My son isn't mine Legally or Biologically. I came into his life when he was 2 years old. He doesn't know I'm not his real dad. I bought us a house to raise a family in and after his mom left me are father son bond is strong and I wasnt going to leave him without a dad so I pick him up every weekend and he stays with me. I go to his school events and everything else that comes with the job

I didnt tell my two.boys that they weren't mine(.ex turn out to be a whore) until.about two months ago. My oldest developed a health issue that they wanted family history for. I sat down and had to tell both of them. It was damn hard but they didnt care I was still their dad. They are 19 and 17.

Depends on her preferred treats. If she spoils herself with chocolates, then this might work. If she prefers strawberries or something else, consider that substitution. The 10 steps backwards is a minimum. Some women can throw things more accurately and further than others. Hahaha!

My youngest son isn't biologically mine but has my last name. Hes grown up knowing the difference between a father and a dad because I always knew it wasnt his fault and couldnt see treating him any different from his siblings. Then probably a year or so after this song came out someone came out with a small book and cd with this song with it. He gave this to me as a fathers day present. Tears were shed. 😭

My wife had 2 special needs children when I met her. She said she kept waiting on me to drop the other foot and leave. I told her "I ain't skeeered" 😅 she played this song for me one night on the back porch. And I'm not one to cry , especially over a song. But my eyes puckered up and went to leaking. We've been together 7 years so far and Its been God's most precious blessing for me to be in their lives.

This song always gets me. My father came into my life when I was about seven years old and raised me as his own. In 2005 I lost my father and as a father now I pray I’m half the Dad he didn’t have to be. He was amazing

I can relate as well. My dad who raised me after my father died embodies this song 100%. Hes been gone over 10 years now and this song hits hard. I reacted to a song on my channel called Our Decades In the Sun by the band Nightwish and it made me cry like a baby. I feel you 100%

This one still makes me cry and I've heard it a million times. My mom divorced my bio-dad when I was 4. And I had 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters. But my bio-dad was an extremely violent and abusive alcoholic. When she remarried, the man I call my dad took on 5 children. He was and still is my hero. Very touching son.

This song still never fails to make me cry! Loved this song so much ever since it came out. Sadly, my step dad passed away early last year, so this song's been a little harder to listen to lately. I'll never forget everything he did for my mom and I, though, and I'll always cherish the memories I have of him. Anyway, another great Brad Paisley song to react to would be "Who Needs Pictures." It was his very first song, and I still love it today. A couple other songs I recommend are "Put Your Hand In Mine" by Tracy Byrd and "The Chain Of Love" by Clay Walker.

I met the man who's my dad when I was 3 and this song makes me cry every time i hear it. I couldn't be more blessed for having my dad in my life. God bless all you dads that didn't have to be. You are phenomenal men!!!!!

I cry everytime I hear this song. I can also relate. My husband and I have been together for 27 years. He's very close to my boys from a previous marriage. They call him dad and as far as he is concerned they ARE his boys. I'm very happy that the boys love him so much.

21 years ago I met the woman of my dreams. She let me know right up front. Her 3 kids would always be first. They ranged in age from 19 to 13. It would have been SO very easy for them to dismiss me out of hand. I let them know that I was NOT there to replace their dad, but to be what ever a dad they would let me be. I would never leave, always love, and never abandon them. Period. I have to say, I am the luckiest man alive. I have 3 amazing sons who call me Dad. I have 7 wonderful Grandkids who call me Papa and I am so very proud of each of them. Not about blood or DNA. It is about time, love, and commitment. They are without question my children and Grandkids. THAT is family.

My cousin was a single mother of a 4 year and a 2 year old when she met her second husband. He raised both children and accepted them as his own. He continued to be a father in their lives after my cousin died in 2006. He passed away in May of this year and My cousin's son posted this song on Facebook in memory of this great man.

Me and my wife fostered and then adopted 2 kids . A brother and sister . My son is now 7 and my daughter is now 11 . They have been with us almost 4 years now . They give us more than we can ever give them . ❤

My stepdad was in a hospital room in January, after multiple heart attacks in a row, and they found out and he also had advanced cancer. We both knew what that meant. One night before he passed away, I was staying overnight with him and he woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to talk. I told him how much I appreciated everything he did for me, and I played him this song and said it reminded me of him from the first time I heard it. I had only seen my dad shed a tear a couple of times in my life, but he did when that song played (so did I). I forgot to mention that he and my mom divorced almost 25 years ago, but he never ever treated me as anything but his son even after the divorce, so he was truly the dad he didn't have to be, and I miss him very very much.

I can totally relate to this song from the little boys perspective. The timeline even adds up - I was around that age when my mom met my stepdad and we were taken out of a very bad situation. I'm 32 now - song gets me every time.

I absolutely relate to this song. My mom was a single mom of three kids . Before he even met us. He said to my mom when they were on a date that he wanted to marry her. And she said you have never even met my kids. And he looked at her and said I love you so I know I’m gonna love your kids. They married when I was 8 years old. And he stepped up and was there for all of us. May of 2016 he passed away. This was also me and my dads song. I even called him dad and love and miss him everyday.

This was my father. He raised me from the age of 6 months old. I carried his last name until I joined the Army. That was how I discovered my dad wasn't my father. On the morning he died, just before I left the hospital, he told me how proud he was of me and actually said the words... "I love you son..." It took time, but I finally realized the difference between a father and a DAD. I love and miss you pop. PEACE!!

I’m not who I am today without my step father. I can never explain what he meant to me growing up , even today, and now he’s my sons most favorite person in the world! He absolutely idolizes his grandpa and it makes me so happy that he sees what I have always saw in him. Several years ago, my mother had karaoke at his birthday party and I made it a point to sing this for him. Thank you for reacting to it.

Gitana the song by Brad Paisley is a very emotions stirring song as you very well know. From what I found out the song was written about Brad Paisley's co-writer and her son. I think it's a strong tribute to all the single mothers out there with what they go through, I can only imagine myself what it must be like. From what I've heard of you talking about Donovan he's a great guy and I know you love him to death by the way you talk about him. Donovan you've got a great woman you're a very lucky man, keep treating her right and when she's needing it make sure you have plenty of chocolate on hand. My dad got together with my mum when she has a 2 year old and pregnant with me. They split when I was 10 but he is and always will be my dad... I met my partner when I was 7 weeks pregnant. I took it hard and he said to me. "Doesn't matter if we are together or just friends. I will be there for you and the baby always." We have been together since and he has been the best father to our son. Our son is almost 16 and there hasn't been a day where he hasn't been there for him and helped him out. I am blessed to have such a wonderful man who loves us both as much as he does.

I don't relate to this song through personal experience, because my parents stayed together until I was 19. But I empathize with the sentiment, and get choked up on this song. Songs about dads get to me for some reason. Dad's are important, and undervalued in today's society, I think. Loved this reaction and have actually been looking forward to you doing this one. I was 3 when my parents were divorced, my mom met my stepdad and he never had his own children but he accepted my sister and myself like we were his own. We did everything together, fishing, camping, woodworking and traveling. He was a wonderful man that did not have to accept us as his children. I loved that man with all my heart. I lost him in 2015 and my father in 2016 so this song has a special place in my heart and I cry every time I listen to it.

This song has close to home for me as well. My story is a little long but the short version is I met my husband when my son was 8 years old and he just loved him right away and included him. Which is great because my son never had a dad around. My son is now 20 and he gave us a grand daughter. My husband is awesome dad, grandfather (she calls him geumpy) and husband. So I totally understand where you're coming from as well with the song and how it hit so close to home. Thank you for sharing some of your story with us we're not alone.

I ❤ this song. My stepdad was the only dad I knew or considered. He was my daddy from the age of 2 till he died on cancer in 2005. He dedicated his life to his family & being a police officer.

I'm 66, and raised my 2 daughters from the time they were 12 and 10. It sure would have been nice meeting someone that could have been a big sister to them, or the Mom she didn't have to be. It would still be nice, even now.

This song gets me every time. My mom and dad divorced when I was two. My dad loved me and stayed in my life. My mom married my stepdad. My stepdad was amazing and always treated me as his kid in every way. He and my dad were more or less buddies. So I grew up with a big smile saying "I have two daddies!"

Donovan is awesome!!! You guys make me happy!! I am a step Dad, I met my wife when we were just leaving our teens, and she had a two year old daughter. The girls blood father was never around, still is not, I was blessed to take the role of Dad to her. Now, she is 26, she has an 8 year old daughter, Papa spoils her rotten. Her Mother and I also have one girl together who will be 21 soon. No matter how we got here, we are now a strong loving family, and I am so blessed to have walked up to the customer counter of that store that hot July day when I first met my wife! I was in a town that I had not been in before! Imagine the odds! Great reaction, you got me all misty. Love you guys! Thanks!

As a person who is in this type of situation, being the step father. I can relate to this from the other position. My current wife has 3 kids from a previous marriage, and it was nerve racking at the start. Trying not to overstep any grounds as far as the children were concerned. I did my best to show love and support to the kids, who I knew were not mine, but I treated them as if they were. Now 8 years later(5 years married), I still love the kids as much as I ever have. And I hope that I was a good example, because I am so proud of what my children have done, and have become in their lives. Its a great feeling
