A year ago I posted "I would have died to have had that experience you did....", well I did! Spent a few weeks in the UK with almost a week in London. Rented a home across the street from Macca's house. Walked by every day then headed over to Abbey Road in the evenings. I was extremely lucky to be there when I was sent an invitation from Abbey Road Studios for a tour. Along with three other guys, played the final chord on the actual pianos from A Day In The Life......surreal experience. Perhaps one day I'll create a RU-vid channel similar to yours and share my many experiences as well as collection of gear. Nah....I doubt I will ever do that 🙂 It truly was a magical time for this life long Beatles fan. I also went out to Hog Mill Studios.......that is a whole other story!!!
Just attended the 2024 Stories in Sound lecture in Studio 2. What an absolute joy and thrill to fulfil a lifelong ambition. They seem to do this lecture every few years so don't miss the next chance is my advice to any fan that's never been. Absolutely magical day
Great video! I’ve been lucky enough to go to all of the lectures. Every time they come up my wife says not again! But how can you refuse a day out in London and a tour round Studio 2. I’m actually in this video just before you go into the echo chamber. The talks are good as you say but have hardly changed over the years, even the jokes are in the same place! Still, it’s a great time and if you’re a fan of music, particularly The Beatles, it’s definitely worth the trip. Talking of the red chairs, at one of the lectures several years ago, we actually got to sit on them, not the modern replacements that they put out now. Once again, great video.
I would have loved to have been able to sit on one of the red chairs for the lecture! I saw other pictures of earlier lectures when people were allowed to sit in them. Must have been awesome!
I crossed the road, stood at the open gate and gazed at the building where it all happened. To be able to go inside as you did would be a life's dream come true.

So very cool to be so close to the original equipment. I am sure it wasn't cheap, but I completely understand how it was worth it! I saw those Pultecs and my heart ached! Cool video Mr. P!

Thanks for the tour! I have always wanted to see studio 2. I was the sound engineer for classic albums (VH-1) but I live in NY. I know the show filmed there a few times, but they hired UK engineers, of course. Nice to see much of it is the same as it was during the 60's. I would love to record there, pretty expensive, but if I win the lottery I am going!

I also have all the plugins of most of this stuff including the Challen and Mrs. Mills piano. It's amazing to see the gear itself in video never mind in person.
I was gonna go earlier this year, when they opened all 3 studios. But they did not allow photos. Obviously, they did here. I hope they offer the same lecture series again next year. I consider Studio 2 Holy ground. It's a lifelong dream to stand in studio 2!
I saw that and couldn’t understand the decision. The lectures have been on for a few years now and are always sold out so keep you eyes peeled for 2022. I keep going back each time and wouldn’t miss them.
