Congrats on the seasonal vendor spot! As an "older" person. (Age is only a number for this 50+ purple haired, Disney and horror movie grandma). It's very exciting to see someone so young succeed in a craft that you love! Good vibes for future successes😊

Every person has their reason for their prices. I agree you deserve support not rude comments. Take care and stay creative.

I hate that the market wasn't better but yes, people need to know that it happens to all of us sometimes. ❤ Congrats on being accepted as a seasonal vendor!

I feel your frustration. Years ago I made yarmulkes/skullcaps/kippahs (beanies that Jewish men wear). I made them for my son's Bar Mitzvah. Everyone raved about them. Everyone raved about them. I was encouraged to make some for the synagogue Hanukah fair. I asked $8.00 apiece. Only sold one! One woman told me that they were too expensive and then had the nerve to ask me to give her a copy of my pattern! I should have told her where I bought the pattern for $12.00.

The possum is adorable. Much cuter than the ones that recently took up residence under my deck!

As a brand new you tuber maker and seller of my crochet items I love to hear the pricing. It really helps us well me, comparing pricing. I did 1 market that I didn’t sell anything. I’ve done 4 markets so far!

I just had my worst Markey also. Only sold 6 items. Hopefully next one will go better. Also I think your prices are perfect.

Btw your prices are very reasonable. Those yarns are spendy. Great work by the way.

One time, I prepped for months for a Christmas market and did not sell one item! I was sad and embarrassed. Years later, I am trying another one next month.

What’s your routine for once your projects are done? Have you ever finished one, and just stuck it on the table? Or had someone wait for you to finish it to buy it? Once I’m done, I always take a picture and then wash it before I sell it.

So sorry you didn't sell more! That happened to me for my first show! I haven't done another show yet! Not sure if I want to! 😢

Don’t let it discourage you and try again! My first market I only sold a $2 scrunchie and now I usually make $200-600

I second you Ruthie!! My first market I only sold 10 dollars and I didn’t let that discourage me. I did make adjustments on selecting the correct shows based on my target customers and also adjusted the items I offered.

So sorry you only sold one item but I bet that person was happy with the turtle, can I ask what happened with the Robin kit?

I have a question about how you plan market inventory. Do you use the size of the market to dictate how much you take? So for your two day event do you plan to have extra items on hand in case stuff sells well? Similar with the event in November geared towards kids. Do you plan to have more lower priced items available since parents might give kids a small budget they can use for souvenirs? My apologies in advance if this violates your rules on questions. Feel free to delete if it does! Have a great weekend!

Does anyone ever buy the ones over 60? No hate, genuinely curious. I adore those little $10 ones so much, especially the whales, they're adorable

I sale at markets and I’ve never sold anything over $30 I’ll have people buy multiple things that adds up to $30/$40+ but not often

Yes! They don't sell as often as the $10 items, but I have sold at least one big item at each of my markets. They're good to have!

do you change your pricing based on where you're selling? Like what if you're selling in an area where there are more low income people, would they pay for anything higher than $10? I guess I'm worried because I think my first market is in a pretty low income neighborhood and I'm worried that people won't pay for my $12 items (they're made from acrylic yarn and look pretty small but I think the work put in does make them worth at least $12) and I'm debating on whether I should lower my price to $10

I would say keep your original price, don't undercut yourself. if they really like it they won't mind paying a couple extra dollars, otherwise you can try selling online or in a higher income area :)
