MyKayla Skinner - Floor Exercise - 2019 Women’s Worlds Team Selection Camp 

I give her mad props for putting herself out there after an amazing career at Utah and putting elite routines in such a short period of time and doing well. I’m really rooting for her.

Her landings were all super clean, she is really killing this comeback

This is honestly, for me, the best routine I’ve seen her do! The tumbling looked better, and the triple at the end was great! I wish her coaches would work on her toes and leaps because they’re still dragging her execution down.

I love how she is bringing the joys of NCAA to elite gymnastics!

her twisting form is actually really good compared to a lot of other gymnasts! she should incorporate more into her tumbling. I used to not be a fan of her attitude and gymnastics, but i feel has though she has changed with both and am now rooting for her to be on the tokyo team! Go Myk!!

Great 3 twist for the last pass. We dont see enough of that. I h8 a double tuck for a dismount so much in women's floor, it was almost NEVER seen in the 90's & early 2000's.

What many people dont notice is that mykayla actually has a really good twisting form , her main problems are with form breaks on bars and dance skills on floor and beam, thats why i wish she would focus more on elements she cant be deducted heavily on , if only she ditches the moors and works on the other passes

I’m a massive Jade, Simone, and Skinner fan, but I will never understand (even with both -0.3 splits deductions) how she scored lower than Jade here. Ridiculous.

I’m shocked! That’s the best I’ve seen her do, especially with the Moors, that was the best layout position I’ve seen from her. The leaps were so much better, I’m glad she took out some of the little moves that messed her up. The landings were fire 🔥 girl I’m impressed! Just work a little more on form and the leaps and bam, you’ll be great 👍🏻 Way to go Mykayla! Keep up the amazing fight ❤️

She’s got so much potential, I’m sorry she didn’t make the team. But why are they still not working on improving her bent hips and splits? She could have such high scores if her execution was rated better. Also love that she is also doing a twisting element! Hope she really aims to work on the points mentioned above instead of just increasing her difficulty all over again.

i really love the triple twist dismount followed by a triple spin. honestly with jade carey out of the picture by virtue of going the world cup route, we could really use mykaya's VT/FX scores in tokyo

Choreography doesn't match the music, so I don't like it very much, but this is definitely a very good exercise. What a comeback!

She's come back fast, and she's cleaned up some (!) of the form issues that plague(d) her in her Elite career. This could be a truly beautiful routine if she cleans up her toe point and splits that don't hit 180. Until then, this routine is "only" impressive. ;-)

Only thing left is Olympics... she deserves her turn but so difficult to be 1 of 4

Her shoulders don't ache when she does the extra arm swings

MyKayla used to be a gymnast that lacked a bit in some areas, like the form and dance elements, but she has improved so much! She definitely deserves more recognition now and also better scores! Her twisting form by the way, is book perfect. Most people don't appreciate that.

Why the american staff never liked to use her at the Worlds?

Honestly, I hope she was selected for the olympic team, I still think she should had been selected last olympics instead Gabby...

Her landings were so good! She needs to keep working on her leaps (not quite at 180) and work on keeping her body straight in the Moors. If she keeps this up, she’ll be on the Olympic team for sure!

Aside from Mykayla’s execution issues, I do think she should have scored higher than Jade at least today. However that doesn’t change my opinion that Jade is an overall better option to take for the purpose of better individual medal and team scoring purposes. Though I wouldn’t be mad if Mykayla made it!

He split lips are the worst. I get it why she is bash a lot and doesnt make the worlds or olympics. I mean split leaps should be horizontal legs when done. Doesnt make it horizontal. And does are basic leaps. And she does it all the time. She should work on that. I get the high flying difficult tumblings but the generic wrong leaps just kills it.
