Abigail, Just finished watching both of your "collection" videos! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. You've got a great sense of humor and seem to be a very happy person. Loving music, and especially vinyl, sure helps. I would like to see you do a video about yourself and your musical journey. How did you learn about all of these albums that are more from my era than a young person such as yourself? Sounds like your dad may have influenced your musical interests. What are you musical firsts and favorites? What's on your wish list? What audio equipment are you using and are you looking to upgrade over time? Do you have a Blu-ray or DVD player and watch music videos? Lots to go over! Based on what's in your music collection, I would highly recommend you seek out material from these two musicians: 1. Joe Bonamassa (Joe opened up for BB King when he was 11 years old!) The album I am recommending also includes a song Joe played with Eric Clapton, Further on up the Road). Check out "Joe Bonamassa - Live at Royal Albert Hall". This one is my favorites of his! Talk about energy and passion! This is a visual treat as well, so if you have a Blu-ray player, or even just a DVD player, I would get that for sure. You can see the full concert, and his others, on You Tube to get a taste of what JB is all about. Many are on vinyl and available discounted at times on his website. I find his live concerts are better than the studio albums. 2. Linda Ronstadt - I was really surprised your collection had no LP's from her. She started out with the Stone Poney's . . . Different Drum, Long Long Time, both around 1967. Her first 4 solo albums are the best. She has so many beautiful hit songs: Tracks of My tears, You're No Good, Lose Again. I Can't Help It if I'm Still In Love With You, When Will I be Loved? She tried, and succeeded, in just about every genre possible. She even did 3 albums with Nelsen Riddle and his orchestra as well as a great well recorded album with Aaron Neville (Don't Know Much). I really think you would appreciate her music. OK that's enough rambling. Keep the enthusiasm going Abigail!!!! PS: One more, sorry . . . . Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's live "Four Way Street" double album! Extended versions of Southern Man, Carry On and Ohio. Some of the best live guitar, harmony you'll ever hear. Hard to find, but you'll be happy you did. JM

I so much love this. I was mesmerized. Thank you so much. I was thrilled to see High Tide and Green Grass, an album that in the 60's made me forget about my Beatles 65 and Beatles 6. Many albums that I have gone through the years. Glad to see Vanilla Fudge in there. I miss, though, Patti Smith ( I love her Easter) and the Ramones and the Clash (the early Clash before London Calling).. Thank you thank you for this.

You need to check out Scott Walker. He was part of the Walker Brothers who came from America and found fame in the UK in 1965. Scott went solo in 1967 and made some amazing record's through from Scott 1 to 4 then his record's were sporadic becoming more avant-garde. He was also a brilliant film composer Vox-Lux being the last film he did before he died in 2019. He was so ahead of his time and absolutely gorgeous looking too. Thank you America for sending Scott, John Walker and Gary Walker to us.

Hi Abby, I just saw your videos for the first time this weekend. Both pt 1 and 2 of your collection and Basement Tapes. Excellent collection. May I ask how you've accumulated your collection? You said you started 5 yrs ago. Did a relative get you going on all the 60s and 70s music? I'm retired, my wife and I live just outside of Ann Arbor, MI. I worked in the music business most of my life and currently have about 1,300 vinyl lps and 400 CDs. I'm also a huge Bob Dylan fan. Have you seen the Movie, "The Last Waltz" yet? I noticed you had the LP. Best rock concert movie of all time and Bob Dylan was at his absolute best at the end of the film. A Must watch. I'll continue to check out your record videos, you do a very nice job. Look forward to seeing more. Mark in MI

i got my collection started through craigslist, facebook marketplace, and word of mouth - if someone had albums they wanted off their hands, i picked them up regardless of what it was! discovering 60s and 70s music happened through record collecting. i grew up with 80s/90s stuff because that's what my parents listened to. dad was big into grunge, so to discover how closely linked all of that was to psych rock was kind of mindblowing! i haven't seen the last waltz yet! had the album but had no idea it was a movie soundtrack until someone told me haha

I believe The Last waltz is now on Either Netflix or Prime, so I really recommend you watch it. You'll be blown away. I think it will be right up your alley. Hey, we listened to Basement Tapes on Friday night after being inspired by your video. Was a great night! Thank you again for your response. Stay safe, take care, Mark in MI

Ye need to get some The Stooges in that collection. The Stooges "Funhouse" is mindblowing 🤯 Also Thin Lizzy. Philo is probably the coolest frontman ever...🎸 And the amazing Rory Gallagher. When Jimi Hendrix was asked, “How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world ?” he replied, “I don’t know, go ask Rory Gallagher”. Eric Clapton once told the BBC that it was Gallagher who “got me back into the blues”. Brian May copied Rory's playing style and copied his Rigs & Equipment. Johnny Marr says Rory was his inspiration to start playing Guitar. And Slash ! Source out Slash talking about Rory Gallagher... he is in awe of the guy, and how much it meant to him that he got to play with Rory live on stage. Great Collection, Great Taste, Great Style...✌ .

The interview I saw with Jimi Hendrix the interviewer said "you're considered to be one o' the greatest guitarists in the world". He then said his favorite guitarist was a guy from Texas named Billy Gibbons whose band The Moving Sidewalks had opened for him...

Citerdal is such a great song. It is up there with She's A Rainbow and Ruby Tuesday. I seriously got into Jesus Christ Superstar when I was a teenager. We actually had the album. The album came with a libretto of the songs. You should seriously do that for Vinyl Monday. Maybe do the episode for the Monday before Easter. It's a great record. Yevon Elilliman was Mary Magdalene in the brown album and in the movie version. And what's his name was Jesus. He was a member of Deep Purple. I found a nice copy at a store called 2nd & Charles. I believe what's her name who did I Am Woman recorded I Don't Know How To Love Him and that became a hit. Hellen Reddy, that's her name.

Perhaps you should do a video on why the music of the sixties. I am turning 73 in July and I grew up with most of the music you've presented. So I am wondering why younger generations want our music. Of course I am happy to see it and I don't want it ever to die but when I grew up Elvis and those of his generation represented the opposition. When I was in high school in the 60's the only thing that mattered was what was happening now. I remember in 64 in Grade 9 the Supremes Baby Love. Nothing else mattered in my life at the time.

Why is this video SO much louder than part 1? I don't understand why everybody hates the studio Ummagumma! That was their best album!! I guess it's like, why so many people hate "Revolution 9': they just don't understand what it took to make it! Even just Nick Mason's track took a TON of work to put together!! I should know! I did one similar to that back in the late `80's and, even though the finished track was only :48 long, it took me 13 hours to create it!! and, al I used was my voice!! He used all kinds of percussion sounds and had to keep track of each of them and where they went in the finished track!! Harum is pronounced just like harem. Satanic Majesty's should've been a 10" album. The rest is garbage. A bunch of 10 year olds could've done better! Does "Sticky Fingers" have the balloon in the jeans? Stray Cats' music was called, "Rockabilly' because it's rock with a mix of country/hillbilly, just like how Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins started out. Does "Seven Separate Fools" have the cards in it? Does the banana on The Velvet Underwear peel off? I have only one of the records from "Rhapsody In Blue" and would love to hear the others. The one I've got has two tracks on one side! It was the first 78 I've ever seen with more than 1 track per side! What's wrong with Weezer? They're great! I love power pop! New wave was great! Second only to psych!! Woodstock is, basically, a soundtrack, not a compilation. Most of the music on it was taken from the movie. Woodstock 2 through 5 was recordings from the full concert but not much of it was in the movie. If you want the entire concert, I've got it! A lot more than what Randy (or, was it, Andy?) Zax put on that 38 CD collection a few years ago! Edison Lighthouse is from the early `70's. Just before music turned the shit. What's an OG? Which Beach Boys was on American Graffiti? If the movie was about the `50's, they SHOULDN'T have had Brian Wilson's group on it! Where's all you XTC records??

I saw Rush in a beach pavilion in 1975. I ushered the show. This place was a circular 200 foot building. It was mostly all glass windows. That was the first time I saw a wall of Marshall Amplifiers. There was only about 40 people there; when they walked up on stage. I pulled up a folding chair; sat down; about 50 feet from the stage. They played there first album, all the way through. They were so loud; I couldn't believe it. I thought they might break the glass in that building.

He was my favorite Beatle too. I wanted to look like him when I was a kid. Sorry Dad. You were also my hero. I ended up looking like my dad. Good enough.

You should buy an album by the band the Strawberry alarm clock! I'm sure it's the kind of music you would love.

Just watched your two collection videos and enjoyed them very much. After learning your music taste, I've got to recommend XTC, especially "Skylarking", produced by Todd Rundgren.

What t table is that? I’m surprised you don’t have folklore and evermore since you’re a Joni fan. LDR is my favorite now. She gets better every album, B Bannisters is awesome. The paradise ep is too and It is still reasonably priced. Check out M.I.A. too , I just discovered her myself.

it’s an audio-technica AT-LP3, decided to put the stickers on it last year! i don’t get many new pressings, but for how much i enjoy folklore/evermore i’ll pick them up eventually

@@abigaildevoe the flowers are cool 🌸. I know a girl who put daisies on her firearm 😆 those 2 latest t s albums are reasonably priced for now. Her albums go up/down in price. I was lucky to get her rsd 45. LDR albums are still pricey though.
