There are times when we really don't want to finish our weaving with a fringe. One of the way to get around this is to used a turned hem to finish the raw edges, but that always gives us a great fat roll of fabric at each end of our piece - right? No, - wrong!
Using simple sewing thread to weave the hem sections, significantly decreases the bulkiness of a turned hem in our handwovens - it is well worth a try, especially for those items which will be in constant use in our home.
