Quikrete gets their sand form multiple different areas of the country and I’m pretty sure Georgia is not one of them. I could be wrong, but I’ve never heard of it. I know they get it from California, Florida, and New Mexico (I think)… where yours comes from depends on what part of the country you buy it in.

so moral of the story is if you need to buy Home Depot sand for a project anyways pan it before using it for said project you never know anyone installing a swimming pool?

I know someone who sells sand he dumps it in a hopper that has water jets that agitates it as an auger pushes it from the water basin to remove water and fine dirt believe it or not sand needs to be clean to be able to mix it in concrete and so forth in the process the great majority of the Heavies collect at the bottom of the hopper as a byproduct from selling the sand is he gets to clean out the hopper and recover the fine gold that's in it so I would imagine that most of these sand companies are doing the same thing

Try the Tube Sand. There’s always more gold in it than any other type.

Awesome flake! Not surprised overly. Knew aq guy here in the valley that had several grvel pits, and since he had to wash his rock anyway, he just put it rhough a classfier and sluice setup. Bit by bit, gain by grain, he collected 3x 10 lb bags of gold dust. First gold out west here was found by a farmer whilst plowing his field about 10 miles from where I sit. Didn't know much about gold so he scooped it up and went back to plowin. That was back in 1845, 4 years before the 'gold rush' started.

The good thing is after you run the sluice you still got 50 lbs of dirt to use on your project
