Pff- I was just rewatching the cosplayers week mituna and latula video!

I painted my first Gamzee makeup in a moving bus. And the sewing wasn't that good, so my pants gray part undo themselves. and I screwed up my signless wig order so I had to cut a cheap wig that wasn't any good and was too small.

I don't use contacts lol my mom told me that rule when I first started cosplaying😂😂😂

Okay, this might not be a cosplay fail so much as a "I dressed up as my favorite homestuck character Sollux for Halloween" fail, here's my long-ish story short: I fell while walking UP the stairs (I'm a clutz, rip) while wearing fangs as Sollux and bit my tongue after landing on the third (?) stair. There was a little lump, I didn't think anything of it really other than "ow, that hurt, that sucks". A few days pass by and I have a growing lump on the bottom of my tongue and it starts becoming painful to eat or talk that much. So I had to go to the doctor who sent me to the hospital to get the lump removed... I had to get a big needle in the bottom of my tongue to numb it and nearly broke my mom's hand by how tight I held it because it was painful. And the doctors had the nerve to ask "Have you ever had your tongue pierced?" Pfft, hell to the naw! So then I ended up having quite a few stitches on the bottom of my tongue and had to get myself some smoothies so I could still be healthy and got teased quite often for using a straw to drink out of a can of pepsi. Yes, that's just shortening the story! XD

The first time I cosplayed (and the last rip) I dressed up as Dave. I had long hair, and a really shitty Dave outfit with a red shirt under a gray record shirt XD

Me and my best friend about three 3 years ago walked to a gas station about a mile up the road in the Arizona summer as dave (me) and tavros (my bro) we were broke and both new to cosplay so we painted him gray with tempra non toxic paint (and my dave was just bad all together)...when we had finally made it to the gas station his makeup had cracked and ran off from all the sweat .... we were also asked if he was dressed like Satan

I've worn my kankri cosplay to school before and it was horrible. The only reason it was horrible for me one day was because we were assigned groups to work in and I got a group of popular kids that were kind of stupid. I did however get one of my friends which I was happy about but anyway we were working and they kept looking at me because I was wearing horns and red contacts. Then as I look back down at my paper to work on it I feel movement and someone grab the base of my Kankri horns. I am then shocked and Frozen in place for a few seconds. Then I decide to look up at the girl who grabbed my horn and I said "why did you do that?". She then proceeded to tell me that she "just wanted to touch them" so then I explain to her and her friends what that was like in Homestuck and they were shocked and they kept making jokes about it saying "grab her horn again!"or "grab those horns again!". It was so uncomfortable that when the lunch Bell rang, I ran out of the room like sonic, that's my embarrassing story.

My cosplay fail was to hot glue myself into a cosplay but came undone at a cosplay contest

My last year at Otakon, I believe it was the second day, I was cosplaying Mettaton EX. My makeup was awful and the paint on my boots was chipping more than all the Fritos you could dream of. But it didn't ruin my day, in fact someone passing by noticed me and got so excited. He must've been in his late teens or early twenties, and English didn't seem like his first language, but he was so sweet and found me so dazzling it made my day 1,000% better. ^w^It's scary to cosplay for people like me. Overweight, biracial and Bigender, I'm not saying I'm the only one of course, but I know that everyone is nervous about their outfits. Sometimes all you have to do is impress yourself, do that before impressing others and you'll find the light you were looking for.

When I first got into cosplay, I did a few closet cosplays. I cut up two of my nice blue school shirts to make a nepeta hat and tail. My mother was furious, and looking back I looked awful, but it got me into cosplay, so it was worth it.

I used to double up on my wig caps but it always hurt so i stopped and started using one and just sizing my wigs a little smaller snd it works so much better for me.

A couple years ago, our family did Steven Universe cosplay for Halloween. I make all of our costumes on a thin budget so I bought the wigs at AliExpress. I was going to be Rose Quartz. She has the big bouffy hair so I bought double and took the time to separate the wefts of one wig and sew it into the other. What I didn't realize at the time is that either Asians have tiny heads or mine is the size of a giantess! I could get the wig on but it started riding up on the sides, given about 15 minutes. Of course I didn't find this out until we were already at a trick or treat event! Also, I didn't realize how much wigs make you sweat. We now joke that it is my Menopausal Rose Quartz cosplay. I wish I could share a picture. We had a lot of fun!

Well this one time my friend and I were testing out this new body paint I got and I was applying it for them. She kept saying ‘hey go closer to my eye it’s fine you can go closer’ so I was using a massive brush and she then said I should go to her eyelids... the paint was a little bit more watery then normal and it got on her eye lashes and she blinked, when she blinked it got into her eye. I freaked out because I thought she’d go blind but in all honesty it kind of looked a little bit cool tbh (she’s fine now) but I have many cosplay fails this is just one of the first ones I jump to.

My first cosplay was gumi. I used a super cheap Halloween wig and a cheap matryoshka hoodie, and it looked pretty bad. The makeup was fine, it was just my outfit and accessories that need work. Now I'm working on some other cosplays and hoping they go better. It all takes practice though! I'll get better with time! 😊

I was going to my second con and I wanted to cosplay Lucy Heartfilia... Also that was my frist time sewing with a machine.... Somehow it ripped on my upper chest mistake 1 I sewed the rip terribly mistake 2 Then it came to the blue stripe down her shirt I hot glued that..... in pieces Mistake 3 The skirt was okay except for the fact the only way it was held closed was by a single button and there was a huge hole.... Mistakes mistakes But I had fun so it wasn't that bad I guess... ^^

The first cosplay I ever did I bought a super cheap wig off of amazon and then, unable to figure out which side was the front, I chopped off the front of the wig thinking it was the back and that it was too long and just ugh. I grimace every time I see it. Complete and utter wig fail.

My first cosplay had to be Jeff the killer... I had to use liquid latex... Yaaaaaaaaaa that was fun to take off.

Me and my cousin went to Wal-Mart in South Georgia wearing troll horns. Needless to say we got a few weird looks.

I was practicing with my veil poi bending props (atla/Lok) and it was the middle of winter in northern Wisconsin, so I couldn't go outside. The most open space in my house was this room in the basement that only had like one light. I suppose you can guess what happened there. Yeah, I broke the fuck out of that light. There was glass all over the room. Luckily I didn't get cut and no one heard me so like, I managed to pretend nothing happened for like a good three months till my parents realized there wasn't a light there anymore

This was when I was in homestuck and I chose that acrylic paint would be the best thing to paint myself Gray for Karkat and once I realized oh hey I can't talk and that it is cracking I shouldn't use it for face paint

I have ONE fail...... Well, I'm a nerd who can't see very well so I need glasses and surprise surprise....I needed to take my glasses off for a karkat cosplay on Halloween....in the dark, I bumped into so many things/people but other than that I had a lot of fun ^-^

One cosplay fail I've had was buying a wig online for my nepeta and not looking at the reviews. When it got there it was extremely short and I thought "okay well I can just cut it too make it look longer." I cut the wig and it was all janky and messed up, there was white from hair spray and it looked terrible. It was the day before con too so I ditched the wig and just wore all my other horrible last minute cosplay items. Oh and for the tail I used blue leg warmers and sewed them together and it honestly didn't look too bad. I didn't have a blue beanie at the time so I took blue hair spray and sprayed a grey hat blue. It was so bad. Thankfully I'm better now and have improved and she is now one cosplay I will be taking to con ! (TnT 2018)

When I first cosplayed grell sutcliff I was wearing cheap Harley Quinn shoes from wish and the heel broke so I hot glued them but I did not let them dry so while walking the heel snapped and I face planted into the ground but I laughed about it afterwards lol and also same cosplay I had spray painted my glasses for the cosplay red like the character but I didn’t put a clear coat over them so they stained my nose red and my ears red

The only cosplay fails i have had so far are as follows: Not wearing a wig cap for any of my wigs because in not sure how to wear them as i have very long hair and i have yet to figure out how bobbypins work Wearing a somewhat unfinished juuzou suzuya cosplay to con, with the marks on cuffs not being finished, one if the buttons came off (i have a spare dont worry), the cuff stitches coming undone and using liquid bandage for my juuzou stitches.. so my juuzou cosplay in general. Not planning for every possibility in a group cosplay...yeah me and my friend were in attempted homestuck gamzee and karkat cosplay at the time. Okay so the day before con we had thought that two other friends were joining us as sollux and tavros, but they canceled the day before and my friend who was cosplaying karkat (i was gamzee) was a bit to awkward to change from a skirt to jeans in a con bathroom and we were in human!stuck versions of both karkat and gamzee so we had to come up with a story as to why which was “john and dave were fooling around with the ectomachine while gamzee and karkat were in the room and dave button-mashed the keyboard and turned himself and john into trolls and karkat and gamzee into humans and when john was trying to fix it with more button mashing he turned karkat into a girl”. So yeah those shenanigans happened

I was try to do face paint for the mad hatter, one year for Halloween. I don't know alot about makeup, an never sealed it or put cover-up on. My face felt so oily, plus in the photo, it didn't look good.

KW LAST YEAR I WAS DAMMEK FOR HALLOWEEN AND I DIDN'T HAVE A WIG SO I PULLED MY CLEARLY BROWN HAIR BACK IN A PONYTAIL AND THE PATCHIEST FACE PAINT YOU'D EVER SEE THE HORNS WERE TINFOIL WRAPPED IN PAPER I'D SCRIBBLED ON IN A CRAYON THE HOODIE WAS OKAY BUT STILL PRETTY BAD I GOT APPROXIMATELY BARELY ANY CANDY AND I SWEAR TO GOD I REGRETTED IT SO MUCH ANYWAY YOU A COOL DUDE AND I'M DONE SCREAMING BYE

In wen to my first con as pidge and i painted a long sleeve white shirt to look like their jumper but the pencil i used for the outline was too dark and i didnt have time to sew on the collar, so I desperately hoped nobody would be cosplaying pidge or take a picture of me, but there were at least 5 pidges that i crossed and the second I got in to the con somebody requested a photo.

I went to a hibachi girl (which is where they cook the food in front of you) so at that time I had no glasses on and I couldn't see properly and I had a huge flammable flower crown. My friends said I would be fine near the grill when it went up in flames. So flames and a flammable flower crown.....not so fun. Luckily I didn't light on fire I just had smoke coming from the crown... Hitachi grills and cosplay don't mix at all.

well this fail still can be fix i think... hope? anyways i made one horn bigger than the other for galekh and it looks like a mess. still no paint on it so it can be saved right? if that one doesn't count then running away from feeling awkward at cons would be. getting asked to be married at age 12 was a scary thing for me and it happened three times. i think by two americas and one north italy.

I dont have too many fails but the ones I do have are pretty bad. Besides losing my cosplays all the time.... This one is kind of like yours, but instead of not using contact solution I thought it was the same as saline solution. So I used saline solution we had in the house......bad idea. So I put them in my eyes and immedeatly my eyes turned deep red, they almost looked purple and they where swollen I was panicking and hyperventilating, I essentually just cried the contacts out (i used my fingers too but the tears helped xD) Then another. The entire con was a mistake. First off I desided, im going to host 6 panels that con..... when I wasn't running a panel I was crying. XD Then before I got to the con I was working on last minute cosplay like hours before leaving. We where already late, I missed my first panel I was going to run. But I managed to touch the tip of the hot glue gun with my finger. Effectively getting hot glue on it and burning it fairly badly. Things you're not supposed to do when you get hot glue on your hand; close your hand Things I did when I got hot glue on my hand; close my hand. Basically it blistered up and a pice of skin just died. So I put a rubber band on it tightly then tool finger nail clippers and cut the dead skin off. Then stuck a bandaid on the blister on my finger and I had to leave the other one because it wasn't as bad (it healed the next day the one on my finger took a week) and went to the con. Havent been back to that con sense.

O boi get ready 4 cringe #1. My 2nd time ever cosplaying in 2011, I bought a Hatsune Miku cosplay to wear to a Halloween parade. The skirt fit fine, but the top was suffocatingly small. And. I. mean SUFFOCATINGLY. My mistake was that I waited too long to return it so the night of, I had to settle for the miku top of death. I was determined to complete the look. That was the last time I was going to breath for the day. It was a half hour battle trying to squeeze into it and I felt my ribs about to break. My chest was completely flattened and my arms looked like they are spilling out. So there I was walking the 3+ mile parade like a tin man because the second I move, that top is going to burst. My blood runs cold when I look back at those pics to this day. #2. This ones more of an embarrassing moment. Anime Expo 2016, I was Lucina from Fire Emblem and was caring a shit ton of swords, props and stuff, including my expensive camera. My boyfriend and I had just left a panel upstairs when I realized I forgot my phone there. My boyfriend immediately took off running to retrieve the phone and I ran after trying to keep up. Well the moment I tried to run up some stairs with the thigh-high, leather boots, I tripped and all my stuff went flying, I hit the floor and rolled down like 2 times in front of 100+ ppl. I laid there spread out for like 10 full seconds thinking about the end of my life until my boyfriend helped me up and told me to stop being a drama queen. #3. 2013, I was an OC character (by this artist I follow) for a small con and thought it was okay to buy a brown wig from party city. It was not. I went to the restroom at the con to get dressed and the moment I took it out, plasticky, shiny, nappy wig knotted and turned into a hot mess. I came out of the restroom looking like a crackhead hobo and I was so disgusted I yanked it off and tossed it in the trash. I was mad the whole con. #4. Last year at Anime Expo I was full of malfunctions for my 2B cosplay. My friends had to safety pin my dress every 10 mins and I must have hit like 50 ppl with my 6ft prop. But the worst part was on the 4th day I was scheduled to do an photoshoot for 2B when I found out I started my monthly crisis. So that cosplay and photoshoot was a no-go. I needed up just wearing a pikachu onesie and crying lol Yeah haven't really been dramatic or dangerous, mostly just wardrobe malfunctions. But that's because I don't have much experience. I'm sure the worst is yet to come.

I was doing a Halloween costume (I called Cosplay) I did a undertale Au called GlitchTale.My Oc Luna had black hair and blue eyes well tips of her hair was rainbow and she has a ballet skirt and Shoes on... (This is were it gets the fail) (yes I am a 12 year old and idc abut any cussing and weirdness Don't Judge plz) my grandma mad e the skirt it looked fine but I wanted temporary hair dye and we couldn't find any so I use spray on it looked horrible. Then I can't buy ballet shoes so I made some using pink flat shoes and ribbon and the ribbon kept coming loose and I couldn't fix it on the street . (Yes my eye color is blue but the original Oc eye color was a light purple) Now I'm never trying to do that again till I'm older! But I didn't know that much about cosplay when I did the costume....

My friends a hairdresser so i get wigs from them XD

Oddly enough, I was leaving a con dressed as Naruto, as soon as I got in the car I ripped the crotch, used the same Naruto for a shoot, got almost done then I ripped my pants in the crotch again, I've learned you can't trust cheap cosplays from amazon.
