Excellent idea to have a Whispering Willow Dahlia collection! So much gardening advice and books are from Northern writers, and it would be so nice to get tubers from the South, from someone who has grown them down here.

Hi! For Cafe Au Laite (spelling?) dahlia Bio Tone fertilizer might help you get longer stems. The Garden Answer people use it, so that where I learned of it.

Dahlias are almost worth any drama 😂 I couldn’t recommend enough to check out Jenny Love from no till flowers on how to leave them in the ground through the winter. It eliminates one of the scariest and time consuming parts which is digging up the tubers and storing for winter. I’ve done this method for 4 seasons now and haven’t lost a single dahlia. Of course all regions are different so it may not work for everyone but I thought I’d throw it out in case it helped anyone. And pinch pinch pinch. Welcome to the dahlia addiction ❤

Hi. You can ask on these vlogs, I hope they help you with your needs for the garden for the flowers. Flower Hill Farm Garden Answer Kelly Lehman She is more into hydrangeas and P. Allen Smith He mentioned a alum to keep the steam of the flowers get fresh for long time so they don’t die, and its something people use to make hotdog…….

I am super anxious for your book to be in my hands! My gardens are thriving. I took an herbalist course for 7 months. Now I want to start creating inventory and have been testing products on friends, family and coworkers for free. I’m hoping your book helps me shift a little to the business end so I can eventually retire with a small business to run from home.

This is my first year growing a lot of dahlias too! I have around 35 varieties growing in my small backyard garden in PA. I definitely have to take trellising more serious next year. I have a variety I’m growing called Wine Eyed Jill Yellow and it’s beautiful. My first bloom opened yesterday. There is also one called Wine Eyed Jill. I highly recommend it, plus it has your name in it.

I did not pinch my dahlias this year, and have noticed the stems are super thick. I will not skip this step next year. Not sure if you pinched yours or not, but I’m sure as the temperatures go down you will see more growth since the dahlias tend to stunt in the high heat. Best wishes and good luck to you on your dahlia dreams!

I love some of the different Dahlia varieties too. I have two thus far from tubers; I too am having difficulty supporting their size and weight. One of the two is a favorite and is beautiful. I hope to get a few more in the future.

Growing Dahlias has always been a dream of mine too! We lived in Oregon in a rain forest for 30 years and I would always try to grow a few in pots but we just didn't have enough sun for them to thrive. We moved to NW Arizona last year and a friend gifted me 50 assorted tubers. It's been such a joy! Enjoy and best wishes on your dream!

Hi! Lovely flowers! I wish you the best with your dreams! I enjoy watching your channel. I would like to tell you about another channel I really enjoy. ""Flower Hill Farm" She is zone 6 upstate New York so has a different season but her passion is FLOWERS! Really gets into the business of growing a large variety. I think you would really enjoy her channel. Best of luck to you and may God bless your family! PS I ordered your starter pots last year. Loved them!

So, I will follow with interest. Do the tubers "have" to be dug and replanted inbetween growing season! If not I know after a time they'd need to be divided. Or, is it personal choice and or growing zone? Did you find the seeds turned into tubers? That is interesting. I didn't realize that was a way to start them. I wonder if other tubers can be started by seed - iris, tulips, etc. The short steamed flowers could be put in small squatting vases. Some tables etc prefer a small compact arrangement. Just a thought. In any case I will enjoy learning along side you! 💜😊😎

This is the 1st yr I've ever grown Dalhia's, my sister had some beautiful royal purple ones in her yard so I fell in love, I went our local retail store one day & found them in the back of the store on clearance, 3 marked down to $3.99 so I grabbed a few, couple wks after that I went to the store again they only had a couple left so I grabbed what they had left. So far I've had two beautiful light yellow blooms & I'm hooked, I don't usually bother digging things up & never had issues, but I will dig these up & learn what I need to do so I can have these beautiful flowers for yrs to come. Any info you can share is greatly appreciated.
