This comment 💯 I randomly came back to this video after AGT came up in my recommendations and I DISTINCTLY remember Sal and V. Incredible and then I remembered he lost and got mad all over again 😂😂😂 ok she has a dog and somebody has cancer. Whatever. THIS GUY THO was amazing. I remember his finale performance and actually voting for him. He was amazing.
Six years later, this is still one of my all-time favorite auditions. That golden voice and the HUGE personality, with so much charm... it was impossible to not adore Sal :)
@@PepperSprayed-bc5deNo lol. He’s released music which is on Apple Music. He’s doing just fine, no need to hate on him because you’re unhappy with yourself.
Just met this man at a Birthday party, let me tell you his voice is perfect. But his personality is even better, he's the nicest guy in the world. Thanks for the memories Sal, we loved hearing you sing tonight.
Who's here in 2024 ? Still one of my favourite songs and audition. He's as good as the original song. ❤ Can't believe no one made a reality TV show of the family !
I'm sure Tommy's cousin Angelica doesn't love it, though. She's probably jealous, even though she shouldn't be, because she's attached to her Cynthia doll.
HELLO! I HOPE YOU CAN CHECK MY VIDEO OUT AND GIVE ME SOME FEEDBACK! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ds9XdCgRIrU.html THANKS IN ADVANCE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU!
Fun fact is: i'm italian, there's no italian who acts and looks like this. They are more like italians from the '50s, mostly stereotypes. Still great singer and i love him
@@pregno1421 what does that have to do with anything I said. The OP said theyre leaning into the fact that theyre italian, but no thats just how they are in NY. His exact mannerisms and the way he speaks is probably not hammed up, if it is not by much.
I’d say it was more of a Tony Bennett reference, since his version WAS better, & therefore, the song’s more synonymous w him. But yeah, we do agree that it WAS a reference.
@@razeenrajaful Bruh, Sinatra did not write “The way you look tonight,” it was written by Jerome Kern. & that wasn’t even my point. Tony Bennett’s version, i.e. the slow version, is the one that is the most SYNONYMOUS with the song, and also the one that most people have heard. Sinatra’s version has more of a jolly spin, which, while has its own charm, is kinda off-putting, given the vibe of the lyrics. Hence, people usually associate the song with Tony Bennett’s version. It’s just that many people don’t KNOW that the slow version is by Bennett, they assume that both versions were sung by Sinatra, & in fact, many don’t even know of the existence of the “jolly” upbeat version. Bennett’s version was used in Friends, but most people thought that was Sinatra.
It's a rare thing to be able to go out there as a complete stranger to the crowd and have them love you and become a fan that fast. He has real talent.
This man and his family radiate absolute goodness. I love Sal's voice it is something you never really hear anymore! His charisma, his presentation, it's everything! Even all these years later.
He deserved it, in my opinion. Even though he came in 5th, he still has a career ahead of him. He does have that ability to imitate Frank or Dean's "old school charm", and his vocals are on point and his ability to carry a note and bring emotion through what he sings is just as impressive.
cainster in my home town (Huntington Long Island) he had a show booked after americas got talent and demand was so high to see him perform live. that they had to schedule another four extra shows!!!!
It's guys like this who come far but don't win that get the careers. It's the winners that get a shitty one hit/album deal, get dropped, and end up nowhere.
Honestly it was probably the stage prescence. They've never had someone on with this much stage prescence and ability to move the room without a sob story.
i remember watching this live, im glad this came up again!! i watched this live as a 15 year old girl who lovessss the oldies like frank sinatra. this one touched my heart.
This song, specifically this video of Sal singing, makes me cry every time. Like I ball my eyes out and it's only at the end when Nick and Sal's cousin start cheering and everyone's clapping.. just something about it makes me so emotional to the point of literal snot-nose baby crying. Everytime. It's so strange too cause I listen to Frank Sinatra sing it all the time and nothing, no tears, but when Sal sings and everything else is happening just makes sound so triumphant.
My ears are fine , i suggest you do the same. Very mediocre, the type of voice you expect in a karaoke bar. Good voice nonetheless but mediocre. Cheers.
Omg I was breathless with Heidi’s decision 😮😮😮 he deserved that🎉 bc he sang my favorite song of all time.I listened to it in my car, shower, gardening basically everywhere and when I do listen, makes me do things I have never had either chance, or courage to to do my way
-italian family -delivers pizza -Big tommy looks like he’s a part of the Mafia -eats pizza in introduction -Intro song is Mambo Italiano from Dean Martin You can’t get more Italian *American* than this Edit: yeah i guess it's more Italian American
Stephen Reaves I'm tired of people like you just demeaning people's beliefs just because they don't match yours, I myself am not Christian and don't believe in heaven but at least I respect others beliefs no matter how illogical they seem to me, you my friend just wasted 5 seconds of your life to type something out of spite to achieve what? Satisfaction in others opposition and pain from your opinion... the definition of evil.
One of my fave gd auditions in the history of the show. I try to watch it every few months. From his talent, his charisma, to his personality and yeah, 'the way he talks', I just love every second. How yu' doin?
This guy is a born entertainer......he seems like he has been doing this for a lifetime...so comfortable on stage..and that smooth voice....Sinatra reincarnated...pretty amazing
You are correct. He was there to entertain and entertain he did. His confidence in himself is amazing. He took charge of the stage like a boss. I want his album.
This made me so happy to watch! Seeing this man...sing that song..I mean. Simon's right, you either have it in you or you don't emotionally to sing a song as powerful as that. This was a beautiful sight to see. His performance was basically flawless in my mind. It was beautiful. ❤
Got an Italian accent, got that cousin who looks like he's the head of the Mafia, he delivers pizza and he sounds exactly like Frank Sinatra when he sings. I wanna marry this dude no homo though
I come back to this clip a couple times a year because it's so amazing. Boy comes in and is just dropping rizz from beginning to end. Some people come out nervous, my man Sal came out and immediately hit on Heidi. Guy has the perfect amount of confidence without being cocky and enough charisma to be just an absolute joy to watch perform. King of kings.
I love it Remembered when I first saw it Was in the I loved as a kid and still is So he didn't win, Oh Wow But that okay because I read the comments how he is doing 👍
