Dear Huda as a skin care enthusiast I must point out the following 1-Your CE Ferulic serum looks oxidized, the color has turned dark amber. Fresh Vit C serum should be clear in color and then starts to yellow. If it has yellowed it means you can still use it but when the color turns dark amber the serum is no longer an antioxidant (protecting your skin cells) and is now a Prooxidant (inducing oxidative stress on your skin, in other words damaging it silently). This goes for any Vit C serum that uses the pure and most potent form of Vit C (L-ascorbic acid). This is because L-ascorbic acid is very unstable and quickly degrades in formulations containing water. 2-Vit C serums containing L-ascorbic acid should be used daily to reap maximum benefits as we established it degrades with time and while at night a Vit C serum containing L-ascorbic acid works just fine, its better to be used in the morning to boost the protection of your sunscreen and fight off the pollutants we face as we go about our day. The peeling effect you described is the slight exfoliation that occurs since L-ascorbic acid is at a low ph, that is why some people are sensitive to the ingredient (Vit C). CE Ferulic uses 15% L-ascorbic acid and ideally, you wanna build tolerance until you can use it daily every morning or opt for 10% L-ascorbic acid serum. Your bottle should be used up in 4 months to prevent the formula from oxidizing. If anyone wants to use L-ascorbic acid without having to deal with oxidation issues then find a water-free formula. Most of the times these water-free L-ascorbic acid formulas are gritty or too siliconey and so people use them at night but as I previously stated the ingredient delivers more when used in the morning.

I started using coconut oil to take off my makeup first and then my regular makeup remover before cleanser and I can’t believe how much better my skin seems!
