My top tip for weaving a hem section when making a turned hem in your weaving

There are times when we really don't want to finish our weaving with a fringe. One of the way to get around this is to used a turned hem to finish the raw edges, but that always gives us a great fat roll of fabric at each end of our piece - right? No, - wrong!
Using simple sewing thread to weave the hem sections, significantly decreases the bulkiness of a turned hem in our handwovens - it is well worth a try, especially for those items which will be in constant use in our home.
Here's how I do it - Hope it helps!

This video was just the ticket! Thank you so much. I’d previously been hem stitching the top and bottom of my tea towels in order to avoid the bulky turned hem approach, which I have also tried, but neither has been satisfactory. I am literally right now sitting with my loom, all warped and ready to set off on my next set of towels and I just encountered your channel and saw this video. Off to fetch my sewing cotton! Genius!👌✨ New subscriber x

Something is wrong with your thumbnail. It's very blurry. I think it might be because it's auto selected. You should be able to fix it by making your own thumbnail.

Hi there - thank you for this. Not quite sure how to go about fixing it, but will have a go - your comment is much appreciated. Hope that the rest of the content made crystal clear sense!
