In this video, I share my experiences (the good and the bad) working at different jobs here in New Zealand. I’ve been working since the age of 16 and have worked in several jobs over the years. From working in a minimum wage job as a bakery assistant, to now working in a big organization as a learning designer, each job I had allowed me to gain more experience and expand my skill set which helped me progress my career (without necessarily needing a degree or qualification). At the end of the video I also share some advice and what I learned throughout my work experience that has helped me get to where I am today.
I hope that you enjoy the video about my work experience here in New Zealand. Let me know in the comments section below what topics you might be interested to learn more or hear about.

Yes I worked at 2 different call centres for about a year in total. It was a good experience as it also gave me more experience in customer service which is desired by most employers 😊

Your a Filipina right? I am 19 and I had the same case where my mother is providing and me trying to help, earn and gain experience through "starting jobs". Thou we live in Dubai, she also recommended me to my first job but it is Indian type so communication is not necessary important but speed and precision is more crucial. Learn few words, gain a lot of experience for 2 months, took a toll in my body as I am working 70hrs per week, I quit and now I am just focusing on programming . Now my father wants me in New Zealand and I agreed. I was wondering on want did you do the first time you got there and settled in and what plans you have in the future. It would be great as it could give me a hint of what I should do as the next few months I'll fly there.

Hi thanks for your comment! Yes I am, and I moved here when I was about 15. I went through high school here and got my first part time job working at the bakery. I think for you it would depend if you want to study and pursue programming (unless you've already done this). If not, I'd recommend looking at universities on where you could study and also consider the city and where you want to live. If you already did study and just looking for work, then you could probably look at Wellington or Auckland for programming jobs (but I'm sure there's something in most places). I don't have set plans for the future but I'm looking at continuing my study (communications/marketing) while working as well 😊

Hi there. There would be tailoring jobs in NZ however may not be as in demand. You can have a look at this site here that has more information about a tailor career in NZ and job prospects etc www.careers.govt.nz/jobs-database/retail-and-personal-services/retail/tailordressmaker/ Hope that helps!

Hi Christopher. I have a video covering details of becoming a new zealand citizen if you're interested to know more 🙂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8eAB4a3mIiY.html But basically you have to be a resident for 2 years before you can get permanent residency, and another 3 years to qualify for citizenship (so 5 years of residency in total)

New Zealand has mostly wealthy folks right. How do the low income, poverty folks eat, live. Housing? Food? Socialized Medicine?
@ortegajulzzz
@ortegajulzzz 2 года назад
Hi there. In my opinion the New Zealand government has a pretty good system for providing financial assistance to those who are struggling. For example there are benefits and payments for low income earners, people with children, disabled people etc.. There is also social housing in New Zealand for those who needs assistance with accommodation etc. New Zealand primary schools offer free lunches to students, and those who qualify can also apply for community services card that provides benefits such as free or discounted healthcare etc. This would be an interesting topic to cover that I can consider making a video of if you’re interested to learn more 😊

@@ortegajulzzz pls reply all message both in Facebook don't have any contact information about new Zealand visa are you in WhatsApp or give me your email address so can text you
@shakirar11
@shakirar11 2 года назад
No, NZ does not have mostly wealthy folks here, you will not be accepted a visa here, if you are going to live off the government, that's not how it operates, if you have something to offer this country, tradie cert, nurses, doctors, a long that line, builders, truck driving, teachers, etc, that is what they mostly think of. As the residents/citizens, do have assistance financially, and in other ways, housing, as what Juls described.

This jobs are available for NZ residence only right?
@ortegajulzzz
@ortegajulzzz 2 года назад
No not necessarily. If you have a valid work visa or a student visa that allows you to work then you can apply for most jobs in NZ, unless the employer specifically states you must be an NZ resident (doesn't happen very often)
