I’ve never before seen such a lovely and organized sewing space. I am moving to a new house next week and will have a bigger quilting room. I have a long arm machine, so it will never look as nice as your space but I will try to decorate a couple corners. I always look forward to your new videos!!
Thank you Deb! So nice you are moving and get a new and bigger space to quilt. How nice to have space for your long arm too. Enjoy decorating your new room. Have fun with it too!
Thank you for the tour. This is the first time I have watched your channel. Everything is decorated so cute! I want to steal your blue floral couch!! Most everything you see in stores is solids which to me are so boring. Thanks for the video!!
You have been busy and I love all the things you have made! Thanks for the updated tour also - it’s so fun seeing how you decorate…everything is super cute!!! ❤
So much inspiration around you while in this room. Absolutely stunningly gorgeous. I just started quilting a few years ago and I’ve given them all away as gifts. Maybe I’ll get to keep some to add on my wall. Ty for sharing your beautiful things!!!!
Thank you Susan! Always excited to see your newest quilts and decorating! I want to come sew with you! Your little bear dressed like a cat in front of the Halloween kit is adorable. I just came home from Home Goods with an orange Halloween truck ! Showed my hubby your trucks in this video! 🐦⬛🕷️🐈⬛🎃
Always so happy to see one of your new videos pop up! Really love your hexie quilt and enjoy seeing all you've been working on as well as your past quilts!
As usual everything looks lovely! You have so many quilts and they all go together so well. I like how you use the kitchen bowls and things in unusual ways. Maybe I’ll put my dollhouse in my sewing room next summer. Thanks for sharing and all the inspiration!
I absolutely love the tomato quilt in your kitchen! I am going to have to make that one someday!! Happy quilting and stitching til next time! 🪡🧵🪡✂️✂️✂️🌸🌸🌸💕💕💕
The grandmothers flower quilt you just finished is so beautiful. I would never had thought to put orange binding, but it was the perfect choice! I love seeing all your fabric. You store it all so beautifully.
Gorgeous! That's what I think of your sewing room and decor! Thanks for showing it. Very inspiring. I think you won't mind if I copy some of your ideas for my new apartment thatI'll be moving to in May.
You decorate so beautifully and I always come away with ideas I can incorporate into my home. You have such talent! How many hours a day do you sew? I’ve been retired for 8 years and I don’t do half as much as you! By the way, your blouse is a lovely color on you! God bless and thank you for you sharing your obvious love for what you do so well! 🧵🪡❤️🙏
Thank you Beth! I usually sew in Tuesdays during the day at my local quilt shop open sew day. I also have a group I have sewn with since 1997. We sew together every Thursday evening. I also sew at home at different times as I have time.
This is my first time seeing your channel. I just discovered you and very much enjoyed your tour of your beautifully staged spaces. So many of your quilts had me oohing and awwing because of their beautiful variety of colours. Thanks again and see you again soon.
The t-shirt quilt would is perfect for a man. I haven't made a tshirt quilt but I would like to some day. I love your flower garden quilt. I have been working on one for 20 plus years. I need to get it out and finish it. I could do this with the extra flowers. I now have to fat quarter bundles of Lori Holt fabric and Im working on her flower basket quilt in her book Scrappiness is Happiness . I love how you used her background fabric in your flower garden quilt. Thank you for another great video.
Thank you Cindy! Your flower basket quilt will be so cute! I love Lori Holts books and patterns too! It is so fun making the grandmother’s flowers too. Just making them and gathering up the fabric is so much fun!
Always a treat for the eyes, your beautiful work on the Grandmother's Garden quilt is wonderful. I really like the way you made it so colorful and then grounded all of the colors and patterns with the solid orange binding. I love scrappy binding, but your choice of a solid binding is perfect! I love the backing on that quilt as well! Your friend's quilt for her husband is really nice; I loved the green and orange used to contrast with all of the t-shirts. Your sewing room is so sweet, homey, and full of items that must bring you joy each time you walk into your room.Thank you so much for sharing...your video was a great way to start my day!
Your Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt is lovely. I ordered the stamp and have made some flowers for my own quilt. I love the technique you shared on the last video. I always enjoy your videos.
I just love everything about your sewing room your choices of colors in your quilts. You are so talented. I started quilting seriously about three years ago. I Cannot wait till I'm as good as you. One question is how do you stay in such good shape and quilt so much? Do you workout?
Thank you for another great video. I, always look forward to them. Did you appliqué, by hand, the flowers on the grandmother’s flower garden quilt? Loved seeing it. Thank you for sharing.
Cindy, the stamps work really good. The hexagon is in the stamp and you stamp on the fabric and cut it out enough to make the grandmother’s flower and the hand sew together. The sewing lines are stamped on the fabric. It works great.
I love all your beautiful quilts. Your home is decorated so cute. I noticed your Scandinavian stars. What size are they? The ones I made are 4 x 14, they are bulky. Yours look smaller and less bulky. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Susan. Inspiring as usual. Have you been doing any cross stitching? I’ve been totally immersed in mine but I have three quilts I need to bind. I also want to do a Lucy Boston English paper piecing quilt with William Morris fabrics. It will be a small wall hanging.
Thank you Ann! I have been doing a little cross stitch. I have been doing the alphabet in different floss colors and Aida colors too. To practice as I am still new to cross stitch. Your Lucy Boston English paper piecing quilt project sounds wonderful! I made 2 quilts a few years back with William Morris fabric for friends who lived in the New England area. I am sure your wall hanging will be beautiful!
Thank you for the tour of your sewing room. It’s absolutely gorgeous. All of your quilts are beautiful!!! The grandmothers flower garden quilt- Is there a pattern for that?🌻
Thank you Judy! I made the flowers with Stamps by Kate. I did a video on how I made them. The quilt was made with layer cake and Jelly Roll. There was no pattern I used. I just put it together with 2 1/2 inch squares. Layer cake was trimmed to 8 1/2 inches after I appliqué the Grandmother’s flowers onto it.
Where can I find the pattern for Grandmothers Flower Garden? I love how you display everything in your sewing room....so pretty and neat. I love the quilts that you do.
Thank you, I made the Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt with a stamp for the hexagons from Stamps By Kate. I have the instructions on a previous video that I show. The video is the one on getting ready for my retreat last spring.
Thank you Janice! I get my quilt kits from my local quilt store the Quilt A Way and also Fat Quarter Shop and on occasion my friends tell me about special sales on kits and then we all get one and work on our kits together. That is fun too.
Thank you so much! I have gotten some of my tomato pin cushions at Joanns and on Amazon too. I have order some from Lori Holt at Fat Quarter Shop too. The wool pin cushions I bought at my local quilt store the Quilt A Way.
Thank you Linda! I don’t have a pattern for the Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt. I did a previous video explaining how I made the flowers and the size of the background. I used a jelly roll for the flowers and the scrap sashing. And a layer cake for the background which I trimmed to 8 1/2 after I appliquéd the flowers on it. The scrap sashing squares are 21/2 inch and it equaled out putting them with the 81/2 in blocks. Then on the border I cut the background to 2 1/2 by 81/2 inches. I hope this helps.
Leona, I used a stamp made for the hexagons. It is called Stamps by Kate. So no folding needed. It is stamped then cut and sewn to make the grandmother’s flower garden. I did a video earlier demonstrating how I did it and where I got the stamp and fabric ink pad from.
