Something to note is "Erased" is technically not the direct translation of the Japanese title. The title translates to something like: "A Town without me".

More specifically: "A town where only I am not" (as in this person is the only one not there) Does not make much of a difference but the missing word would be "only" which might make a slight difference in context... I don't remember the show too well to remember if it would make a difference just so you are not worried that the word difference would be a spoiler...

Also... None of our commentaries mean that Erased as a name wouldn't make sense... it just got that name in english because of the weird translation if done literal... so they chose a different name in english...
