Thanks Paul ,another great video, it’s a long time since I used paste ,must be 15 years but going to give it another go. Back then it was Swimstim Betaine green g/ bait and I fed 2 mm green micros formed into a marble size and dropped it. Thanks again and looking forward to next video and also trying paste again .
Swimstim still makes a good paste. In the next video I discuss feeding when fishing paste and I prefer bigger baits like 6mm pellets to corn and regard micros as last resort as they can draw too many fish into the swim and cause foul hooking problems.

I prefer to make it on the morning before I set off, only takes a few minutes, but night before and then in the fridge works. I’ll cover the float again at the start of the next video for you.
Good tip about the fine groundbait that you can turn into a paste, I did not know that. I will definitely give that one a try! I have used one to one paste in the past, not sure why this is but sometimes the texutre of the paste gets really grainy and doesn't stick together that well. I have another question, when you add water to the groundbait, does it makes a difference if you add the water first and then the groundbait or first the groundbait and then the water for making it into a paste? I know an old angler that use hot water to make his paste, I don't know if this does make a difference in texture or stickiness.
I’ve always added water to the groundbait, but if you’re going to stir it together I doubt it makes much difference, it’s the quantities that matter. I’ve never tried hot water but know anglers who have mixed groundbait with hot water as it makes it more inert (so they told me). Not sure I’d want the paste to be inert, I like it giving bits off and flavour in the water. It’s all trial and error and will depend on individual groundbait used, they all behave slightly differently.
