Oh oh let me share a uber story! Last time my driver asked me (Chinese Canadian) :"... so in China, is it like... do you all keep pandas as pets?" Me: "I... we... I don't ...WHAT?" Driver: " You know, pandas. Are they like dogs?" Me: "I...we...umm...SORRY?" Driver: " I've seen those internet videos, people keeping pandas as pets." I ended up telling him that pandas are endangered species and no one is keeping them as pets. But when I returned home I kept thinking if there's any answer that's crazy enough to beat that question, like: " Oh yeah, just like dogs, but taste way better." Or: "No no, more like horses. Sometimes my parents were too busy to drive me to kindergarten, and I would just ride a panda. It's quite expansive though, not all family could afford panda rides."

I'm a kiwi, and it's completely normal for people all around new zealand to be barefoot. You can be in Auckland City and there will be barefoot people. You can be hiking in the middle on a trail and there will be barefoot people. It's not weird for people to be barefoot, it's natural
