Big non-spoiler tip: Make a Persona and max out its LUCK stats asap with confuse and confuse boost. Confusing boss in Mementos is still one of the best ways to grind $$$ despite the status aliment nerf. Boost stats with either imprisonment training or with the Gallows (obtained after securing the treasure route to Futaba's Palace)
@@stonalisa3729 Yep, I had just started playing royal on xbox when I commented that. I played the original persona 5 a few years ago so remembered the confuse glitch well.
I played this game blind, and know nothing about persona. I am so in love with all the characters, and the style of the game. I am currently at Okamura, and hit a wall on the boss. Now I've caved and decided to look something up, I realized you can use the gallows multiple times in a day if you get the fusion alarm to proc, thanks to your fusion alarm video. I really appreciate the spoiler free video whether intentional or not. I didn't know about the post cards, I'm working on Chihaya and Akechi right now so that's really helpful! I'm so close to the deadline (10/5) thanks for the help! I somehow got an SP Regen into my Orpheus Picaro, so I'm doing trips with two squads until they run out of SP, to farm. Hopefully this leveling gives me the edge!!!
I know status effects don’t last as long, but because technical damage got such a huge buff, I leaned into them hard. Shock, Sleep, and Forget are just busted. Shock even more so since gun damage causes technical, and for some reason shock doesn’t go away after an all out attack so you can just string them together.
I love royal. It's amazing, atlus is like let's make our masterpiece even better. Like how. I've laughed so many more times now. Jose is so cute. God I love it
Yeah it was a little rough for me as well, i couldn't kill the 2nd to last enemy spawns all at the same time. I ended up having someone remove rakukaja with an item and then had someone do matarukaja and then had someone do marukunda and then doing baton passes and i was able to get it. He kept doing sacrificial order on the first turn so i just had to keep doing it till he didn't and then had enough turns to get the damage in.
I am SO SO GLAD that the trophy list for persona 5 ROYAL is SOOOOO MUCHHH easier compared to the OG persona 5 ! Now I am close to getting the plat with only 70 hours of gameplay (gonna get that amazing ps4 home theme as reward) compared to the 200 + hours that I spent to get the plat for the OG! Love this game
Well if you increased the money gained in Mementos and also have Ryuji insta-kill ability you can have Morgana ramming shadows in Mementos left and right to earn tons of money. Also the higher level you are the deeper level of Mementos you can farm and earn even tons more. I have spent around 4-6mil yen for weapons and personas fusions but still managed to get max money.
I'm going to try to read every book max out every confidant on the same playthrough. It will be difficult there will possibly be a time crunch and I am definitely making a spreadsheet
Nah, it's not that difficult really. I did every confidant maxed, max social stats, read every books, played all games, watched all DVDs, and saw all unique scenes in one run and still had about a month of free time.
@@RozalinGaming How long is that new semester and how much of it is free time? I know the ability to do stuff at Leblanc helps with some of the crunch, but there are still 3 new confidants that are locked off if you don't finish them in time. It took me three separate playthroughs of focusing on social stats, then all confidants, then miscellaneous trophy requirements in the original.
@@iniiloi6636 There's probably already a day-by-day guide online based off the Japanese version. Although I think most of them will focus on JUST max social stats and confidants.
Here's a tip for when you're reading books: if it's a book that unlocks a location, but you already have that location unlocked, you can read it without spending any time.
Maybe that a stupid question to ask in here , but anyway, since this one is the first video I’ve watched on your channel... I’m assuming you’re pretty good at Japanese ?
Some Persona can be fused using 15 different combinations w/o DLC installed; however, once you install the DLC, the DLC Persona can also be fused and some of the combinations of Persona that may have previous fused one Persona now fuse DLC Persona instead, removing a possible combination of Persona that could have made you something else. As an example, say Persona A and Persona B could be fused to make Persona C. But then you installed the DLC, and now that same combination fuses DLC Persona D instead of Persona C.
Wow great tips! Im in the Okumura boss battle and I can tell I need to fix up my party member but I agree that Makoto is crazy strong and usually in my party majority of the time.
I have one good tip for late game players. For the love of god get attis as soon as possible. His trait is amazing and lets him cast Thermopylae any time regardless if surrounded or not. Thermopylae is a party wide buff that buffs Atk/Def/Accuracy/Evasion for i think 3 turns. this will save you alot of turns in a fight sense you dont have to use everyones turn to buff each stat 1 by 1 and can even on the first turn use concentrate and focus for any of your main damage characters. For example id normally use joker for thermo then concentrate ann and have ryuji use his party wide focus and finish off by having a certain later party member use debilitate on the target effectively boosting everyones stats doubling their next magical and physical attack while reducing every stat on the target. Makes reaper hunting much easier sense it can effectively make him less likely to hit you and dps him down quickly. The reaper honestly does not have much hp so with a solid set up you can kill him before needing to really heal. Given i was playing normal so who knows maybe the later difficulties jump his so high that dps rushing him becomes stupid.
Thermopylae is definitely a good ability with Attis' trait; though I'm not sure I would use the Reaper as an example of where it shines, given how incredibly easy he is. Even on Hard or Merciless, the Reaper is basically a glorified punching bag, lol.
@@RozalinGaming true he is easy but the closest thing to an early game “super boss” and feels like everyone knows about him if only because it seems people tend to run into him by mistake and get insta killed by riot gun or one of his death skills. But yeah once you can resist his insta kill spells he’s just a tank and nothing else.
Though my gawd izanagi no okami is stupidly good i literally just got him. country maker and myriad of truths is just godly ,he is what i wish satanael would have been. Victory cry is just the bow on the package. The original dlc persona from nilla did not feel near this strong. Other then the 50% damage boost on once more and the 4 revives on death most felt meh trait wise.
@@darthreven9061 I'm glad Satanael isn't Izanagi-no-Okami; that persona ruins all enjoyment of the game. I actually don't use any (or own) any of the DLC persona for a few reasons, but the biggest one is how they remove what little difficulty the game has.
@@RozalinGaming yeah after playing with him these past few hours i agree he is way to overpowered. His trait alone is basically satanaels boost but with defense added on that and his unique spell pretty much makes the downside of almighty attacks pretty much not matter. Normally lest from what i can tell elemental attacks beat almighty sense they can benefit from weakness exploiting but if you have an almighty attack that hits 3 times on everything for heavy damage you basically made all sever almighty attack look weak in comparison and do enough damage that weakness exploiting is pointless and technical damage is in the same boat just baton pass to joker then nuke everything. Satanael is the very lest balanced by the fact he is a new game plus persona where as izanagi awakened can be gotten with in your first hour. Actually seeing his numbers with no meta boosts outside of what he comes with i can say he’s completely op. Joker should not be farting out 1200 damage per hit by the second palace with no buffs amps or boosts.
Are we going to talk about the ring of greed and how it makes you basically invincible and gives you the ability to give your entire team a defense both
Hi, can you do a late game persona guide? Like what are the best personas rn since some of the vanilla p5 powerhouses were significantly nerfed and how to level them up properly?
Late game Persona are less about the Persona themselves and more so their traits. I did recommend some late game traits in my video covering Persona traits.
Never played a persona game and not a fan of anime shit but everyone keeps telling me to play this game, apparently it’s a *masterpiece* 10/10 My royal copy comes in 5 days, so here I am watching a shit ton of tips n trick vids lol
The DLC personas thing sucks. The free dlc includes them. I wanted only the costumes but it’s not an option. Ik they’re broken I don’t wanna depend on them again...
The original game is inferior to Royal in every way. If you are strapped for cash getting the original will still provide you a great game, but I highly recommend Royal instead if you can afford it.
After playing Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal feels a bit too easy at the start especially when I'm one shotting basic enemies with their weaknesses. I'm playing on merciless difficulty. I want a good challenge, so would playing on hard be more challenging or will the game get harder as I go further in? Thanks for all the tips and tricks!
DLC Persona get added to the fusion tables (IE: they are part of the different arcana in the game, except Izanagi-no-Okami as he is part of the World arcana). Adding more Persona to the fusion table means that combinations that would have produced one Persona before, will now produce a DLC Persona instead. And for whatever reason, far more combinations produce DLC Persona than others.
@@kkyzs Whenever should be fine. I mainly put it in the video to serve as a warning as to what happens when you install the DLC Persona. That being said, however, most people probably won't notice it.
Makoto is stupid OP here, she gets an all stats +11 gun for no reason. Yoshida, Mishima and a few other characters will grow their ranks every time you hang with them regardless of answers and not having a matching Arcana persona.
Yep, I have an entire video dedicated to confidant ranks in which I cover exactly what is needed rank them up. As you say, Yoshida will rank up regardless by just hanging out with him; as for Mishima, your answers also don't matter but how many of the Mementos requests he gives you does as that is what determines if he will rank up or not.
I did, because that's how it's pronounced in Japanese and in the official western release. The Japanese do pronounce the Spanish name, Jose, as Ho-zay, but for Jose in P5R specifically chose not to; thus, I pronounce it Jo-zay.
So P5R is my first persona game, ive been doing a good amount of research into maximizing all social stats and confidants in a single play through since I typically don't play games more than once. Is it actually possible to accomplish this with time remaining if I do everything in your video, because everywhere else online makes it sound very difficult
P5R is the most lenient game in the series when it comes to time management. Semi-optimal management can comfortably max all social stats and confidants with 1-2 months of free time to spare. Making use of all time given and with careful planning, it's possible to do absolutely and see literally everything except the NG+ only things in a single run. This would be the only scenario in which a guide would be necessary for P5R, though there aren't any that are that thorough.
how many hrs would it take to 100% the achviemnts nothing seems to hard or long to do. i just did ff7 all achivments in like 80hrs so im looking for a long game to play again. ni no kuni 2 a game i have not played is like 23$ aud
A small change that I loved The boost Ryuji’s confidant perks gives you allows you to sprint around enemies and not get caught nearly as easily in the first game. You can outright run straight past them and 90% of the time they won’t realize you’re there. Best boy is still best boy
Remember Ryuji also gives you Insta-Kill at Rank 7. This allows you to sprint (Hold R2) into low level shadows and instantly kill them giving you only a small summary of the battle - also you ALWAYS capture a persona. Just go into mementos, execute a ton of your persona, and then go to town on lower level shadows for easy level ups, easy persona farming, and TONS of money! (Remember to always record your persona so you can just call them back later.) Ryuji is truly the best.
@@wolvo5441 lol. Ryuji rank 7 let's you insta win fights against most mobs and take one of them as personas. You go to momentos and just face roll the game, makes for easy gathering and fusions. Essentially what he said lol. My friend and I just beat the game again, and went from 77 to 99 in like an hour without fighting a damn thing because of this lol
I really like Ryuji's character. Definitely is best friend hahahaha. I empathize with him, too, so with Joker being an Outcast as well, it is a cool story.
@@maispaletes just make a persona as usual but if it's higher than your level you'll need to pay a fee. Only available at rank 5 on the strength confidant and cheaper at rank 10
@@narukamitrunpet1964 so I am too busy at night. At the beginning I could study or reading. Then I use the night too wash the clothes or visit the public bathrooms. And now, I spend my time with Mishima sometimes, or with other confident too wacht a film. Or working in your restaurant job. Or studying in a special restaurant. Or doing the Big Burger defiance... There's a lot of thing to do at night, and I think that I don't have enough time hahaha (I haven't played the original P5, so I don't know what I would have done) Sorry for my English
Not sure who knows this, but if you have Ryuji’s insta kill confidant ability unlocked, you can sprint directly into any really weak enemy (without ambushing) and kill them instantly 100% of the time guaranteed. A way to know if they can be killed is to use third eye, if they’re glowing green instead of blue, it’ll work. Works from every direction and even when they’ve detected you and are chasing, as long as they’re glowing green in third eye.
“Use Makoto in battle” *Me, who literally hasn’t even considered removing her from the lineup between the moment she joined and Shido’s palace (I haven’t beaten it in P5 yet):* You mean people stopped? EDIT: Beat the game, she stayed on my team from the moment she unlocked Johanna until the moment I shot god.
@@RozalinGaming Thanks for the info, I just thought it was funny since I haven't moved Makoto from Joker's right side since she got there. For the record, I believe the spell is Makajamaon in English in its strongest form.
I mean, I'd say she's even better than that due to Gaia's Pact. Being able to charge up the chance of getting Shock or Freeze makes some Savage Shadows far easier to deal with than they should be, as you can just skip their turn completely, and Technical them the next.
@@michelangelo6483 probably still very good because she still saves you a TON of time and stuff, but I think it comes down to personal preference and a general guideline. Like you wanna get Takemi, Chihaya, and Kawakami up Early so you can Grind Palaces and Confidants up much more efficiently later on.
The Leblanc updates to the game are seriously a godsend, no joke. Also, it was nice to know that I was doing some right things in regard to planning ahead with social links and mementos requests ^^ And I didn't even know that you could send postcards to your friends!! Thanks for the vid, it was super informative!
@@MoodyMMA her mediarama skill itself was one of my main reasons for always using her, also she's much more durable than morgana, the other multiheal party member
I think that Izanagi is classified as a World arcana so it's safe to install since it won't screw up fusions. That being said, it will make the game incredibly boring.
@@RozalinGaming Thats good to know. I caved and downloaded it. After I one shot the first half of the first palace in less than an hour I stopped using it. It was fun at first, but then I realized how bored I was. I'm keeping it in my party for that victory cry though lol. Forget the power of the wild card, this is my REAL trump card lol.
@@RozalinGaming yeah, Izanagi-No-Okami and his Picaro variant are World arcana and can only be fused in the group guillotine, there are a few exceptions but those use treasure demons. (his signature move is busted, so the game gets about 10 times easier like you mentioned.)
I didn’t even CONSIDER that I should max out my confidants much less the 3 you apparently need for the 3rd semester in Royal. I was pissed for 3 days and now I’m right back and playing WAY more efficiently lol
My favourite tip with Makoto: her trait increases Ann's chance of landing a burn, Ryuji for landing shock and Yusuke for landing freeze. Once she joins the party, I have a hard time taking Makoto out for how useful she is for her defense buff, party wide heals and her trait.
Well, rip me with the DLC personas. I got so excited to see the entire original P5 persona/costume DLC collection was FREE that I downloaded it before Royal even got delivered. Not a huge deal, but still a bit of a bummer.
Considering you can get the VIP Treatment perk from the Twins at rank 5, you can easily get any persona you want by the 4th to 5th palace if you have enough money. Money is easier to get because you just max Jose in mementos and get Chihaya's money reading with Ryuji's Insta-Kill and boom 1 million yen in less than 10 minutes. So I can buy any persona I need at this point.
@@spyroclone152 except some personas who need to max the confidant. In my first Gameplay I wanted to play normal, without powerful Personas. Also I remember that I hadn't gone to Mementos to farm money, so I think that the max amount of money that I reached was 800.000 yen. Now in my +new game I ve farmed a lot, and I have 7 million of yen. A lot because I want to have glod builds with Personas like Satanael, Yoshitaune, Arsène, Maria... So I will need a lot of fusions.
If you guys want to get stamps fast without having to search all levels in a path, get Futaba's mapping skill and go back and forth between two levels for a definite way to find those stamps.
Great video! I'm almost at 50 hours now. I only stopped to watch this because I had to charge my controller. This is a pretty good time to not have to be in school. Thanks distance learning!
My top tip is to fuse a persona with the trait Gloomy Child (rain/snow always in effect), the skill ambient aid (makes it easier to inflict status ailments during rain/snow), lullaby (medium chance to put all enemies to sleep), and technical rank 4. Instant easy mode.
I’m about halfway done with the DLC and I can confidently say Akechi is my favorite character in the game. I didn’t know how ranking up confidants worked for a long time so I never got his maxed out which is a damn shame. After I beat the game I plan to take a break and go back with a guide to 100% it. Man I love Akechi
shiiiiit. Wish I had known this before hand. Does it count if you havent taken them out of the box yet? Also can you take some things like the costumes out of the box and leave the Persona or is it all or nothing?
About to finish my first playthrough of Royal... And honestly doing everything all wrong haha. Going to go into NG+ with my maxed social stats and make sure I actually get a chance to do everything this time around.
I have 350 hours with The Witcher 3. But between 10 months. My favourite game of all time. Other mentions, Red Dead Redemption 2, God Of War, Persona 5 Royal, Bloodborne. And games that I like, but not my favourite: AC Origins, Infamous Second Son, Final Fantasy XV, Minecraft, Undertale...
For going to mementos, after the first visit how long do you wait to do the second visit? Do quests start piling up early or do I need to do a couple visits first?
@@RozalinGaming doesn't mishima only rank up if you do the requests though? mishima's confidant is kinda important to rank up since he gives exp share abilities so by that case you'd have to wait a while to get all of his ranks right?
Kind of a long story but the tl;dr is I moved to Japan to study it. If you every stop by while I'm streaming on Twitch I'd be happy to give you the long version.
Not sure many people know this, but if you visit the boy's toilets in school, you'll reflect on how close you are to completing your social stats. I do this quite often
I don't think so. But honestly, unless you're one of the people who have to min-max everything in their first playthrough, I don't think it'll matter too much. It might impact how you fuse Personas for the twins though. The only way you can change it now is to uninstall the game, which uninstalls the DLC, and then reinstall the game without manually redownloading the DLC, and start a new save file.
I finished the game blind and managed to max out the confidants and my social stats on my first run thanks to it not forcing me to sleep at night. I just prioritize the most important confidants for my run like Yoshida (money interrogation), Chihaya, Kawakami, and Takemi. Another tip is to choose the right choices for Akechi at the end of his confidant as it unlocks a special mechanic (can't say bc of spoilers).
Thanks for the info on what happens when you download DLC Personas. I never really cared for using them, but it's too bad they've been bundled with the old costumes for P5R in the west...guess I'll hold off on the DLC bundle until my first playthrough is done.
Seeing as I specifically made the video in a way that my game's language doesn't matter, I wasn't doing any disfavors either. In fact, since buying the JP version gave me 6 months to prepare un-rushed, accurate content, I'd say I actually did quite the favor. But if it's that big of a deal, you're more than welcome to buy me an English copy before it's available next time.
well my advice is to have haru in your party, zip line ambush every enemy and use mapsiodyne to hit that sweet technical for an all out attack and end a bunch of battles almost instantly
There really isn't much else advise wise other than to manage your time wisely. With regards to social stats and confidant ranks you have so much time in P5 and P5R that it's ridiculous.
Appreciate all the P5R tips you've been putting out lately, they'll definitely come in handy, especially the darts, billiards and jazz club. I have a question about the DLCs, more specifically the costumes. I'm interested in getting the PQ2 costume bundle but I'd only want to do so if it included the costume for every party member including Kasumi, but Kasumi has her own standalone bundle for all of her costumes which include some sets that the rest of the party gets from the free legacy DLC package. This got me wondering whether or not Kasumi's PQ2 skin would be included in the party's costume set or if it only comes in the Kasumi specific bundle.
I can't say for certain since I got the JP version of the game and I didn't purchase any DLC, but I'm pretty sure all of Kasumi's costumes must be purchased.
Wow doing all social stats and confidants in one play through is really impossible for me since I'm already at the seventh palace. I mostly used my time to raise social stats to the max forgetting that some confidant can raise them and making a ton of coffee for one day infiltrations.
Hahaha, imagine play Persona 5 normal. You couldn't do anything at night. Now you have 2 times to make wathever you want. However, I feel that I haven't enough time hahaha. It's necessary to play +new game too know all confidants and extra scenes.
Morgana Socks it’s soo good the little tweaks and additions to the game and story are fantastic I’m only 20 ish hours in myself but it’s a definite buy if you played the original
Christian Cosgriff I actually never played the original, i am getting a PS4 later this year and persona 5 royal will be my first game, but I have watched 500+ hours of footage of the original and loved it
Before I started using the mementos exploit, I felt so big brain using is talking thingy to get more money out of an enemy that was weak to like, gun dmg or something.
Man, I wish this game was on PC specifically Steam. That'd be pretty epic. I'm glad we got four on steam but this game looks jaw droppingly spectacular! Fingers crossed for the 25th anniversary.
Me in the beginning of Persona: Wow Makoto is so much better than Ann! She does so much more damage. Ann: Oh yeah!? Well, now I have concentrate! Me: Oh never mind Makoto is worse! Now, in Persona 5 royal. Me: Yay! Ann is going to be so OP because of concentrate! Ann: Yay! Makoto: Well, now I can use concentrate too! Me: Starts liking Makoto more! Because Makoto is a lot more versatile, because she has good damage, heals, and damage buffs, I like her.
Yhea, at night you could work in a restaurant job, meeting in the cinema with confidants, or with Mishima in Shibuya, studiyng in a special restaurant, or working in LeBlanc, or try to do the Big Burger defiance cheaper that at the day. Because at night you have special offers in some places. Also people change at night, theres other atmosphere, and dialogues also change. And there is a confidant special that it's only at night.
Not sure if you still check these comments, but I'm curious what tips people would recommend for a playthrough where you started with all the DLC personas already. I can't remove them and I don't want to restart, so what're my best options/tips?
Apollavin :P thanks, but no other way in April? Cuz I can’t do takemi’s confidant until I level up my guts, which is something I didn’t have to worry about in the original p5😂
@@JoeMama-fy3km When that was the case I read the guts book and did the Big Bang Burger challenge. If you're studying for exams order coffee. That'll give you a small boost in guts. However this was in P5 so idk if it'll apply in P5R
Ma right now it's easier to do all of them based on the fact that you can boost social stats really fast in Leblanc, Proficiency, Kindness an Knowledge can be done there so I have them on Rank 4 and I'm only starting Futaba's Palace, Charm and Guts are a little bit harder but they are Rank 3 and Charm it's close to get to Rank 4, and because most confidantes can be done until end of January getting all of them full it's in one run it's relatively easy, just keep in mind that Takutoand Akechi get blocked on 11/17, Yoshida on 11/14 and Kasumk on12/22 (but Kasumi it's an special confidant and only goes to Rank 5 and the next ranks unlucks when the the third semester gets started)
I actually kinda beat P5R without using Makoto at all! I didn’t even use her skills/gun/melee attacks during her awakening fight at all. Either way, thank you for giving this tip to others!
