Found a small casserole of early american and a big one of Crazy daisy at my great grandparents house in oklahoma! Both are my favorite patterns so I was so excited and took it as a sign to start collecting both. I have some fridgies in butterprint but I need to find the two little ones. I loved that story of the autumn harvest bowls with your grandmother, a super sweet memory!
Loved the video!! And as to the lead in the pyrex, the type of paint they used for the designs was fired on and very very durable (unless you put it in the dishwasher haha) and also it being on the outside there is no real danger of using it, unless you are litteraly scraping off the paint and eating it haha. Lead is definitely bad but I do feel some people get over zealous when it comes to lead safety. Beautiful pieces!

I collect so many vintage goodies with Pyrex being one of the top! My greatest find so far was a small casserole pot with the lid in the friendship pattern 😍 it was sitting all alone at the Salvation Army for 2.99! I’ve been searching everywhere for the snowflake pattern that is in good displaying condition! This was such a fun video ❤

What a beautiful collection! 💕 Now, don’t quote me on this but I believe they sell lead testing kits on Amazon that you just swab onto the dish and it’ll tell you if it has lead or not. Like another commentator mentioned, at this point, I’m sure it’s okay? Thank you for taking time to upload for us after a busy family weekend, I’m sure!

Yes! From what I could gather, it sure does. I’m going to keep it in my China cabinet until I can confirm it myself. But from all the readings that I’ve done, it contains lead… and that makes me so sad.😭
Understand your caution re the lead but if you've been using them for 25 years with no ill effects then that probably tells you that you'd be fine to use them for the next 25. As you live in an old property you've probably already come into contact with lead in older paint on walls and woodwork.
You are probably right, Michelle.💕 When I told my husband to not use them until I confirmed if they had lead or not, his reply was “what about lead withdrawals, how bad is that?” So he’s on the same page as you.😉

She was taking a whole bunch of samples that I actually never even noticed the dermatologist had samples. but I said I couldn’t use it. It was CeraVe. I have never been able to use their products. Anyway, we got on the fragrance and she was saying that she liked black orchid by Tom Ford, but it’s so expensive so she uses Chanel number five and I asked her I said didn’t you notice that Chanel doesn’t smell the same anymore because they have removed Notes out of that fragrance. But she didn’t know so I didn’t bother getting into with her. But she did explain how TF black orchid it smelled to her so then when I got home I looked up the notes and seem to be something I would like, because I like Chypre family of perfumes best . But there main note is oakmoss which they cannot put in perfume anymore, so changes the composition of many perfumes. I have to smell the Cherry and the other one you bought in NYC. I don’t know if I’ve been around so much fragrance when I was working in my career for years that I just don’t think it last long enough but I could just be used to all fragrance. But My Son❤️ would beg to differ because he says he can smell me the minute I walk in the house so he says, but I don’t believe him I did put the cotton ball with fragrance in my car that worked out GREAT 👍 great idea LINDY. thank you!!!🙏 Have a great week until your next video. You don’t know how many times I go back to your videos just for things that you made or did I am definitely going to make my own laundry detergent and cleaning supplies. I always used method cleaning supplies but I’m going go your route now because I think it’s better to be as all natural as possible. Method products is fairly natural but your idea is much better!!🌸🌸💖💖 plus it’s much more economical and since I wanna move so badly. I am definitely have to look going towards going down south, but will not go to Florida because it’s too hot and I live there before one point in my life. On my maternal side my grandfather was Cherokee Indian and was from I think Tennessee and then moved to Cherokee North Carolina or vice versa. But ended up in Philadelphia when he got out of the Navy. So we’ll see I like Virginia as well. Luckily, I don’t have to really take too much into consideration to where I live. My Son❤️ will never be able to move due to his job. I smiled when you talked about doing a trade. My son was in college for computer engineering and dropped out and went into the insulators union, so he’s insulator so he has to stay in the Philadelphia /New Jersey area because that’s where his union is located. And of course you talked about salaries and yes, he has a very high salary and people don’t really understand when you’re in a trade the amount of money that you actually make not that money is everything of course, but today’s economy certainly helps. He could work nonunion if you wanted to move. But Five years of apprenticeship I doubt he would do it so he may as well just stay put and I least I know where he’ll be living in this area is so expensive up here. This is fascinating, Esme! You teach me something new every time you comment. I have never in my life heard of the Chypre family of fragrances until this moment. I looked it up and this is the definition that I got "Chypre is a fragrance accord with a warm and dry scent profile that is centered around 3 key notes: bergamot, oakmoss and labdanum." I JUST bought a new fragrance oil for my soap and candles that is called Lavender & Labdanum! So, because of you, I know now that Labdanum is in the Chypre family. Very cool! And I hear what you are saying about losing your sense of smell after being around perfumes...I never worked in the fragrance industry. However, for a time I had a thriving soap and candle business and my sniffer became dulled. Hope your evening is great! xoxo
