After watching this blockbuster of a video in full, non stop, front to back and end to end in one sitting I can comfortably surmise that sometimes you are the punted and sometimes you are the puntee and that is karma.
After all that time spent digging headlights out, swapping them around and finding a matching pair, you go and do this. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS! Oh. Good video. Rubbing's racing and all that... Right...?
Good results from a difficult weekend mate. I think you're thinking about the corner weight a little incorrectly. When you corner weight the ride height should not change. To shift the weight around, for example raise the coilover springs on the front left 1 turn, and lower the coilover spring 1 turn on the right rear - always work with this diagonal rule. If you do this you can move the weight around horizontally without changing the ride height. If you want to move weight front to back you must physically move stuff around in the car.
Love the Trigger's broom analogy, I'm sure that sums up most race cars! Think you should count yourself lucky you came away from that with minimal damage and 2 trophies and without a penalty for the Vale chicane incident - if that had have been me hitting somebody I'd have been in the clerk's office for sure! Good video as always, but definitely looked like a stressful weekend - once you get to the pointy end and it's mega competitive they can be like that... Good luck for this weekend, bloody love Cadwell!
Been a good 2 year journey to follow you on. The highs and the lows watching you improve and get better and better , faster and faster. The only way is up, nicely done and keep on driving faster
Funny you were saying about the grip levels being a bit off. I was at Silverstone 3 days after you riding bikes and it didn't feel quite right, in actual fact my sister even had an off.... strange indeed. Great video as always 👍
The corner weighting thing is fascinating and I'm glad you sorted it, people pay a lot of money to have their cars corner weighted, even if the cars never see a track.
Another fantastic, edge of the seat vid, the track looked really greasy for everyone. Despite all that Another 3rd place, twice. I've also noticed that you have cheekily slid into 3rd place overall in the championship. Considering you only started 2 yrs ago, do all your own setup, repairs & mods in a cowshed (as was) is nothing less than amazing. When I saw you reviewing the data at Snetterton to find out where you were losing time, I realised that you are moving into a different league now. Don't think many of the other drivers would be doing that. I'm guessing from your posts that you will be reshelling the MR2 after this year. She's done you proud, took so many shunts, when you have been either shunted or the shuntee. Do me a favour, only move on up to another championship after you have won this one. I'm an MR2 roadster owner myself, seeing what you are getting out of a 20yrs old car always makes me smile. I know its like triggers broom but since you had the gear shifter cable replaced its like a different car. I'd recommend you change the UJ on the steering too, cheap replacement but yours must be well worn by now. Also, get the manifold ceramic coated, inside and out, be about £300. Had mine done so no need for heat wraps and keeps the engine bay temps down, worthwhile mod imo. Anyhoo, carry on carrying on. These vids are amazing, best I've seen on YT. I'm also a F1 fanboi but enjoy your vids more. Your footage & production, editing is getting better with each vid. Love the tagging now in the stream so you can goto the bit you want to see, top quality stuff. I'll stop blowing vape up ur ass now but carry on carrying on mullet boy ;) great stuff x
Hey... shit happens, Dan. I'm sure Adam was fuming and you would have been, too. You didn't mean to, you learned from your mistakes, and you apologized, presumably. A bit of a dirty 3rd place, but that's racing. Even the Senna's, Schumacher's, and Prost's of the world have punted other lads off so don't dwell on it too much. Also, despite being some of your roughest racing this year, you still pulled double podiums and last-year-Dan would have been chuffed to bits to finish anywhere near that. You've gotten a lot faster and your race craft has come very far. Also also, Congrats on the 2 years! I love this Merde-2 but I am also looking forward to the new Merde-3 you mentioned. You've learned a lot that you can apply to a fresh chassis.
You've been punted enough times over the years, it's about time you started dishing out some rough justice tbf. Even The Rock had a Heel arc. I for one welcome the DannyDC2 villain era. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world pretty fine or something, I'm not sure how the saying goes
Great bit of racing Dan 👍 Completely agree the chequered flag is in a real dopey place!! I guess you were going to end up tapping someone at some point! Great video 😁👍
Hey Danny.👋 I'm at the back of the pack, but finally made it round for some words. It truly is hard to believe two years have passed with you "doing the racings", but here we are. Lots of tough times along the way, which is usually the way it goes with any new venture, so I'm glad you decided to stick with it and reap some of the fruits of your labour.👍 On to the races. I know it bugs you to make mistakes, but it really does happen to the best of us. Wish we had an 'undo' button sometimes. You have a good conscience and want to succeed fair and square which is admirable, so try not to beat yourself up too much. Think about it and tell me your opinion Dan, but I've discovered that most of our wins and loses in life have an asterisk beside them, so to speak. There is always more to the story. Put those trophies on the shelf with pride, bro. This video (and race weekend) was definitely action-packed and made for a great watch. Kick-ass editing yet again, sir. It's always a good mix of excitement, humour, and fun with some bits of nostalgia sprinkled in at no extra charge.👌All the best coming up at Cadwell, my friend. Have a great weekend!
You make a good point sir, its probably human nature to always think we could have done better. I'm sure even the race winners feel like that, right? Maybe one day I'll be able to tell you cheers dude
Also just noticed - the second time past the flag, the e-flag further down the straight is flashing when it wasn't on the first time passed. That one can't be missed! I have a similar issue with a couple of the marshal posts at Snet, particularly T1 outside and into the last corner. Your eyes just aren't looking there.
@@dannyDC2 Haha true! Can't wait for new season content (hence re-watching old ones), hoping to race myself next year in my R53 mini. Looking at your MR2 go through all that makes me cringe though, thinking about what'll happen to my own car!
There's another chequered flag at the end of the straight at 7:40(shown again after the one on the right at around 8:11 and 8:56 just as you're about to enter corner) Flashing chequered board on left at 15:30
The scruteneers like feeling your crack? Great video as always! Is there a list of stuff you have done to the car to make it race-worthy? I've seen all the videos, but would like to see the list.(as a to do on my own project)
It’s a production series so limited by the regulations. You can see them on 750mc website under MR2 Championship. Then just usual safety stuff that all cars need
The only thing im wondering is... Why upshift early from 2nd to 3rd at the 2nd last corner exit? I reckon u can keep holding 2nd for more speed and high top speed at main straight
Chequered flag location is nothing short of stupidity, but congrats on the trophy, you held your nerve through some fairly hectic action. Its a shame to hear you are going to retire this amazing little car, its taken some amount of stick :)
I for one think that it is ridiculous to be working for less than the average market cost per hour and trying to justify it by saying you don't want to rip the customers off THATS BAD BUSINESS
@@dannyDC2 As soon as you turn into any corner. It would explain why you always have nothing but oversteer regardless of the other settings which just timid it more or less
@@dannyDC2 yeah absolutely it’s completely out of sight. The early finish line helped me this year get a class win over a faster car but other than that I don’t see the point.
Roofless? I thought you were a bit roofless there yourself! I'm not surprised you missed the chequer as your screen has so many cracks and chips, it's like the surface of the moon! Don't drive fast, drive FASTER!!
Yo Danny I've a question about your racing gloves: do you like em? I'm in the process of buying some.. what to look for? Love all youre doing and youre a hell of a driver.
Your car setup always seems to be far looser then anyone else's setup. You need some more rear camber to stabilise the back. Don't do toe otherwise you'll compromise your top speed.
