My wild mare and her daughter got away and headed for the hills. After trying to lure them home with grain I decided to get the horse all my horses love and take him to lure them home.
I didn’t know if it would work and to avoid scaring my mustang I got out of the saddle.
It was a great day and it’s nice to have them all back together at my home in the sagebrush hills.

What a beautiful place for the Horses to run to. Can you really blame them? I can't. Thanks for taking us along on the ride. I love horses and they are so kind and watchful over each other. What's not to love when it comes to Horses?

I quite agree! I love getting to go outside and look at them at any time.

Yeah it’s neat to see them. I stopped once and went out to see if I could watch them and a band of stallions started coming for me! Fortunately I was able to climb a power line tower and they got mad and left. 😂

Nice video, One of the favorite places I used to love to go to when we lived in Wyoming was The Bighorn National Recreation Area near Lovell, Wyoming. I loved taking pictures of the wild Bighorn Sheep and the Wild Mustangs that roamed the area. JT

@@OverOnTheWildSide I love Wyoming. But the cold weather was starting to get to me in the winter, so we decided to become full time RVers and follow the nice weather.

Yup those winters would be really hard on me. I’ve gone South a couple of times and I loved being in the sun and longer days.

I have an appendix quarter horse gelding and a Kiger mustang mare. The mare is impossible to catch in the open even tho she was born in captivity, just still a little wild at heart. She is totally broke as soon as you catch her but you can’t let her get away. My gelding is exactly the opposite. I can leave him with a herd of horse in a huge pasture for months and all I have to do is whistle for him to trot right up and stick his head in the halter. When I am camping with him I just let him drag a long rope and he sticks close to camp. He is a great friend.

Sounds like an excellent pair! It’s funny how different they can be. And especially how they can go from wild to tame once the halter is on.
@jessepitt
@jessepitt Год назад
@@OverOnTheWildSide It’s pretty interesting. She is calm enough to be ridden by children or carry a pack. She highlines, hobbles and loads in a trailer like a dream but if she gets loose I have to rope her off my gelding.

I've ever seen such a vast open landscape before, getting those mustang back must have felt like an impossible task for a bit

Since I let them roam free at my other place I wasn’t too worried. I was relieved to find they didn’t wander far though!

@@OverOnTheWildSide it is fenced in, even if it's 1000s of acres? Or could they possibly just leave?
@OverOnTheWildSide
@OverOnTheWildSide 3 года назад
@@The31st directly west of me is a good fence and south of me a few miles is some fencing and roads but to the north I don’t know if the fence is finished or not. They definitely had about 20 miles to roam.
