If you say the entirety of linux is harder than building a hackintosh then I'm sorry but I'll have to disagree you, there are nowadays distros that would have no need to open the terminal unless it's for very specific situations. for example let's use popOS. An incredibly and beautiful Linux distro that is easily accessible to the average PC user for day to day tasks like listening to music, watching Netflix ( though you'll have to use the web browser version), discord and gaming (both steam proton and lutris) though of course if you are required to do other tasks like video editing then you can use Davinci resolve (yes there's a native linux version of the editing software in fact iirc it was originally built on Linux and ported over to windows and mac) though if your work requires Adobe then you would either have to duel boot (and that's a horrible idea considering windows 10's love for destroying anything that isn't windows 10 on the storage device) or if you're PC is powerful enough you can use KVM an amazing hyper visor that is better than hyper V if you know what you're doing that as well for anti cheat enabled games (and video editing) though you would have to have a a secondary GPU for passthrough or a single GPU that supports Sr iov with the mobo as well supporting though I'm unsure on that one . All in all? Linux is for people who doesn't mind tinkering with it to suit their needs and won't head butt them on everything plus the fact that it doesn't violate their Privacy like a certain OS and btw building a hackintosh is a headache worse than installing gentoo without the manual due to it's intricacies like dealing with "supported hardware for building hackintosh" bricking because apple released an update with the intention to brick said support.

@@boratlmao I agree with all of that, linux has never been better, it's a great os especially for people that only use their computers for content consumption and Linux is also the undisputed champion of servers, BUT, everything that mutahar sed makes it waayyy more complicated than it needs to be, hackintosh isn't as hard nowadays, especially if you build the PC with Mac compatibility in mind, and that isn't that hard, practically ANYTHING made by Intel is compatible, and VM or not you still need a second gpu for Mac because they don't support Nvidia gpus, and dual booting isn't that hard ESPECIALLY if you use two drives, which you would have to because of how macos formats drives, what I'm saying is that you can build a hackintosh and dual boot any other os on it, sure the building is more complicated and frustrating than just building a Linux machine but it makes day to day work flow A LOT smoother, and proton altho great is not perfect, there are still too many games that don't run on it for a normal gamer to consider it as a solid choice

@@theflawedamy I see I've should've mentioned that gaming on Linux is better than ever but there are still issues like anti-cheat clients and every PC gamer's bane; DRM schemes. Not to mention VR support though with Valve's support and the combined power of the open source community things will hopefully get better. And while it's Interesting to know that building hackintoshes became easier but I doubt it would stay like that considering Apple's recent decision to change architectures. By the time apple would drop x86 support i would wager we would have to use QEMU since it can emulate ARM. But anyways it was a great talk

@@neverendinchaos4800 not everyone has that kind of hardware to run a vm and game at same time you need a good cpu and 2 gpus(yes you able do it with single gpu but you wont be able use your host system when you use the vm)

I used to use Chrome growing up. I'm too dumb to switch my OS, but I still had problems with Chrome after a while. Maybe I was just a silly middle schooler who clicked on shady things but these one anti-virus installed some weird extensions onto Chrome. It changed my homepage to some obscure search engine that gave very bad results. Also, the main advantage folks told me about Chrome is that it was fast, but it wasn't. Same speed as IE or Opera, no better. Firefox has become by far my favorite since early high school and I cry whenever coworkers suggest I use Chrome.

yo could try using an nvidia tesla as your gpu, they are cheap powerful and don't have outputs which may work for a virtual machine

@@inactivepleasegoaway oh damn, yeah man. I set it up with a single gpu passthrough and it worked out great. On some occasions bugs slip through the kernel and I had to rollback / update when they get fixed but it works solid for the most part. Win11 and macOS monterey with an RX580 and a couple of tweaks 👌 What I’ve noticed is I rarely enter the VMs these days, I just use arch instead natively
