning like "coffin" and enlongated "o" sound like in "you".. an old german or northgermanic name... apparently derived from a word which means "knot"
One game you didn't cover that I'm backing is Children of Morta. Its based off a vid game Ip, board has some interesting unique character mechanics with card play and bag building. No mini's but it looks more like a cool co-op card game.
Marvel United is definitely a light game, but I found it surprisingly fun, especially as a family game. There's just enough depth to it to keep my interest over multiple plays. Plus it plays very fast, we often knock out 3 games in about an hour.
So dc united.... super light game. I'm not a fan or the gameplay, but i do like the chi-bi modesl. I use them for the fantasty flight marvel games to make thier hard games more childish and fun. Good lord those fantasy flieght marvel game never let you feel like you have a super power because you get beat to a pulp. I do wish we can get a standee verison of the game and spend 1/2 or the cost.
I can't help with the feeling you looked at some campaigns for the first time in this video (e.g. MotU Battlegrounds). Guess it will take some time till you are back on your high quality and information we were blessed with before your move. Take your time. But happy you are back ❤
Man I spent hours reading campaigns :D funny enough though battlegrounds I did only skim over as I covered it before. I'll take a deeper look though! Normally on top of the hours of reading campaigns are reading comments, emails and discussions around games over time too. I'll get there I promise!
Ha ha! CMON United sucker punched ya! 😛 I know exactly what you're saying re: Chibi style - I wasn't sold on it at all and in fact completely and very purposefully overlooked Marvel United Season 1 and 2. However, when Season 3 landed, I confess my interest was piqued and, though I knew it was dangerous, I just had to investigate further and...wouldn't you know, gosh darn it, the system is absolutely solid! Short standalone gameplay, for me the theme really comes through (with the special actions, etc.), even more so the villains! Of course, I had to then cough up extra mulla to acquire everything S1 and S2 ahead of S3 arriving!!! 😆🤪 Looking forward to DC...for whatever reason, although I like the generally darker "themescape" (for lack of a better phrase), I preferred Marvel to DC but hey, In truth, I love Supers in general! Looking forward to seeing what their latest offering brings (and figuring out where the heck to store everything!!! 🤑
I keep going back and forth with The Dead Keep. I like the art, but I can't seem to justify the game itself. It's giving Zombicide meets Massive Darkness 2 and I have both those games already. I'll probably pass. The Thinning Veil that's launching isn't the same game they tried on Kickstarter. It's a solo only... Kinda sample game? They still have the original game coming up later on Gamefound assuming this one is successful. I'll likely pass on this one too after my experience on the first campaign they burned some bridges. I'm thrilled that I didn't like the chibi style, so DC United was an easy pass. Besides, they already got me for Marvel Zombies and DCeased. 😆 I've been backing a lot less since last fall. I can't keep justifying tons of big games anymore, so I'm looking for any excuse to tell myself no. Going to be difficult with Grimcoven and Blood coming up though, since the aesthetics are absolutely appealing to my Goth girl interests. 😅
I liked the look of Thinning veil, not sure I like the look of the one they are about to release, I hope it does well for them though. I might back Thinning veil when they release it again. That dead keep I keep looking at it and thinking naaah. so fed up of Zombicide stuff now.
Normally I would've backed Dead Keep just because it was similar to Zombicide, but they priced me out of it. $160? I probably would've jumped for $100-110....not $160 plus the ridiculous shipping..
Dc united is taking my money. They've improved the United system 3 times now (adding some complexity but more importantly added more choices). Looks like this time they are adding more mechanics too. Plus DC >>> Marvel so this + Dceased will be amazing in the next couple years
CMON......nowaday gaming design which most of Ks pledge are lack of play style that they made it similar as zombicide term, as we feels tired of getting same mode play where minis still looks great. And i usually chose not to be purchase any similar play mode board gaming....ever be selectives. 🤔
Not slapping the Zombicide name on the Dead Keep kept it from not being a home run campaign. There woulda been so much more adoption if it had been a zombicide game…
Er....it's a pre-order not a campaign, I don't think you can even see how many people backed it can you? Nope, just checked, so your comments about success are kinda nonsensical.
He's not wrong. As a pre-order it doesn't show how much it's made or how many people have pre-ordered it and it doesn't seem CMON has released those numbers either. So your statement is just a guess without facts
