Just bought a 21 R-spec for my first bike! Two weeks in and I am loving it. I would say perfect bike for begginners who want the sportster look without the harley price tag. Cant wait to start working on it!!
Hell yeah! That’s so awesome! I’m kinda shocked how well this video is doing. Man be prepared for a lot of people to hate on it cuz it’s not a Harley, but I’ll tell you the more I ride the bolt the more I love it
I bought one of these as my second bike. In Australia you're only allowed as a beginner to ride up to 500cc (650cc for some models) so a 950cc is a decent step up. It arrives in a couple of weeks I'm looking forward to it!
@@lifengauged5987 I decided to get rid of the R6 because it wasn’t practical for me any more. All I do is cruise now and the Bolt is much more suited towards my riding. Sport bikes are fun but not practical at all for the streets
Great looking bike! Got a 2014 and the only mods I’ve done is added Yamaha saddle bags. I’m a little intimidated about mechanicing on my bike but I’ve just had my ties changed changed for the first time and it was a rude financial awakening.
Thank you! I appreciate it! Bro if you want to learn get in there and do it! I have no skills as a mechanic. This bike is perfect to learn on. I just watched a lot of how to videos and read the directions to everything I wanted. If I can do it, you can do it!
Dude, I just got a 2017 bolt as my second motorcycle. Technically my first, I had an R3 before but put probably maybe around 300 miles on it and sold it. I live in the SF bay area as well, the R3 did not feel safe to me with how strong the winds are here. I've had my bolt for a bit over a month now and probably put more miles on it than I did on my R3. I think it is a much better beginner bike than the R3, specially for someone being short and an area that is super windy. I have some videos that Im recording, but they are in portugues as it is my first language. But I'll start recording videos in english too once I figure out my microphone and camera setup situation. But the videos help me review my riding and see what I need to work on.
Nice bike bro! What did you change on it? Maybe a quick walk-through or a list could be nice, otherwise I'm also looking on this bike as my 1st bike (after like 12 years getting my motorcycle driver's licence LOL).
Good to see another moto vlogger who is in stanislaus county...😁👍yeah hopefully one day we will run into one another on the road 😁I definitely like your bike she's sweet bro
Dude, I take that road to work quite often when I ride my bike Haha. nice bike by the way. It’ll be my next bike for sure. Edit: talking about passing through Hughson
I use to have a bolt 2017 I think I turned it into a bobber I loved it awesome bike then I sold it couple years ago to get a bigger bike engine wise I haven’t had a motorcycle since now I’m looking into getting a Harley street bob we will see what happens lol
@@lifengauged5987 oh yea I loved that bolt my cousin has street bob his dad road glide just couldnt keep up it ran awesome though sounded good to when I turned it into a bobber everyone wanted to look at it lol oh yeah I saw the video on the low rider s that’s anther bike on my radar u got some stuff planned for it
Nice bike man! I got the 2015. It feels good find out more riders post videos of the bolts. I had a question, where did you order your extended cables from? And also what size handle bars did you get? Thanks man!
How do you like that seat!?!? Looks great! Also, can you link the sissy bar? I’m having a hard time finding one I like. I have a 2019 Bolt. Been making upgrades myself. I love it.
dean-speed.com/yamaha-bolt-sissy-bar/ That’s the link for the sissy bar, I love the seat. Only thing I recommend is getting the tuck n roll pattern for your seat. The stitching is great to look at, but relatively low padding. The seat also makes you feel way more locked in.
Not sure how you feel about forward controls, but I just installed some on my 2014 and they are amazing. Those mids were just KILLIN me. Looks good though, I dig those bars and pipes!
Thanks bro I appreciate it! I have yet to ride a bike with forward controls... but after about 2 hrs of straight riding my back freakin kills me. Those forwards help with that?
@@lifengauged5987 ohhhh definitely. You can push against them with your feet and it takes the pressure off your lower back and puts it into your legs. It's nice to be able to redistribute the weight to stay more comfortable for longer rides. I'm about to ride mine 3200 miles round trip to Dallas and back, check out the vids coming up. If you check the forwards out I can get you in contact with the guy!
@@WhiskeyChaser dude hell yeah! Send me his way bro! I’ll hit that sub button as well. Been seeing your name here and there on RU-vid and Instagram so I think it’s time LOL
Thanks bro! Zombie performance taco bars with an 8 inch rise. Bassani radial sweepers exhaust. Cobra power flow intake. Cobra fi2000 tuner, and dyno tuned. Dean speed sissy bar, saddlemen seat. I think that’s it?
I might go get a 2021 in a few weeks this will be my second bike my first was a cbr600 to many tickets 🤣 but anyway clean af dude literally exactly how I’m going to try and make it look
Yeah, the bike was way smoother. I’m not sure if it’s cuz I tuned it right after the break in period, but the gears would carry me a lot further before having to shift. Ran like a completely different bike. Way better
How’s it going dude totally got shocked when I heard you were in Modesto! Finally someone close lmao but I’ve been really really wanting to purchase the bolt but can never find one near by in any dealerships. If you still have it do you think I could possibly see it in person.? Cheers
@@SomeConspiracy thanks bro! That is the saddlemen step up seat I have on the bike. It’s okay for having mid controls on the bike, I usually want to stop for a stretch after about 2 hrs
@@trruplayaa01 not really honestly. It will if the rpms stay high for a bit and I start to decel. But I believe it’s cuz the tuner I bought is garbage. Don’t buy the cobra fi2000 or something like that
@@Ragazzosicilian yeah no problem brutha. I ordered mine from the saddlemen website itself. Be very sure you read the different styles, I ordered the wrong style and didn’t get stitching on the passenger seat like I wanted! Don’t make my 400$ mistake lol
@@lifengauged5987 Thanks for the heads up. 👍🏻 I’m not sure on which seat I will upgrading to, I was also considering the mustang wide or Corbin. Stay safe out there 🤙🏻
Hey, love the bike and I am about to get myself one here in the near future. I have a question, for the higher bars did you have to get longer clutch/brake cables or was there enough slack to rise it?
Just discovered your channel yesterday after a search for Bolt reviews and am so glad I landed on you. Love how real you are in your commentary - super “stream of consciousness,” and not all scripted like so many sites. I hope your channel grows exponentially! Couple of quick questions: I bought a 2021 Rebel DCT a couple of months ago and will probably add a Bolt to the stable soon. All of your mods are killer, and I’m curious what height sissy bar you got from Deans, as well as which bag your rockin on the handlebars? Also curious as to your height because I’m 5’9” and wonder if your Zombies give you less of a “far reach” feel? Thanks in advance, and best of luck with your channel. I’ll keep on watching. Loved the crackhead who asked if “that mofo can do a wheelie!!” Haha
Wow. This honestly made my morning, thank you! I really appreciate the support and I’m looking forward to hearing from you in the future! To answer your questions, the height of the sissy bar is the 20inch bar. The zombies definitely feel a bit more comfortable. I’m 5’7 so i still have to reach a bit, but nothing like the stock bars. I’m glad to have you here! The rebel is one killer bike! My best friend plans on buying one, so look forward to seeing that on the channel at some point. Thanks again! 🤙🏽
I highly recommend installing a tune on a bike if you do anything that involves changing the fuel to air ratio. I did the air intake, exhaust, and tuner all at the same time
@@abie1230 no worries bro! I believe I ordered through partzilla. There are tons of options for a tuner. I suggest a power commander. I got a cobra power pro black, but it sucks. The guy at the dyno shop said a power commander works best. But he did what he could with the tuner I got. Just do research on what power commander is compatible with the bolt!
@@abie1230 correct, first what you. Need to do is figure out what intake, and what exhaust you want. Then look up a tuner that supports 1.your bike 2.exhaust 3.your intake A lot of tuners will have a *flash* for the parts and bikes you want, just got to pay the money for someone to do the work or do it yourself. But get ready to fork out some cash!
Thanks man! I need to do update video on the parts. It has a fairing on it now. Bro, white was a popular truck the past 5 years. Now they are everywhere lol
If you stay in town, it warms up pretty good. But if your cruising some back roads it has enough airflow to keep the heat off your leg. I personally have not had any issues with touching the exhaust while mounting/dismounting/riding
