As others have said, the padawan that got away in the beginning, Caleb, was Kanan from Rebels. Remember when Kanan really hated clones when he met Rex and his crew? It was because of order 66.

Oooohhh... You're about to get a bunch of crap but it's an honest mistake to forget that Kanan's name is Caleb. I enjoyed the vid like always and am glad y'all started The Bad Batch.

Dee Bradley Baker is the voice of all clones in animation. And then some. From Star Wars, to voicing Appa and Momo in Avatar:TLA, Perry the platypus, to having voiced characters in games like Gears of War and Halo. I recommend looking up his other works. Truly a master talent.

Crosshair’s character arc is amazing and gets more interesting later on. The highs of the Bad Batch hit super good.

Holden recognizing the training room but not Kanan. Mixed feelings about that one. But man, that Order 66 scene is tragic. Kanan's fear and confusion, Depa's dying screams echoing. It's one thing to hear about him having survived Order 66 and his master dying but seeing it happen still gives me a feeling of dread.

Caleb is Kanan… We also saw him in Jedi Tales, the episode where Ahsoka was training against the Clones. He was watching he training against the droids at the beginning.

This show really makes everything about troopers between 3 & 4 make sense and ties everything together perfectly.

The Jedi padawan is Caleb Dume aka Kanan! Also, I agree that Omega is just kind of okay

Bad batch is such a beautiful show, it's art style shows they learned so much from clone wars and rebels, season 2 somehow looks prettier a lot of shots cause easily be desktop backgrounds. Be sure to always take a moment to admire how gorgeous this show in its own. I'd love a bad batch or just any star wars in this art style for a video game on PS5 that would be so cool

6:10 Uh... did you forget that Caleb Dume is Kanan Jarrus? There was a Rebels episode (the one titled "Dume") that explained it. Kanan (real name Caleb) is Depa Bilaba's padawan (and Depa Bilaba was the padawan of Mace Windu). Also, this scene went pretty differently in the books (which are also Disney canon... it's a mess). 8:10 "Omega" is one of the two unaltered Jango Fett clones (the other being "Alpha" aka. Boba Fett). - "Unaltered" means "not indoctrinated/programmed, rapidly-grown, or physically-enhanced" (as standard clones are). No idea how she's female, though. - Also, it's possible they just flipped her sex from male to female. It's also worth noting that most Mandalorians are blonde with blue eyes. 10:50 The reason Wrecker survived that hit from a live round is because Clone Force 99 is outfitted with Katarn-class armor (the same issued to Republic Commandos). It is MUCH stronger than any standard clone armor. 12:00 Notice that they told Tarkin there are *five* enhanced clones, though Clone Force 99 only consists of *four* enhanced clones. Echo is a regular clone. 19:42 "Where'd you learn to do that?" She's genetically Mandalorian, like every clone. It's kind of an innate thing for them.

I may be blinded by nostalgia for the clone wars, but I do love this show. Some episodes are kinda meh, but when this show is good, it's really good.

This show is such a welcome addition! While s2 of Bad Batch was airing, they also had s3 of Mando airing on those same days, so I’d watch both new episodes b2b I STILL contend that EVERY week Bad Batch went head to head with Mando s3, Bad Batch was the better product every single time. Can’t wait to see your reactions to that later half of s2 of BB

9:34 Fun Fact: AZ -- the chubby little flying droid with the big, glowing yellow eyes on Kamino is the same little Kaminoan flying droid that helped and even saved Fives back during that first arc of S6 of TCW! Great to see a former hero back at it again!! One of the Republic & Empire's best, most heroic droids, next to R2 and Threepio!!! :D

We went through all those seasons of rebels for them to forget that Kanan is Caleb and the voice of Kanan. Just great.

Hey, Holden and Jen! Caleb Dume is Kanan Jarrus' real name! You saw kid Kanan experience Order 66! Sheesh. AZI-3 was the same medbot that helped Fives evade capture on Kamino. Nala Se was the same Kaminoan that heroically stayed with the wounded clones at the med station targeted by the 'Malevolence' dreadnought in Season 1 of "Clone Wars" and then nefariously drugged Fives to conceal the truth about the chip in the Order 66 arc of "Clone Wars".

I first felt like omega was OK during the first half of this season, then she slowly grew on me. And i didn’t realize until a few episodes in to S2, to me omega is adorable and precious and must be protected at all costs❤ I think this could be a young ahsoka moment where we don’t really like her at first but we grow to love her. I know I sure am!

I was worried when they added the precocious kid, but I like the way Omega's story is developing. I have a fan theory that I will share at the end of the season.

There is a lot of great "pivotal moments" in this show. And in some episodes, you can tell they want you to remember that episode more than most, cause the art and scoring is just OFF THE CHARTS. Most of the episodes have one off stories, but even then, watching this show feels like being a detective that is slowly peeling back the layers of an even bigger mystery. Every once in a while, something gets revealed in a way that is definitely an ,"Oh shit!" moment.

In regarding of first episode in a Star Wars-show: Bad Batch episode 1 was for me even better than the first episode of Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian, Boba Fett, Kenobi … and maybe even Andor.

This series is fantastic. Season 2 will make you cry.

You know the pitch for the show had to be "Ok, we're going to lock Dee Bradley Baker in a room for 3 weeks and have him talk to himself, with a guest star every now and then"

That’s a good start for your bad batch. Yes, we’ve seen a little boy before Caleb will become Kanaris mastered as Bridger from rebels Caleb is the age and Ezra will be when rebels begins because Ezra was born on Empire Day, which is the day that bad batch begins. He still Caleb here. I don’t when he becomes Keenan Jarvis, but he will. Thanks for the fun.

I know many people pointed out that Caleb is Kanan but I just wanted to mention the fact that his master & himself also featured in the Tales of the Jedi episode where Ahsoka is getting the "order 66 training" from Anakin & the clones. It's in the early stages of the episode when a young Ahsoka is training against the droid remotes with many other Jedi watching at the Jedi temple. 👍

Its driving me absolutely crazy that both of you didnt pick up on the fact that the padawan in the beginning is Caleb Dume. You know Ezra's master in Rebels. And voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr. As same in that show. We'll have to wait until the realization hits. Lol

This is such a good show. So excited for y’all.

When I saw the Bad Batch in season 7 I thought they were cool enough, but Hunter was my least favorite. He just seemed boring. But within the first 3 episodes of Bad Batch? He might be one of my favorite Star Wars characters and I can tell you exactly where it's coming from. His facial expressions. They are much better this time around and I love watching him and Omega when they talk to each other. I could watch those two all day And Omega is freaking adorable. I know people are split on her as a character, I was ready to hate her, but I think her development is wonderful. Most kid characters are either irritating/stupid as hell or they are basically adults in small bodies. Most writers can't write children very effectively and it's even harder to get a genuine portrayal. Omega acts like a real kid with real emotions, but she's not a dumbass. She's intelligent, just not streetsmart because of how isolated she's been. She doesn't really understand the dangers of the real world, but she learns quickly. She doesn't complain, or whine about not being able to be a kid, but she also expresses her opinion. I absolutely love this concept of where do you go when your entire world has gone topsy turvy? These are effectively veterans who've been cast aside by their government and now have to figure out what to do with the rest of their lives, only on top of that they are being hunted down by the people they trusted

Finally! My third favorite squad of clones! The Bad Batch is just behind my favorites of the 501st & Nova Corps 🔥

Even from the first trailer of TBB, they state that it's made by the "same studio that brought us The Clone Wars"! So yes, very much like The Clone Wars, but especially in that it's a direct spin-off AND sequel series to that spectacular show! It's important for it to still stand out on it's own despite all that, for sure, but "in the style of TCW" more so refers to that it's going to be more mature, dark, gritty, multi-layered and complex unlike shows like Rebels and Resistance. That's what I desperately want to maintain all throughout animated Star Wars. It deserves to keep pushing the boundaries of both the visuals and mature storytelling, just as much as the movies. Rebels and Resistance were huge step downs for me and for most other fans of animated Star Wars--especially when those shows first came out. Everyone hella disliked them and rightfully so. Even now those shows continue to rub fans, like myself, the wrong way. It's a shame, I especially wanted Rebels to enjoy the same budget and quality of The Clone Wars and Bad Batch, especially with Disney owning it and providing an increased budget, but they really took some annoying shortcuts with it, to say the least! But I am loving the path they are taking with TCW, TOJ and TBB, and I know most others are too! This is the way!! ;D

I like how Omega being blonde despite being space Maoi makes sense from a real world perspective because just enough European blood got into native Kiwis that blonde hair pops up sporadically, and Temura Morrison's sister is blonde so Omega is one big shout out to her.

To be honest, I don't really remember how I felt about season 1, since it was during quarantine and now that all just kinda blends together. But I do remember really liking season 2, I can't wait to see your reaction to _that_ moment in S2 lmao

Honestly when they showed the Bad Batch in S7 of Clone Wars, I didn't like them. They seemed like the stereotypical military team: the badass leader, the heavy, the smart one, and the sniper. But this show definitely expands on their characters in a way that makes this show amazing

Just going to say it, starting this episode, have not watched it on Patreon... I don't think they are going to love Omega. I don't hate her, but I am also not a big fan. I only watched season one, and a couple of episodes of season two... But while I thought she was okay, I don't think they are going to love her either. Time to press play and see if I'm right.
