This is really pretty cool I too am a world war II naval history buff I have been trying to put some stuff together to make up just maybe uniform just for my collection I scratch build 196 scale world war II worship models. And I've been trying to get a a helmet which they're rather on the expensive side I just got a plastic one for an adult and spray painted it gray trying to figure out how to make the chin strap for it I got the uniform shirt and the white cap also trying to find a chief petty officers cap. But this is really cool you're really lucky to have all that
The guys in WW2 would have internal pockets put on the wool shirt plus many things were carried in the socks. A couple cleanings of the wool will soften them up.
The U.S. navy during world war 2 used the usmc gaiters or leggings I have an original 1943 dated pair of usmc leggings and they are the same size same company same date fun fact if there were army troops in the pacific that didn’t have there us army gaiters they got handed a pair of usmc/ U.S. navy gaiters because they were more common in the Pacific.
There was a cigarette company Player that made a navy cut pack that was designed to fit in the breast pocket of the dress uniform, also the trousers had 13 buttons. My uncle was a WWII vet and and I have a picture of him in his dress blues wearing a Dixy Cup cover.
Helo I was in the US NAVY. THE BELT BUCKLE FOR ENLISTED E-1 TO E6 IS SERVERS and For CHIFF AND OFFICE IS GOLD. This too don't use this uniform they use a Kali in color and don't use a Dixie hat. I do thank you very much for the video show. Have a great NAVY DAY. ALEXANDRO VALENTÍN PO3 USN FMF RET CORPSMAN .
Helo the reason of the dress uniform pants have 13, button on the front flap is: They represent the original 13 Colonels of the USA. The Navy Dress Blue don't have zepper that's a Arterton meek by the personal. Great program.
Love the uniforms but just wondering when you were going over the 1st work uniforms and “ combat uniform “ it sounded like there was gunshots in the background like a small fire fight or something i don’t know just interesting
Even all these years later, the navy still has the 13 button trousers with the dress blues. For some ungodly reason they decided to keep that archaic design choice.
@@scottdunkirk8198 Keeping the tradition of the uniform. Cool. Keeping the tradition of the stupid buttons, ridiculous. These are buttons that no one can see and aren’t even part of a uniform inspection. It’s stupid
@@Howleebra on ship for dress you would have black dress shoes they look close to the modern ones. Work you would have the dyed black navy boondockers and beach battalion would have the marine boondockers. SM wholesale has all 3 types
