Shrek 2 is probably the best one of the franchise, so that one is for sure worth a watch. I remember 3 and 4 being fine as well as the first Puss in Boots movie. I loved Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The animation style is so cool, and there's a lot of heart and good lessons the characters go through during the film.

One of my favorites from my senior year of high school. I remember going with a bunch of friends to see this in theaters, and then my dad fell in love with it. So, we've watched it as a family so many times. A classic.

Shrek is my favorite movie of all time! I grew up watching it and seeing the sequels in theaters. But the story, comedy, the pitch perfect cast, the stellar animation, the perfect pacing, and I can't believe Jen has never seen the film! You guys have to watch the sequels! Absolute love Shrek!

I have been waiting for this, Shrek is one my favorite all-time movies, animated or otherwise. And you HAVE to do at least Shrek 2, and the Puss in Boots movies (specially Last Wish, but I found both good). Shrek 3 and 4 can be left out, unless there's demand for them... They're somewhat weak (specially 3).

Shrek voice actor Mike Myers used a similar Scottish accent for one of his characters in the Austin Powers films. Before voicing Donkey, Eddie Murphy voiced the dragon in Mulan

Hey Holden, did you know Chris Farley was originally casted as Shrek before he died? And Mike Myers’ accent is inspired by one of his movies like Fat Bastard from Austin Powers. There’s actual recording of Chris Farley as Shrek with storyboards you can find online.

Mike Meyers originally recorded the movie in his normal accent and then after it had all been finished he asked to re-record it all in the Scottish accent. So glad he did, the accent is iconic!

I would definitely react to Shrek 2!! A lot of people gave Shrek 3 a bad name to the point where I joined the hate, but upon rewatching it recently it made me laugh so much. I think it's still worth a watch. Shrek 4 also wasn't received well, but it might still be a good movie to give a shot!

I like the theory that since Pinocchio is in this movie that Donkey is one of the naughty boys that got turned into a donkey but didn’t lose his ability to speak like we saw others didn’t in the movie. Also in Shrek 3, Donkey makes a comment about how he used to get wedgies in school which also hints to the theory that he once was human

The first to shrieks are just way to good. If y’all don’t want to watch the whole franchise at least watch 2 and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. You will have a great time with that movie and watching the first Puss and Boots is not that necessary to see before

Holden, I too agree that the Prince of Egypt is one of Dreamwork’s best! I listen to the soundtrack at least once a month! Side note, one request for something to watch would be Treasure Planet. It’s Disney but made around the same time as Prince of Egypt. Great music, unique animation style that was ahead of its time, fantastic characters, and a very inspiring story. Check it out!!!

Jen should watch the Shrek in the Swamp Karaoke Dance Party from 2002 as well as the other 3 sequels from 2004, 2007, and 2010, followed by The Ghost of Lord Farquaad (2003), Shrek's Thriller Night (2011), Scared Shrekless (2010), and Shrek the Halls (2007). 🤞🤞

This movie is animated classic. It was the first movie to win best animated film at the Oscars since it was the first time they used that category, it beat Monsters Inc and Jimmy Neutron. I hope you guys watched the sequels. Shriek 2 is the best one out of the franchise, think of it as the Spider-Man 2 of Shrek
