Hello Tom, Fantastic loved this , i also have never heard of Divis amazing views Belfast really need to promote this , I would love to do a tour on the HMS Caroline i think I told you my Grandfather on my Mother's side was also at the battle of Jutland on the HMS Canada . I remember my last trip to Belfast i took Marieta there for 2 days it is a lovely city we need to come back and follow your tour :) you have so many hidden gems . Thanks Tom we enjoyed this over our early morning coffee .
Wow! Shaun. Your grandfather was at the battle of Jutland! It was a scary place to be. The UK fleet armour was thin and shells penetrated it with ease. Ships were literally blown to bits. The HMS Caroline is a must see. It is the battle of Jutland's last survivor. Walking down below is eerie. The battle is played out on a big screen in the drill hall in darkness. The sound is deafening. Wow watching my video over morning coffee! I'm honoured to be at your breakfast table! lol
Watched this on telly last night Tom, I think that's a good top 10,and I would agree about leaving out the Titanic Quarter popular as it may be. When Anne and I came over in 2014 I couldn't wait to see it but now having been round it we wouldn't go again I think once you have been there isn't really much point in a second visit. Now the transport museum is a different kettle of fish and we didn't know it even existed and that will be on the card's when we get the chance to get back. Since we joined your channel your video's have opened up so much more of Ireland to visit places and site's we probably would otherwise never have even heard of. Great stuff Tom and may it long continue.
You've probably seen this wee transport museum video Chris but I'll send it anyway. This is the bottom half of the Ulster Folk and Transport museum. I've sent a few more related ones. Yes I simply cannot understand our N I Tourist people ignore so much of what we have. They simply rest on their laurels. The west of N Ireland is largely ignored in promotionals and the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum is completely ignored. Their Titania museum is usually empty even though I think it is well worth going to again and again. The Titanic Exhibition is a one time visit only. It caters for the American and Far Eastern visitors. I found it was far too slick modern and artificial. But then I like old things! lol Ulster Transport Museum Classic Car and Motorcycles ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SujYATEM6dc.html I thought you might like this one too. Yes Thanks for these Tom i have seen them before and it is great to see them again, have you heard anything about H.M.S. Caroline? By the way new mudgard looks well, and new front brakes will be a big help as well they do come in handy when you want to stop, LOL.
Oh dear Chris the old memory is totally shot. I can't remember what I've sent you! lol No not a word as to the HMS Caroline. It is a disgrace. Our media are staying quiet too. I wonder why. finger tip stopping power on the brakes Chris. This mudguard will not break like the cheapo plastic ones. But you get what you pay for.
Great Job Tom . Next visit home gotta go up that black mountain, And cave hill.things we all take and took for granted. I’m sure many a people went through their whole life’s and never ventured up these wonderful places right outside their own doorstep. Probably no way of getting up there if you lived across town . Keep up the good work.👍☘️🇬🇧🇨🇦
Hi again YB. The Black mountain is fantastic but as you say most Belfast people have never ventured up there along the boardwalk or climbed the rise up to Divis. If you are going make sure it is a dry clear day to get the views. Yes you have to drive up to Hannahstown north of the city to get to the entrance. It is so well worth it though. Many thanks for all your encouragement.
