You don't know how this video just changed my life . I have decided to leave engineering after four years of struggle and depression . To go pursue my dream which is law . This really gave me courage to face my fears . We can be friends 😂 i guess coz i also struggle with making friendships i also made one friend in 4years . But honestly your video helped me a lot
I’m incredibly proud of and happy for you!!! It takes ALOT of courage and strength for someone to uproot their entire life and change careers. We should be friends☺️🫰🏾. I’m so glad I could help🫶🏾🤗
After 15 years of working I decided to do my BTech and I got 15% on my 1st test and I had really studied for it. University is tough and I'm glad you realized that it was not you but the course. Congratulations on your new path and that distinction and I suspect there'll be more. I also ended up with 3 of them in the end.
This is the most inspirational thing I’ve ever heard. I am so so happy for you. Thank you so much for sharing this. So many people often speak about how much harder it is to go back to school after having been working, so I can imagine how hard it was to work, study and be present with your family. I am so proud of you Mr Ngomz🥳. Thank you so much. I suspect I am not there to play😂.
Thank you for your story-Yoh I’m going to six years at university after metric and I truly wanna switch from Bsc in physics (I’m doingy final year though) to radiography but I’m afraid parents won’t support me on this and nsfas just dropped me nje it’s a lot !!!
Thank you for sharing this. If you are doing your final year, I suggest you see it through. You have already come a long way, so finish it and then do whatever you like afterwards. It’s easier for parents to understand you really want this if you finish and decide to go back. As for funding, apply to as many bursaries as you possibly can and be hopeful. Something will come up. Good luck🤍
As a student in my first year of Wits, I am definitely feeling the EDGE and ALONE😅 but your story just gave me HOPE! I just worry about funding though cause the one I am using is going to drop me...
I know what it’s like being there! I’m so sorry you’re going through that. But try to find other sources of funding for next year, and you can appeal with your bursary to reconsider. If you need help with study methods, check out “my 5am morning routine” and “ a day in the life of an accounting student” on my channel. All the best✨
So I’m stuck, failing bsc. Matriculated in 2018 with good marks, took bsc with hopes of getting into medicine but I’m still doing my final year. So I’m thinking of dropping out and applying for either dentistry/ pharmacy. My issue is all these 5 years after matric. Will it not raise a concern to them, what would I say I was doing? I don’t want to disclose that I’m enrolled somewhere, my academic record could jeopardise my chances of getting admitted.
Thank you for sharing this. I can’t imagine what you have been going through academically. You are in your final year, I would suggest you finish it. Because you’ve never been closer to the finish line. And also, even if you omit that you were enrolled, they might ask you what you have been doing. I hope everything works out for you, that you finally get that degree or degrees❤️❤️❤️.
Dropping out after 5 years of hard work?? Don’t do it, just focus on finishing your BSc. I also matriculated in 2018 and spent 5 years in uni due to changing courses and I’m also doing my final year, planning to start another degree next year. I know how draining and discouraging it is to do something you don’t like but just hang in there.
Giiirrrlllll... I just started watching the video and you saying, "what have I been doing for the past 6 years" since you matriculated just sunk deep into my heart because same... SAME...
Your comment just made my day 😂😂😂❤️. I definitely love meeting people who understand what real life is like and how it’s not always a straightforward process. I definitely hope we’ll have something to show for it at the end of it all❤️
Omg listening to this made me realize on how bumpy everyone 's journey is but i love the fact that uu ddnt give on what you really like keep going and yeah you're a quite reserved and not that easy to approach person coz i always see youu in lecture but i have to say i love your energy ❤🍃
I'M PROUD OF YOU MY VALENTINE. YOU'RE DOING AMAZING MAN. AND THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR JOURNEY WITH US. I AM SURE THIS WILL HELP SOMEONE REALISE THAT IT'S OAKY TO SWITCH COURSES.❤❤❤❤
My story goes like this: chemical engineering, Bcom supply chain management and this year advanced certificate in accounting science (its equivalent to second year of Bcompt accounting science).
How I wish everyone could share their story so people don’t feel alone. I started feeling like “it’s gonna be alright” when I met others going through the same thing😩
Hey I'm doing first year and im not enjoying the course I'm currently doing I want to know if I drop out whether nsfas will pay the classes I've attended so far(i started 2nd quarter this week)and also accomdation and also if they'll fund me next year if i start uni again Your response will be highly appreciated.
Hello there. If you have an agreement with NSFAS stating that they will fund you for the year, chances are they will pay for the year they signed with you. However, I am not entirely sure about whether or not they will still pay for you if you change your course. But there are plenty of other options in terms of funding that you can apply for.
Hey,I am currently at uni and I want change a course and transfer to another uni,so my only concern is bursary,I am funded by nsfas, would they allow me to change or what, can u pls do a video about that,so wena when u were transferring were u still funded by nsfas
Hey there. So I was funded by NSFAS at Wits but when I switched uni I ended up getting a bursary. I am not sure if NSFAS would have still funded me or not. I didn’t actually find out. I was just annoyed that I had to pay some of the fees myself.
@@CrownedTash Can I please ask which bursaries fund second undergraduate degree? I’ve been doing research but the ones I got don’t fund a second degree.
I'm doing my second last year😹 only left with two practical modules and praying that Nsfas doesn't drop me coz I don't have any other plan for funding. Thanks for sharing your experience
Hey there. I think so. You just have to call the university you want to go to and find out what their requirements are for changing universities. I think they differ.
I was at uni last year I applied for different uni and said I was doing gap year in my application, as I don't want to send my transcript Would they check that?
j failed accounting twice.. n on this day(12 june 2024) i was writing BMA ,TBH i wrote bad to a point that i wouldn't qualify for supp .as i m speaking i m j waiting for letter of exclusion from UJ..i do not even knw how i m going to tell my parents since they have being paying n expecting me to come back home with a degree..
Hey hey. I am so sorry you are having a hard time with academics. Can you send me an email at nkavelomnisi99@gmail.com I’ll see if I can offer some help❤️
your story is so inspiring ..❤❤❤❤❤ Is it possible to transfer from one course to another ?using results from the previous course (at UJ)…? I really wanna switch hey …like for real yoooh …. The course I’m currently doing is part time n I wanna move to full-time
Thank you so much❤️❤️❤️. I think it’s best to go to your faculty and enquire there as they will give you a more accurate response and how they would go about crediting your modules and so on.
Hey there. If you apply as a transferring student, then yes, they will want to see your academic record. However, if you apply as a matriculant (there’s an option on the application to apply as a transferring student or matric), then they might not consider your transcript.
@@HlangwaneTshehla To be honest, I’m not sure. Because when I applied they did ask for the academic record but only because I had finished matric in 2016 so it was obvious. Just keep an open mind.
I’m well aware. But I wouldn’t change anything about my decisions. The experience and wisdom I have acquired up until now is working out perfectly for this new course❤️
Hi. First I’d suggestion you call the student call centre to find out when late applications open, then you can go to SMU to try and apply (I don’t know if there’s an online option).
Thank you so much❤️. BSc general at Wits was not easy. But no course is easy. I remember doing maths, chemistry, physics, biology and maybe another module I don’t remember. What I can say about BSc general, unless you have plans to become a Scientist and are passionate about it, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s one of the harder courses and not enough employment opportunities. So I would recommend doing something specific.
@@CrownedTash Okay I hear you thanks, I have been accepted to study it at Wits and I was planning on changing it after a year or during the amendment course. BSc General is not what I want per se, but because I was accepted to study it.I have no options to choose and now I'm stressed because I don't know if I should study it or what? But if I decide to study it I'll change it on the inside, so is it easy to change from one course to another? Any advice?
@@mphombele5180 Changing courses within the university is not hard, as long as you apply for the course you want, and work really hard to get good grades. My biggest advice to you with regards to passing, is STUDY FROM DAY 1! Literally. Study from day 1, consult with your lecturers if you don’t understand something, attend your tutorials (the questions on there are usually used in tests and exams). Apply yourself. It’s not gonna be easy, but you got this🌻
@@Light-aura-s so I always check www.zabursaries.co.za for bursaries. They list which courses they fund and they closing dates along with their application processes. There’s hundreds of them there❤️.
I just want to transfer to another institution (the same course) but I noticed most of the modules Im doing right now are not the same as the ones in the other institution I want to transfer to. Does this mean I’ll start as a first year? And also can I just apply using my course marks and not my matric results? (I want to go to either wits or uj)
Hey there. I think the best thing to do is to call the university and ask to talk to the department and enquire there. Sometimes they might credit, sometimes they might not but different universities have different standards. Yes, you can apply using your course marks but your matric results will still be needed.
So when applying to other universities after leaving wits did you indicate that you were at other institutions. My marks from an institution i was studying at last year are really bad and im a afraid that if I use them to apply I could get rejected. I don't know If I did the right thing by indicating that I wasn't studying anywhere😢😢any advices please
Hey hey. When I left Wits, because it was only 1 year, it was easy to convince them I took a gap year. But when I left SMU, UJ did ask for my transcript (after they had accepted me), as it had been 5 years since leaving matric. But I still used my matric results to apply.
When you want to change courses or faculties in the same varsity do you apply the same as the first years or do you just apply for that specific course that you want?
So in my experience, it depends on the university. Like SMU, you apply like first years and take the forms to that particular faculty. With other universities, I think you apply for that specific course you want.
It could be, but I don’t want to give you false hope. Just apply and find out. When I left Wits, I had failed most of my modules but I chose not to disclose it at SMU.
@@CrownedTash not to disclose it meaning to show the institution ? like now i wanna apply using my Grage 12 results the course im in now eish just doing it cause its in the health science although i didnt want to do it
@@chokoe430 you can use your matric. They might ask for your transcript (like UJ did).. but you don’t have to disclose coz your highest qualification would be matric
1. Accounting Science 2.Business Science 3.Industrial Engineering 😂😂 Still going It wasn’t easy as I left Business Science after passing second year and I was discouraged quite a lot.. but at least a few people were encouraging ♥️♥️
I’m so proud of you for making such hard but necessary decisions. I hope you have found something you genuinely enjoy doing now and will see it through❤️❤️.
