Yeah, I was addicted to Tramadol too for about 4 or 6 years. I became a different person. Boy that withdrawal was horrible. But the scariest thing about being dependant of Tramadol is running out and having to get your next pill bottle. My life was consumed with getting more and more Tramadol. It was a vicious cycle that never ended. But thru God's grace and my wife, I kicked that habit and if I can do it, anyone can. Don't give up. Life is so much better without that drug.

@@joshhernandez5069 it can take a few months to fully recover.. But the worst period is the first 2 weeks of withdrawal, but by the 3rd week it eases off (So I am told that is, by various people. But we are all different so I guess it will vary person to person I'm in the same boat as you.. I'm down to 3 a day from about 8, 50mg a day It's bloody hard..

@@compostcorner5934 hope you made it. Coming from 10 years addiction, sometimes 150mg at day and more. I come out in 1 month, first week was a nightmare, tbh. But I made it. I was feeling without energy, always in pain, my body was weak af. After the year I started to do some workout, now I feel good. Tbh sometimes I think about tramadol, but when it happen I suddenly think about the pain I suffer to coming out that habit. No bullshit, it's hard, very hard, I've done it solo without any help so I guess everybody can. Stay strong dude, and sorry for my English, not my mother language.

This shit was the precipice to my moms pill/ heroin addiction. She was told it wasn’t addictive. Few years later her doctor dies, and now all the docs are like “now we aren’t prescribing that”. She was a single mom in excruciating pain and now experiencing withdraws she never ever ever expected. She had a really awful friend who offered her pills and fentanyl patches. She took them after trying to go cold turkey, and then she got hooked. It spiraled from there. Thankfully she got clean in my youth. I’m proud of her.

@@Coolsponge100Hey, do not worry about Tramadol withdrawals, just taper, it's nothing like heroin withdrawals. You could look up some of the horrific heroin withdrawals people have gone through it. However, I am not undermining Tramadol withdrawals whatsoever, but as far as heroin, it is more doable and much achievable. By the first week you will start feeling better. You could take benzos for 4/5 days just to help you sleep. DO NOT USE BENZOS MORE THAN THAT. IT IS ONE OF THE CRAZIEST DRUG TO COME OFF, and benzos withdrawals are something else. By the end of 14 days you will be almost good to go and you will definitely see a change. Watching tele helps bide away time. I have had the experience of detoxing from heroin, methadone, benzos. Out of all these crazy and brutal experiences, Tramadol was the easiest of the lot, my friends would say the same, however every person is different in terms of physiology, metabolism etc so I guess each individual will have a different reaction, but the probability is you will have easier withdrawals, because only in rare cases Tramadol withdrawals will be as chronic as heroin withdrawals. God bless.

Google, how to get over withdrawal. Research and prepare and just do it. Get some over the counter stuff that treats restless leg, like an emergency kit, mel, vitamins, Gatorade, ibuprofen. Magnesium, take a lot of warm baths with epsom salt. After a week you should be getting better. Ask your doctor for advice and help.

I had taken this drug for 3 yrs for back and RA pain. It almost drove me insane. I was so depressed , it made me take in the world differently. It is so hard to articulate what I mean, that and I would get horrible sweats and then freezing. But it was the mental shit I couldn't take. My Doctor would tell me my depressed feelings were from something other then Tramadol. I read about the horrors coming off this drug, even so, I went cold turkey. I had a couple days off , and a quarter oz of weed. The worst was joint pain, one min sweating my ass off to freezing.I thought it was many times worse than Klonopin. I feel it changed my brain chemistry for life. This drug should be outlawed. You can get off it, you can do it, then once you accomplished that , do your part and tell everyone you know , to stay miles away from this poison. Good luck....

Was prescribed tramadol after knee surgery 4 years ago, realised how it lifted my mood after taking it, as you say those positive effects stop working and i formed a habit of 150-200mg a-day, i am currently going through withdrawl of all the above symptoms you have mentioned from 2nd October 22. I am currently ill with covid i cnt decide if the sweats and stomach cramping is that or withdrawl. Currently down to 25mg a day and want this dirty drug out my system for good, the more i listen, the more i realise it is withdrawl, not being able to sleep due to the restless legs, the anxiety and stomach cramps are hell on earth. The crazy thoughts of doom and gloom and tears of despair when i have the most amazing job and life is brutal and all because of a dirty drug which i initially used to ease my pain . here's my current situation. on day 11-12 of no tramadol. I quit cold turkey 400-500 mg a day and daily alcohol use. I drank before work at work and after work every day. I just cant do it anymore. I was feeling sick all the time. They just made me feel worse. So on day 3 I go to see my pcp. She prescribes me gabapentin at a daily dose of 2700 mg split into 3 dosages. Long story short my legs and midsection had retained so much water I stopped taking it immediately. It hurt to much to walk let alone do anything. That was 3 days ago and there still is 20% water retention so I am getting better. Still noticing some neck and shoulder twitching at night. I've been numb for too long. I'm feel like damaged goods. My encouragement is that 1st it is possible to over come. It is difficult but it will be worth it! I pray to my Heavenly Father whom I know with out a doubt with out HIM. I'm ready to feel again!

Only 200mg a day? Oh man, I'm in a really seriously bad spot and so ashamed for it. I start off with four then take acetaminophen and grapefruit juice to make it stronger. Then 45 minutes later, I'll pop 3 more, then an hour later, another 3 more, and then one more time. This is when I start nodding out which I love. Now I'm getting physically sick in every way and the brain zaps are constant because of the SSRI in it. So, I have to take it at this point. Sweats - hot and cold, adds to my lack of appetite, makes my GAD, OCD, Depression entirely worse, causes my Trichotillomania to get completely out of control and I start going gung-ho with the pimple extractor and tweezers, and also, my moods are unpredictable. It cost me my family. My financial situation was destroyed. I was buying this garbage from India. My intake was 20 100mg pills a day. This last Jan my father passed. I made the decision at that time to stop. Cold. No lies what he says in this video is fact. Especially the mental. But know this. Your a strong enough to get through. You might not think so. Thank you for this video. I took my last Tramadol 2 weeks ago. This was my 3rd time coming off this devil drug. I’ve been taking it off and on for 15 years for chronic neck paid from a birth defect. Essentially my neck and spine are twisted. The 1st time I went cold turkey and nearly had a stroke. The 2nd time I tapered over a month. This time (I was taking 8-9 50mg pills a day), I tapered over 2 months. Took one less pill every week on Mondays. It wasn’t easy but tolerable. I had the help of my husband who held onto the pills because I didn’t trust myself to take ‘just 1’ to alleviate the withdrawals. The brain damage part is what scares me. I know I’ve screwed up my brain. I thought I’d be ok with the long taper. But, even after 2 weeks of no Tramadol, I’m still sneezing, achey, feeling fluish, restless legs at night, and the overwhelming exhaustion is the worst. But, each night I beg God/angels to just take me in my sleep. I don’t want to go anywhere. I have a good life, a good husband, loving family/friends. What you said about the negative thoughts brought tears to my eyes and just made me feel not alone. I want to thank you for that. I know they are just negative thoughts and part of this crap medicine, they aren’t ME. I have a feeling you are a NJ native since you said ‘down the shore’. So I'm trying to make the transition as easy as possible by ramping down my usage. I've gone from 1,400-1,500 mg a day (15 100mg pills) down to 6 or 7 now. I'm hoping to be down to one or two a day by the time I run out, and that's when the real test will begin. Wow. I read many comments on this video and it’s clear each person has different experiences in how this drug works in our bodies. I’m a retired army Infantryman and nearly 59 and started taking Tramadol after a severe leg injury in 2005. To make things even more interesting, I had stomach surgery a few months after the injury called a full Nissin procedure and it caused “failure to absorb” episodes where any med I took may or may not process and metabolize properly either partially or nothing at all. Then I have the inability to process opioid meds! They barely work and the stronger the pain med, the less it worked. Tramadol was the only med that worked consistently when my stomach was cooperating. To make sure the dose will absorb, I make sure my stomach is empty for 90 minutes after eating and wait for 45 minutes after taking the med before I eat anything else. I don’t drink and never did drugs so all this was new to me and it was so embarrassing to tell the doctor that it’s not working or sometimes I consume more than prescribed, they thought I was abusing the med which I never expected. For me, taking this drug is like taking a Tylenol (I’m allergic to Aspirin or anything in that drug family due to RH negative blood) and I don’t get any kind of high or improved mental state, it just works at relieving the pain. I’ve been taking it for 19 years now and it’s one of 3 meds I take daily but I consume 20% more than others die to the stomach issue which my doctors finally acknowledged a few years ago as the information was disseminated down to them. 6 months after I got my stomach surgery they quit doing the full nissin because of a 40% rate of adverse reactions in absorbing meds and nutrients but try explaining that to a doctor or medical staff you have to deal with, they’re not budging on their abuse opinion. I don’t have any sleep issues or body temperature swings as some have, one of my other meds does have a known side effect of making me grouchy so I’m extra careful to not respond too quickly to any adverse stimuli. I did find a way to improve my stomachs ability to absorb the dose by crushing the tablet and putting them into gelatin capsules you can get at health food stores, it was a great improvement for me given my issue. I did this with another med I take as well that was giving me similar issues. During the Gulf War I was exposed to Sarin nerve agent in multiple minuscule doses for 30 days but our unit ignored the chemical alarm when it went off a couple times a day. Turns out the Air Force was bombing weapon storage facilities and there was chemical munitions stored there and we were along the Saudi-Iraqi border and chemical weapons spread best during cooler and arid conditions. Back in 1997 I was informed by a letter from DoD that my battalion (2/502 INF, 101st ABN) was exposed to this agent and to report to the nearest military base for an exam and evaluation questionnaire regarding this, at the time I was still in the Army. I also took those PB pills that were experimental nerve agent defense pills that was intended to slow down the spread of an exposure in the nervous system but they did a lot of damage to people in various ways depending on their own predispositions. Apologies for the rambling, just wanted to give a bigger image of my background and how Tramadol affects me and I plan to reduce the amount and switch to something better and healthier. Thanks for your time.

This is true, all except the "heroin" part. Tramadol does have an SSRI component, but is a schedule 4 drug thought to have a very low addiction profile. Only honestly some people will abuse and become addicted to virtually anything. Sometimes it's the person, NOT the drug.

The last several years ive been on 2-5 a day. Usually 3-4. But the constant anxiety of running out is just too much. Its literally killing me. I am really going to try to taper myself down, and stop them completely. Ive had withdrawals from this stuff before and it is really hard if you arent down to 1-2 a day. God help me. Came across your video last night and I am just a few minutes into it. Just gotta love the white coat legal drug dealers who in no way shape or form can be sued for their lies!!! I've been on trams for roughly 6/7 years due to back pain and depression. 2 years ago I stopped the tram and started taking kratom the white maeng da strain. It helped tremendously with the withdraws but my mind was like a flat tire. I might have been off them for maybe a few months but I could be wrong. It helps with my neuro-receptors and allows me to sound smart-ish..... Not being on them it like a spark plug that is not gapped properly. My doctor did some research and said that tramadol works just like cymbalta. Either way no matter who you are, it's a crap drug and it locks it's claws on the person. My depression becomes worse when I'm off of them. I commend any and all who has kicked the devil out of their lives. I won't give up. Thank you to Phil for making this video and all the testimonies from all of you. God bless.

I just turned 58 and I’m going into day 6 of this beast of a withdrawal. I had no idea Tramadol was the demon it turned out to be. I’ve taken 600mg or more everyday for just over 3 years and finally decided enough was enough. I couldn’t do the tapering either. I wasn’t going to make it being miserable so long so I’m doing cold turkey. I honestly thought “ oh heck, sweating, freezing a little diarrhea, a sleepless night or two and maybe a few muscle aches and I’d be fixed. I should of watched some videos. A friend tried to tell me what it was like but honestly I thought he was exaggerating some and he didn’t want to correct me when I told him “ehhh it won’t be to bad. I’ll feel like I have a little bit of the flu a couple of days then it’ll be over” He was afraid to tell me I was WAY underestimating this thing because he didn’t want to scare me into staying addicted. Thanks for the honesty and heads up on what’s ahead. I had no clue about that. BUT as hard as things are and will get as this detox continues at least I’ll be that much further down the line from this tramadol hell. I may have quit smoking two months too early ha!

I been using 1-2 pills per day off and on for about three weeks now (my magic number) but started to notice that I was getting tired without them. Like falling asleep in meetings and strange stuff after they wore off. This prompted me to take it again to see if the tiredness would go away and it does. It also works so well on my pain I started thinking wow can I take these long term but another part of me said "red flag" for every up there is a down. I have been addicted to Tramadol I have had really hard painful times, Tramadol controls my life because I need it in order to be a productive Person. I have tried to quit it few times, I failed all of them, I'm just tire of tramadol controlling my life and sometimes I just prefer to give up and pull the trigger. My life is so miserable. People! Please stay away from drugs. its not worth it.

My dose doesn't cover the pain anymore, so I am in pain and addicted. Today I started to take 50 mg less every 3 days. ( now on 3 x 100 mg) I want to feel clear again

@@Angeleyes26 How did your taper work out? I'm using tramadol to get off Suboxone, and I'm down to 200mg by going down 50mg every five days. I was taking 350mg on my worst days.

I've stopped Tramadol a few times but never got past the "wiped out" stage and felt so tired after months of stopping. The one time I did stop and felt very positive and actually had energy was when I took Sertlaline after I'd been off Tramadol for a few days. Again, many people react differently but I found Sertlaline to give me energy and I felt my pupils become alive again. I remember thinking "wow, I've been off tramadol for weeks now and I don't crave it and I'm going to the gym everyday". Then one day I was stressed in work, offered some weak codeine and before I knew it i was back on tramadol so now I'm looking to stop again and hope to God sertraline helps like it helped before....

So you were completely off Tram before the Sertaline or were you tapering...

@@mikecat1467 if you can taper over the slowest time frame possible with the help of your doctor then that is the way to do it. But im an addict and could never taper so I'd cold turkey. But I felt starting sertraline on my first day off of tramadol helped a little and was the only think I can of that did help. Also exercise (even though you may not be able to fathom going out. I used to take my dog out and get so tired I used to wish I had a seat I had with Me to sit down. Your brain will get better though especially if you don't start taking anything else. Stay well away from pregabalin, that is evil stuff

I’m looking up information on tramadol addiction because I need to get off. I’ve been on since 2017. Every time that I try I panic. My issue is living 20 min to Mexico. I can purchase 100 pills at a time so it’s like a never ending supply. I try so hard but it’s just in my face. Definitely lost weight due to not wanting to eat. But I can’t function without. The anxiety and withdrawal from not taking it is scary. But I’m losing myself. The “feel good” feeling is what kept me using. I was depressed and anxious and for some reason it helped. But now I’m on antidepressants and I don’t think mixing both is a good idea. There’s some sort of syndrome you can get. So I need to quit.
