@@TheBrich313 Normal 34" oder 49"? I have a 34" and it's awesome. 34" is perfect for Gaming AND Programming. But 49" would also be really nice for a "only Programming Setup" 😅
@@FuriouslyFamousBG Yea! Since it's a 2 & half yrs old model. Futhermore, Im not entirely happy with it bcoz after this release two more new models had been released.
Right? Pretty damn good voice audio. I can't watch vids where the audio is bass-heavy, or too tinny. Breathing sounds and nasal whistles are awful. Worst of all though, are dry mouth noises and lip smacking. Drives me crazy when the mic is set up to capture all that grossness. 😫 Immediately click off and try to calm back down.
Running Docker containers on Mac is pain that's why I'm using Linux (also because living in a third world country i can't afford apple products of course)
I am a programmer and stats consultant for market research. I do data analysis programming and use 6 screens. To program one study I have a minimum of 4 programs open (up to 6). If I am working on multiple projects the screen real estate is very valuable. I dont understand a minimalist setup and being a programmer. We arent photographers. I have a surface book, a zenbook duo (dual screen laptop), galaxy tab s9 ultra, and gaming pc. I have an ultrawide, a regular monitor and a smart monitor mounted above. I also mount my zfold phone beside the tablet. I have a dedicated keyboard and mouse for my main pc and I have a keyboard and mouse that each have 3 bluetooth input switches so that I can switch between all the other devices with the click of a button. I program about 100 studies a year that vary in sizes greatly. Currently looking to take on more work as we have upped our capacity.
"so many vms and docker containers" lmao you need translation that can break and overall much hasstle

Agreed, docker on mac is really just the worst choice you can go for. Even on windows. The hypervisor brings the WSL2 (Linux) closer to the hardware than a mac docker could be. Without fixing/compiling it yourself, docker on a Mac will just be measurably slower than windows or linux.
@@nonamebrand1633 I’m also a Mac user, and I already tried using Linux for programming. I won’t say it’s better or worse, is just fine. It’s obviously better if you’re working with something related to bash, but anything that can’t be done in other operational systems. in a general scope is exactly the same. Except Linux desktop is a mostly garbage experience if you just want to get stuff done instead of typing useless stuff on terminal for the sake of control.
@@rswierczynski well I am a novice so ig I still have a lot to find out. Part of why I even got a Mac is cuz it's similar to Linux. I had to use it in a VM for a class and enjoyed using the terminal and all that

If you are not used to it linux can be a hassle. If you actually start to RTFM and you want to automate / combine / devOps / ... linux is just the better choice. And there is a lot that you can do on terminal but can't in an X interface. Even Microsoft realized that wothout propper linux support your system isnt really useful if your not just doing wordpress and call yourself an IT guy.
Yeah Linux fanatics are one of the worst kind of people ever existed, like all the fanboys.I have windows , Linux , and now a MacBook, and personally , being also an iPhone user, I feel at home with Mac OS , I love it , I’m also a programmer .I just prefer it , it’s damn good. And I’m pretty good with Linux , used it for years , but it’s nowhere stable , compatibile with many programs I use as a mac
as the lead programmer of a robotics team, a laptop alone will do just fine. (windows). plus, Idk what sort of java classes you're writing, mine are like 200 lines on avg so not much to do with the monitor.
You should replace your keyboard with a Planck keyboard. Your lines per minute will increase by 84%

When running docker/podman/OCI containers, a Mac is literally the worst choice. The way how its implement adds an extra virtualization layer. And AFAIK some sockets are not passed through properly. Add to that issues with volume mounting. Wanna try it, go for a debugging session with xDebug (PHP). Even windows does it way better since WSL2. I also recommend 2 or 3 screens instead of one. Or you may just whish to alt tab /switch virtual desctops constantly. For a mouse I recommend a "vertical" mouse in a size of palm. Helps against a crampy hand. If you like gestures, well just go for gnome 3. Load it up with the right plugins and go be awesome. For a shell, switch to zsh, add oh my zsh and (powerlevel10k) and enjoy on of the best shells you have ever seen.
use docker on mac? does it will gain slow peformance? or still acceptable? because i heard on mac same with windows, have to use virtualization and it will gain slowww peformance
I have been struggle to even know how to RUN project in Visual Studio Code for WEEKS! how irony I even to know this?! Every time i saw those video about Codeing video just makes my day even wrose because those video just makes me fell I am so useless and I cannot find a solution to run a project.😞
Unix based OS with lot better functionality in the apple ecosystem. e.g. (I can copy and paste things from mac/iphone with just "CTRL+C" "CTRL+V"). Once you get in you can't go back 🤷🏼♂️
@@barbosa7797 Stability is a bit better that's true. But what feature does apple have that you can't get on Windows/Android? For example on Windows 11 I can also copy and paste from my PC to my phone.
you need at least 15000 monitors and 5000000 buttons that say "HACK" on them in green text and you need to use gentoo and compile everything from scratch and have the executable 10000000000 hours later
i think it is huawei 34 mateview gt with sound bar. It is selling in two versions - with and without soundbar. I have the same and its great for developer work. Not so much as that particular monitor but the resolution it has.
Lenovo L15, 48gb RAM with an i7. Two external curved screens and logitech vertical mouse with an ergonomic logitech keyboard. Running gnome 3 and a zsh shell. It allows developing in an environment that mostly resembles where your software will end up running anyway (minus the graphical interface).
@CodingWithLewis thanks you replying I didn't expect it 👍

20 years is very conservative. I'm a software developer for over 20 years now. And with chatGPT i can do 80% of my work. You still need to know what you do cause its mostly not 100%. But with the right prompting you'll do the work of an hour in 5-10 minutes. Now think of things like autoGPT, the works Stanford does with training new models with the help of existing LLMs. 5-10 years and alot of white collar jobs will significantly change. Imagine using LLMs to give individualized teaching to children (e.g with special needs). I hypothesize that in just the next 2-3 years. You will be able to just tell an Ai with context info of your app to write plugins for you. Its not even that hard.
It can run so many vms and docker containers? Yeah. If you have money and DON'T have the base model. A PC for the same price just outclasses it. But overall it's a very streamlined experience for development.
That makes No Sense... Docker is specially Made for Linux and use Containerd. Containerd is an Change in the Linux Kernel that got madded for docker. When you Run docker ON an MacBook, you Run an VM with docker. You have every time Performance issues when running vms. It makes more Sense to Run docker direct on a good machine.
It's all about the large main display either 6k or 8k... and a portrait mode display to the right or left... This allows you to write code on the main display and read very large classes at a glance on the portrait. I've used all the great keyboards and I have to say the apple magic keyboard is honestly amazing.. Quiet and fast.
