Merlin and Cosmo Sheldrake- could be brothers who put this together? There's a lot of intention and focus on the Mycorrhizal and mycelium sphere, enabling us to viscerally understand how the ecology of soil is so precious and unique! Fungi and Flora are our Elders, they birthed us into this orb of pristine diversity! We are reconnecting to Earth again, only this time we are the Mycelium and Hyphae through the internet 😆

What does prescribed fire in a forest, on short return intervals, do to this network?

We don't study this ourselves, but you could check out this paper about forests in the southwestern United States as a starting point: www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S037811271500078X From the abstract: "Our data show that while the recurring burning or the season of the prescribed burning do not affect richness and diversity of the fungal communities, the frequent (two and three year interval) fires maintain a fire-adapted community that is distinct from those in unburned reference plots.We conclude that frequent prescribed burning maintains fire selected soil fungal communities that may support plant communities that are composed of desired fire adapted or fire tolerant species that dominate the frequently burned areas."

Ok, as you can see I am a professional grower of marijuana and I have been trying to get people to understand fungi and the myccorrhizal connection for years, YEARS. I have a very special fungi I grow (by accident) its a long story but just a scoop of this introduced to sterile soil and in w weeks you have the perfect media for growing specific strains. Anyways if people knew what I had they would flock to me with cash in hand but what I would love to do is send you a sample and have you do a workup, I think it's time I mass produced this stuff. It's a miracle what it does.

How can you be sure that the first life on earth was created in fresh water? Why not in the ocean? Perhaps it was non-C, perhaps N-based, living on a thermal vent on the ocean floor? How can you be sure that algae was alive before mycelium? Perhaps it was lichen or a primal version of it that made its way out of the ocean and onto land first, and at some point plants (algae) broke loose of the mycelium structure?

So right. We don't need them. We need food, which feeds of nutrients coming from either proteins means animals, or plants or is made from plants itself. And we need oxygen, which is made by plants as well....and most of the plants need fungi...oh, wait! .. Unless you don't get every nutrient you need from eating stones you might consider another try.
