We have a white dove we rescued. We call him Gus...not sure if he's male or female but it is what it is. He laughs just like the bird in your video! He also coos like you would expect a dove to and once in awhile he bucks quietly like a little chicken. The laugh is creepy but he's honestly a really great pet. We keep him inside because it gets cold outside during the winter and we worry some kind of predator will get to him. He has a huge cage in our living room where he can watch the people and cats and dogs go by (he laughs at the dogs). Very gentle animal. Super low maintenance. Love him.
Make sure you get 2 because they like company, and make sure you get 2 females or a male and a female. is better 2 females so they are quiet. Wish you the very best!
Male- tend to pump their troat feather and spread ther tails and makes a sound if they mate. Female just wait to get mated lol. Its like male has to impress the ladies to score. Good luck
great video! just a few little details in case amateur bird owners are wondering, the exact type of bird germagic2 has is an albino Ringneck dove. albino as in it has a certain genetic mutation, blah blah blah, they're white. white doves are just a lot more common because of selective breeding for the past few millennia. and also about mites, if you do decide to let your doves nest, don't let them use the same nest twice. mites are invisible killers that love nothing more than eating dove shit and infesting newborn babies. make sure the environment is sanitary or you're gonna have a bunch of dead birds. i'm not criticizing, truly!!! i just wanted to throw in some of my own knowledge in hope of painting a clearer picture for the viewers :)
I just got a pair of ringneck doves. The female is white, the male is grey. They are already pretty used to humans, the female will sit with me and step up. The male is a little more flighty. They are both still young and haven't laid eggs yet.
I feed about 75 pigeons in the mornings. They are waiting for me when I get up and once they eat they head out. The other morning a small (obviously young) dove landed on a gate. I went right up to it and picked it up. I brought it in as we have lots of raptors here. So far can't find anyone locally through FB and rescue that lost a dove. It is the albino ring neck dove. If no one claims it I would like to find her/ him a companion. I am learning about these sweet birds through You Tube! No idea if girl or boy. Don't want to raise them...just enjoy them. HELP!
They cost about 15 each and if you get them get them in pairs. The easiest way is to get the dove that is on the nest and another opne that looks big, that will be male and female They love to take showers at least once a week!

I own two white doves and they laid eggs today, and I'm pretty nervous. What happens when the female lays eggs? Do I need to purchase different food for the babies or do I just leave them alone.
germagic2 Hello, umm my 2 baby birds (born about a month ago) Started walking and realized bothed of them has at least one cricked leg, like it twits a bit, is it normal? Would it be normal when they are about 2 months old? (by the way they walk just fine but the leg concerns me) One of the baby birds (1 month and a half month old) Can already perch on my finger, but i can feel his twisted leg! im not sure if its normal.. I think its very difficult in some species like this one. One way is to observe how they act during mating season. Males usually puff up their neck feathers to show of to the girls. If you have for example two birds you could also check how many eggs they lay. One female lays about 2 every time and if you get more there are probably more than one female.
