My wife watches Stranger Things for the FIRST time || Season 4 Episode 1 

I can't blame Holden for doing it 1 episode at a time, considering every episode this season is basically a feature length film. Especially the finale.

Eddie and Chrissy fan stuff that came from this episode alone was outstanding... Like stories and a ton of fan art. For something that goes no where, it just stands to realize that the actors and characters REALLY broke out.

Needless to say, this season is waaaaaay more graphic and the cinematography is way better imo, can’t wait for the next ones! Also Eddie supremacy!

They really kept the spirit of 80's movies alive by having a nearly 30 year old actor play a high school student (Eddie Munson).

I never viewed Eddie and Chrissy as a couple, more like two people from different worlds who came to appreciate each other as pretty cool people. Also, we see the fact that though Eddie is viewed as an outcast and a menace, he is the only person that genuinely made Chrissy smile.

I am embarrassed at the childish scream I yell out every time I see a new Holden upload but I will embrace it from now on

Max & Lucas individually as characters, but also as a relationship, are my favorite part of this season from start to finish tbh

This season is way darker. I think because they felt like the audience had grown up along with the characters

this season is so beautiful..just every shot, so well thought out, so much detail..and yes, the detail of each character dealing with their own issues, each isolating themselves in their own way, we see them succeed when they reach out to each other, like Joyce reaching out to Murray..

This season is a return to the horror aspect. Much like S1. Can't wait to see you guys react to it. Side note, the moment of El screaming at Angela without her powers gave me so much secondhand embarrassment. Also, Mike was talking all last season about how they were starting to outgrow D&D when Will wanted to play. Then he joins a club as soon as Will leaves. Hate to see it.

It's been said already, but you two are in for one heck of a ride this season. Truly, it's fantastic.

The duffer brothers actually said that the show pretty much grows up with the kids. So it makes me happy how much darker the show is getting

Rolled my eyes everytime I heard someone told me how dark this season was until I finally watched. Sweet Baby Jesus were they right though. First season of ST that finally felt equal to the 1st season. Absolutely loved it

This is perfect timing! I just finished season 4 last night! This season is great! Definitely darker and more graphic than previous seasons. Lets also not look past Jen's character development here. I remember during other reactions, livestreams and at the beginning of Stranger Things 1 that she didn't think she was gonna like Stranger Things and here we are where she's super super excited to see what happens next!

Even though I've finished the season I still go back and watch that forest scene between Chrissy and Eddie all the time. It says so much about both of their characters with so little and the actors also got to improvise a lot of it. Even the Duffer Brothers regretted killing her off after they saw how good the chemistry was between the two actors when they filmed the scene. Fingers crossed they get to act again together in a new project someday!

I'm so happy to see you finally onto the final season, this season was probably the best, and I had the luxury of meeting and getting photos with both Eddie and Hopper 2 weeks after the show dropped (David Harbour and Joseph Quinn), it was insane. I really hope you both enjoy this season!

This season is so fantastic, easily my second-favorite (behind the first season). Like you've already seen, the new monster is absolutely horrific and that's just a precursor to how dark this season gets tonally. I know a lot of people are looking forward to your Chapter 4 reaction (as am I, that episode is incredible), but I'm more looking forward to you watching Chapter 7 because it's gonna completely turn your understanding of the entire show upside down (no pun intended, I swear)!

In Australia the 3rd and 4th seasons of the show were rated MA15+ which is usually the equivalent of an R rating in America as far as I know. I saw that the US rating was TV-14, but as an Australian I don't really know how that compares to the normal movie ratings.

This is geared toward middle school kids? Nope it has never been. They consume it and watch it cause the characters are of an age, but it has never been geared towards them. That’s a parents failure 🤷🏼‍♂️

So I think I definitely disagree with two points you made at the end of the video 1. I definitely disagree with Lucas not being there for max. Keep in mind this is March and billy died back in July. we haven't seen what has happened in that time frame and knowing lucas I really doubt Lucas wasn’t there for her all this time. we even see her pushing him away when he tried to talk to her. 2. I also do not blame mike and Dustin for not going to Lucas’s game. we saw they tried talking to eddie but Eddie said no and at the end of the day hellfire is important to them. They also assumed Lucas probably wasn’t going to be playing because he hasn’t been all season.

Ahh I’m so excited for you both!! Love how much that Chrissy/Eddie scene endeared you guys, I was pretty neutral to him up to that point and it made me like him. Joe Quinn said when he was doing ADR for that scene in the trailer the duffers were like “do you wanna see her death scene?” And he said sure and then after he watched it he was like “you can’t do that there’s no way they’re gonna let you do that!” lmao Love your love and understanding of Lucas, a lot of people were unfairly critical of him and thought it was more realistic that he get the game moved?? Weirdos. His friends let him down that night. Not max, obviously, she’s going through it and she still at least listened. Those two had my favorite arcs this season so I’m excited for you to watch it!

The journey that we all have been on watching Jen's reaction from Stranger Things 1 to Stranger Things 3 has been amazing!!! NOW you're both in for a ride this season is a masterpiece from episode 1 I have no doubt Jen and Holden will love this first episode and the season by far my favorite season!!!!

The first three seasons definitely had the goonies vibe since they were all kids. But now that they're all 18-20 they went straight into Nightmare on elm Street and IT territory. By far the best season and most violent of them.

Oh Holden, please tell me you're planning on watching The Sandman when it drops. Probably my favorite Neil Gaiman story ever

In Will's defense I don't think it's really in his personality to stand up to bullies... we've never seen him do that in the past &Last time he stood up to something he was possessed lol. But I think the best he knows how to do is comfort El as a brother, like his brother does for him.

This season is the best one. So fucking good. Also Stranger Things has always primarily been a show for an older audience starring children which has caused kids to gravitate towards watching it (which is fine in my book if they can handle the subject matter maturely, everyone is different). It was never a show geared towards middle schoolers though.

Been watching you guys for a while. This watch a long made me subscribe. That and knowing you have a 13 year old. My kids range from 32 to 8. Good luck. 👍🏽

True story, Eddie Munson's actor (Joseph Quinn) was actually an extra in Game of Thrones

They can't reschedule the D&D game because they aren't in charge of it. They could have gone to the basketball game, and the D&D could have continued, but the DM could have said, "no, you missed it, you can't come back." Considering that he already said no to rescheduling. The kids were in a tough position.

Just like, knowing their archetypes it's very funny to see Jen arguing for the significance of their DND game and Holden thinking the basketball game was more important. They're both equally significant, and neither could be asked to reschedule cause it wasn't their game, it was Eddie's, who I believe was held back twice making him twenty and them fourteen, they did actually ask him to as well and it didn't work. It was Lucas' choice to not show up to something that is just as significant for them.

I’m the same age as the stranger things actors. I was 12 when the first season came out and now I’m 18. I feel like I’ve grown with the show and the characters

I don’t think it’s “geared towards middle schoolers”, it’s a progressive story being told, and really, adolescence can be traumatic and violent, the supernatural aspects just act like metaphors or extensions of their natural life obstacles.

Pretty sure this show was never made for middle schoolers. Even if the earlier seasons were made for a slightly younger crowd the people who started watching it at that age are all older at this point and it’s now at their maturity level.

This was hands down the best season of the series, easily. I hope that season 5 is just as good but what are the chances of 2 good seasons back to back. I’m really hoping the next season is just straight up horror or a lot like this season with the darker tone.

Absolutely thrilled you guys are tackling season 4....Ive been feeling less emotionally invested in a lot of the "big shows" recently (Star Wars, Marvel) and this was the first season of a sbow in a while that emotionally hit me where I shed tears twice during the season (which I RARELY ever do)...Cant wait for you guys to watch through it!!!

The season is dark! But it’s dark that way because the things they are dealing with PERSONALLY are just as horrific. Depression. Loneliness. Trauma. That’s why the horror is next level this season! It represents their demons. This season is an absolute masterpiece of storytelling and character development!
