Myriophyllum mattogrossense is a medium category stem plant that comes supplied in 1-2-Grow! cups. It’s a fast growing species that requires moderate to strong lighting with CO2 injection for the most attractive growth. It’s characterised by its attractive bright green and delicate feather-like leaves. Stronger lighting will promote more compact growth and the stems will develop a more reddish colouration. It is also konwn to flower regularly underwater with tiny pink flowers growing from the nodes.

Hello. Actually, the spelling is Myriophyllum mattogrossense. The epithet alludes to the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, where the species was found. Thanks for the video!

@@isaacr.b8154 , I do not know. I live in Guarujá, on the coast of the state of São Paulo. It's far from Mato Grosso, where I went a few times and never for a long time. But I'm almost afraid to look for the information. Mato Grosso has already been and continues to be heavily devastated for agriculture, which even degrades the rivers. But I will try to find out.

sir my myriophyllum mettagrooses plant leaf is getiing brown and melting off . Can you tell whats the problem before 2 weeks i started adding is apt fertz and slowly its getting better.

This plant is amazing, unfortunately SAEs destroyed it in my tank. It looks much better than shown in this video.

This is actually my new favorite plant! I have the red variant of it and I’m hoping it will do well in my low tech tank! I have a hygger 24/7 light that has a fairly high par and I think it is getting plenty of light but we shall see! I will try to update at a later time!

Hi I have what I believe is this plant with a growth of stagshead algae on its leaves. I don’t currently use CO2 injection but I plan to upgrade hopefully today, do you think adding to CO2 will take care of the algae? Or should I cut that part off? It’s rapidly loosing leaves now

Hi. It's definitely easy to remove the affected part as the myriphyllum will be grow back up in no time. But of course CO2 will help the plant thrive better.
