MyQ off line fix: How to fix your myq phone app when it goes off line

If you had recently had a power outage go to the box with all the control and cut off the signal for the garage and turn it back on. Thank God I figured it out!!!

I used to have that problem and would unplug the device to reset it. Got tired of doing that so I put a smart plug between the wall and the device which I can turn on and off with the app on my phone. The problem eventually went away on it's own.

I was in a bind after my opener didn't reconnect to my WiFi post a small power outage overnight. I kept trying and to no avail, I almost was considering buying another one. I'm stubborn and also didn't want to spend $400 on a new one, so I googled and found your video. Tried it and it worked. Thank you so much. Just out of curiosity, do you have a fix for the video too? I have a question so my old myQ device was interferring and I wanted to set up a new one so it would give me an error message that you had to clear the codes well I did that but then it would give me the same message do you know what to do in that case?

If this does not work with your iPhone, use an iPad that's connected to your Wifi. I think it had something to do with the new ios17. That worked for me.

Very important Question for me. Do u have to also relink the car garage openers as well when u reset the system???

My MyQ app also went offline. And I was about to do what this video says. But I remember that I upgraded my router 6 months ago but kept my username and password. I did not do anything with the app as it was business as usual and worked normally. But I also remembered that we had some thunderstorms recently and caused power failures. So, I tried to just turn off the power strip/surge protector. Unplug both the garage door opener and the surge protector. Waited a couple of minutes. Used this time to vacuum the overhead unit. Plugged everything back in. Turned the unit on. Then, I got a notification on my iPhone that the garage door just closed. My MyQ app was back online. But, thanks for this video nonetheless.

Says there was error after I do this 😔 if I unplug it from the wall it will work for about a day then doesn’t the same thing

I want to disassociate the Myq account to my former email address to my new one. How do I do that?

The myQ app shows my network but for some reason it doesn’t need a password even tho it requires a password to access the internet, what should I do?

hope this helps someone i had tried everything and it didn't work until i went to settings and go into cellular data and scroll down to the bottom and turn off wifi assist this causes signal interruption after you're done you can turn it back on it worked for me

My issue is that on the step where the unit is searching for wifi networks my unit cant find any networks eventhough the router is 10” from it i tried power cycling the router with same results

If I reset it does that mean I have to reset the garage opener control as well??

This is good and almost complete. It does not solve all the known issues. I have a MyQ Security+ that would not connect to my new router/network. It appears that the Wifi in the MyQ is not compatible with WPA2Personal/WPA, which is the lowest that new routers support. I had to bridge my old router, create a new Wifi network and use the old setting (WPA2Personal) to get it to connect. Something has changed and the MyQ is not compatible with newer routers. You have to add an older router and connect through it. My opener was built and sold in 2020, s its not that old. Just likely a bad Wifi card or firmware installed in these. Thank god I did not have to buy a new opener just to get MyQ back on my devices to work again.

Will this affect my regular remote control?

What if you get "unknown" status? I usually get "unknown" after 2 weeks or so of inactivity in opening and closing the garage door. If I am away on vacation and I need to give access to someone this becomes a problem. I cannot correct this with the app settings. MyQ support are no help.

Yup doesn’t work for me. My black button will never flash blue to connect or I don’t get a beep after 3 yellow button clicks

I did all the steps in your video and in the end it does not connect even when the router is 16 feet away. The message from the app is that it does not detect the Wi-Fi signal from my router. All my WiFi devices are connected without problems, only myq is the only thing that does not connect. Should I delete the garage door from the app and register it again? Help 😢

I hold the square button but the yellow arrow doesn't stop flashing.

If the blue light does not flash after you pressed the yellow button 3 times - you need to power off the garage door opened by either pulling its plug or tripping the breaker. Turn it off for 10 seconds, then turn it back on, wait for 30 seconds and try the same procedure from the video again - pressing the black button, then yellow button. This time the blue light will blink.

This worked…sort of. The camera still displays “Offline” and refuses to connect. Come on Liftmaster! Fix this flaw.

I have 2 garage doors. Was able to connect 1 of them but can't do the 2nd. 1st garage door broke and panel was replaced. It showed offline and I just deleted it from the app. Now can't connect either garage door. Blue light does not flash at all.

I have the newer series, and the problem is when I go through all the steps, select my device in the app and then it pops up my available networks page - NONE are listed. It used to see all 4 networks, now it sees none. I removed the device from my q, tried to reinstall, same problem. I hard reset the door itself, went through the whole process to add a new opener, same problem. It never recognizes ANY network, not even it's own mac address. This company sucks.

When I join the myQ network, it’s searches for other networks, but nothing populate. My router is up and running. Not sure why it is not populating as an option to select.

And if it doesn’t connect to your network?

MyQ devices are configured correctly, but they keep going offline on and off. The network strength is very good. Any suggestions?

Mine can’t search network

My "MyQ" app stopped working when I upgraded my old 1GbE switch to a 2.5GbE switch that the MyQ Internet Gateway plugs in to. To resolve the issue, I had to use a standard 1GbE ethernet connection. Now, everything works again!

That last part where my WiFi network pops up never happens. I deleted it from the mq app and now I can’t add it back.

I did all that but my net worth would not come up on the list why?

Pressing the yellow button 3 times didnt do anything for me :( any ideas?

Why does it keep going offline though, especially when you are not home and you need to open the garage for someone… boom it offline. Really frustrating. All I do is unplug my router and plug it back though and it come back…. But whyyyyyyyyyyy does it keep going offf 😡😡😡😡😡

MyQ wont find any networks

MYQ hub is a pos.. sick of this this thing disconnecting and not auto reconnecting. NOTHING changes the stupid thing just disconnects. Go through the procedure, it says connect but when you open the damn app everything is still OFFLINE. What useless app and hub.. just my .02
