Another problem with that impacting air ratchet is grease gets in the veins losing power. My Matco tool dealer has seen this a few times.I agree on the Turbo type sockets have a few sets saving time. There is new technology in the impact swivels, going pinless and has a lot of advantages over the pin design.Matco,Armstrong,Craftsman,Proto and now Gearwrench use it.SK is going to it also.Full 360 degree turn, don't lose power with the impact are two advantages of the pinless design.I have the Matco impact swivels, love them.Mac did try it first in the 1970s or 1980s,it was a flop and did not work right. Not cheap either too,$500.00 each for my 1/2 drive metric and sae set.
Have you ever heard of the "load pro" the maker of the tool got screwed by snap on....... great tool. check it out I'm not getting payed to advertise just think its worth a shit
Like your universals impact 1/2 and 3/8 Matco makes a 1/2 in drive but takes a 3/8 socket. Makes getting bellhousing bolts that suck to try and clear a body seam like s-10's really easy. I haven't broke one yet but have worn a couple out.
l like that 3/8 impact ratchet, and the blatter tool, as far as scotty kilmor, that guy gives a ton of bad info, seems like he looks up a topic half assed then makes a vid, but he is popular l give him that,
+1 It's getting to where if I have to sit thru more than 10 seconds of the presenter's selfie on a flailing hand-held camera, I'm moving on. Tripods cost $20 - $30. Thanks for putting videos up, they're for the most part fun to watch (why I subscribe).
I realize this video is a couple of years old, but with regards to this, not much has changed. I really appreciated how you showed the tool, showed how it was used and gave real world examples of its usage. You also explained your reason for choosing that particular tool. Very well done and extremely helpful. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and sharing. Those of us less versed in having to work on what's thrown in front of you can gain lots of knowledge from someone with your years of experience. Thanks again bud! P.S. new subscriber here!
I have an old Ingrasall air ratchet if your not paying attention when you use it, it will smash your hand and bad. I usually loan it out when someone wants to barrow it but I dont warn them about its power lol they never ask to barrow it again. Good top 10 Amesie
I use those impact universals on a long extension to get rear wheel drive transmission bolts out. They work great on the upper bolts that are so hard to get to. I normally just use then on a regular ratchet.
Hey Bruddah - thx for doing these videos! Tough luck on the gas tank. Some days we're the bat and some days the fricken bat calls all his friends to beat me/us up. Always at the most importune time too. I live in Hawaii. Came here in '77 and been here since i retired from the service in '93. I'm just an old retired guy that loves to do what I've always loved to do - work on cars and trucks. I been around nuts and bolts and tools for heck almost 50 years now. I came across your vids and thought "hey, I like this dude and dang-it, i sure do miss home". I was born in Dorchester Mass in '55. Watching your vids is down right cool. I learn a lot dude - honestly, i learn a lot each time I plunk'r down and start the video's and drink my java-juice - heck at my age a good car and tool video with a great cup of coffee on a Saturday morning can beat sex. You'll know it's true when you too have been married for 35 years and got more grandkids then teeth ;) You do to make this real and for that my friend - I join in with the rest and say - Thx Bruddah! -- OK enuff geography ...-- Can you jot down some of those tool brands? I gather the impacts are Snap-On and Irwin tools was bought out by the Gear Wrench folks but they keep using Vise Grip name sake for continuity and sales reasons. makes sense to me too. -- Any how, vise grips or gear wrench makes a really good two hose clamp plier set (9in & 7in for about $35-$40) and those types of clamps that has never ever failed me. Clamp it on and you got two free hands to play with and that hose and clamp aint going anywhere you don't want it to go. -- Here's Gear Wrench's part # 82060. Amazon is outta stock for the two plier set and same goes for EBay and ToolTopia.com -- BUT -- JBTools has them in stock for less than $40 not inc S/H and it's found here: www.jbtoolsales.com/gearwrench-82060-locking-hose-clamp-pliers-2-piece/ -- On a lighter side - Amazon does have the 9inch for $15 + $8.80 S/H and it's found here: www.amazon.com/GearWrench-82055-Locking-Clamp-Pliers/dp/B0076PB97U/ref=pd_sim_sbs_263_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=31H3GqV42lL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1QTXK6VA3F9XC0TTGBAH
I bought a service cart about a year ago, and I'm embarrassed to admit that it's been used more as a sort of "catch-all" than for it's intended purpose. But you've inspired me to use it properly. Think I'll go clear it off right now and use it while I install a new master cylinder on my old GMC this morning. Thanks!
Wow that em710. I've been a tech for a year, I'm trying to learn electrical diagnosis now. Looks like that thing is somewhat fool proof and educational which is what I need right now. I'll definitely ask my mac guy about it Also I have that same exact scanner! crp129. I don't use it much for diagnostics yet but it does get a lot of use resetting oil lights on German cars
Haha, your nearly 5 year old vid popped up in my feed today. Good specialty tools you've got there. I have to say though, that was the fastest tool box tour I've ever seen! 😲😃
I'm surprised you didn't mention flip sockets. they saved me quite a bit at the Chrysler dealer on the rams. when a 22 doesn't fit flip it so it's a 22.5.
Nice video with some great advise at the end. I wrenched on cycles for 30+ years. Love the layout of your tool box and have the feeling I could trust you working on my ride.
Good practice to use a tray and or cart! I put a strong magnet in it to be sure i don't lose even the smallest clips. Guilty as charged on tools in engine bay.
