I stand behind Mysskin. Those who say Tamil movies should target Tamil audience need to learn that art is global. We all watch and love Hollywood movies. Never complaint they no songs. But still the movie entertains us. The music industry in India is immature. Musicians should release more private albums and help keeping songs out of the movies.
This is the a correct statement, that mysskin states here. people should celebrate this film, it is very real and it should reach the universal film festival. please encourage such artists, if not our tamil cinema will be under the drainage. Directors like Balagi shakthivel, mysskin, samuthirakani, sasikumar, vijay, jaganathan, etc should be more prefer ance and encouragement. They are well known for their talents. A big salute to Mr. Balagi Shakthivel for taking such films. sir, u r a GENIUS.
What he's saying is absolutely right. He's not against commercial cinema,he's just fed that people aren't appreciating artistic films to an equal scale. He might have gone overboard with his language but what he said is absolutely true.
Actually people go behind fame, if a big star does a average movie it becomes a superhit. But even if debutant or normal technicians does a extraordinary film they are not even recognized.
MYSSKIN & BALAJI SAKHTUVEL ARE GREAT DIRECTORS & I ADMIRE THE TALENTS OF THE GREAT CREATORS FOR MAKING VAZHAKKU EN 18/9 & NANDALALA. I AGREE THAT ENTERTAINMENT IS DEFINED DIFFERENTLY BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE. BUT THE QUALITY PRODUCT SHOULD BE APPRECIATED. VAZHAKKU EN 18/9 IS A FILM WITH SUCH QUALITY & SHOULD CLASSIFIED AS 'ALL TIME TOP 10 MOVIES' IN TAMIL CINEMA. I AM A MALE & THESE MOVIES VAZHAKKU EN 18/9 & NANDALALA MADE ME CRY. BTW, I AM FROM MALAYSIA.
One of the best movies in the recent times. Director and actors score 5/5. Media should promote this kind of movies. The movie really has a good msg to say and the director has did his job very well. I could just say thanks for taking such movies. Media should help to bring commercial sucess also for this kind of movies so that the director and actors or motivated.
100% correct. Nowadays audience didnt appreciate meaningfull storylines, deepfull messages. They ony like action movies like Vijay, Ajith movies. Frm there they will give all offering to their action GOD'S like milk abhishegam all😂😂. Banner poojai all😆😆😆
"There are two types of films. Artistic films and the films that are commercial success" said a famous director. It's a universal behaviour of audience. None will accept Transformers as artistic films, but it earns more money than artistic films.
Mysskin's anger is very genuine. But he should be grateful for tamil audience. If he was a director in telugu land, by this time he would have attempted suicide. I came to chennai when i was a kid. Iam very grateful to have learnt to understand the tamil language and saw so many good films here.
no one can make a movie with so much of detail thrown at it.....i loved the movie totally and can proudly say tamil movies are the best in the country as of now..... and its sad that box office din go wel....:( .........
what he says is true, but not all audience are art loving people, they want to simply enjoy the 2 hrs with out even wanting to think during the movie or after it... for them masala movie is the need...
His words are sweeter for people who love Artistic movies and are very harsher for people who hate those movie kinds. You decide which kind is good. My point of you, he is reasonable and his words are sweeter as I watched Vazhakku En Movie twice in theater and loved it to the extreme and wished it to be a great hit.
actually i appriciate valakku en kinda movies, i mean they,r gr8 as myskin says, but i feel its not worth sitting in a theatre to watch it. but this man clearly made me understand that only by appriciating the movie in a theatre is the true appriciation... hats of myskin. tryin to change the cliche way of seeing tamil cinema...
what he spoke is really true words..... but the people who asks for gud film saw those film.... every1 need entertainment...entertainment...entertainment...entertainment...
i can feel that hes just cant cope up with the irony of his expectation on the people but opinions ranges from people to people and its ineffective to expect similar to his own from the others...and thats just inevitable
Dear Mysskin sir... we appreciate and respect your hunger for good cinema. But please remember that Tamil audience are far ahead in acknowledging native and good cinema !!
The problem is these guys get inspired more from Foreign Cinema and expect us to be like foreigners. Tamil audiences will not like a movie with a same tome all thru 2:30 hrs. We want emotion, action, adventure, comedy, sentiment, thrill, love, good music, a mix of everything..... As Tamil people how we eat in festival occasions with all tastes including sweets, spicy, sour, a variety of all.... We are not french people to eat & live monotonous. But they fail to understand this culture and create movies with our kind of entertainment. We have made several good movies a hits those with commercial value such as Paruthiveeran, Kumki, Mynaa, 7/G, Aadukalam, etc
Commercial value movies are most welcome, and dont think they are inspired by foreign cinema. Just see the tamil movies in 60's and 70's, most of them are much better than nowadays movies. And watch vazhakku en closely, its having all emotion, action, love, adventure,...etc in it with a practical sense. We have a give hand for that. Because we are living in that way only, not everyone is going to Germany and singing own composed song when fell in love.
first thing people said after watching that movie was, how come so many good reviews for a movie which has story line similar to movies which came before it. Makkal theerpe magesan theerpu. The story of that movie was not new. It is the reason why it did not go as expected, even though paid media hyped it
vazhakku enn was a good movie but we cant watch it twice or thrice unlike aaranya kaandam... only movies which gets repeated audience becomes a super hit... had he spoken abt aaranya kaandam(AK), he could've even used bad words... aaranya kaandam was million times faster and action-packed than mankatha or thuppaki... if a movie like AK gets flop then its the taste our audience that is worst and they don't deserve to watch even any tamil-dubbed english movie on vijay tv.
I understand his frustration but that is how it is everywhere. Its not just Kollywood, Hollywood is the same way. Oscar winning/nominated films rarely run very well. Its just a sad fact that people would rather watch a commercial comedy or action film than a good film with a good story.
may be Mysskin is right, but it does not mean that every audience should like some movies and accept it. If he is not able to accept people, then let him go and take rest. No one is asking him to take movies for audience.
Though the flim was not successful at box office, it has got recoginition. Myskin, doesn't wants to do any compromise and the movie has got very few theaters. Thats why people like me can't watch it though I tried to watch. It was not shown in any mulitplex in Bangalore for instance. Failure of such a good movie is bcoz of distributors, not bcoz of audience.
Best movie, best screenplay and the best stunning climax ever.....Aranya kandam always on the top.... gudos to Director Thiagaraja kumarasami.....Mysskin you r a loosu kodhi...how can some one watch 18/9 the story every one read in the news paper...nothing new in the movie.....just like watching Nadanthadhu enna in Vijay tv. you can watch it once. If u have brain go and make a good movie..... People knows which movie to go and watch....Thalaganam pudichavane
dude you dont want to stop corruption and follow every rule & law, just follow two simple rules 1) if u emptied a mineral water bottle or ate chocolate throw it in a dustbin if u dont find it, keep it to urself until u find or put it in the dustbin of ur home. 2) strive towards "excellence in all spheres of individual" and collective activity (our fundamental duty enshrined in constitution) if u really love ur country do these two things, it's more than enough
A fan knows what to watch and what not to. He needs entertainment man. I have watched this movie and it was good and great! But that does not mean everyone should like it and love it and potrufy it. This is business - make a product that can sell and market it. People need product that they can consume. Do not force someone to watch just because you made it.
Well, if Titanic is a big blockbuster and Vazhakku Enn is average grosser there is something in Titanic that Vazhakku Enn does not have. Find it out and fix it. People's verdict cannot be altered by shouting like this on the stage.
+renuka senthil it's the perception of audience the influence a film's success. Even before years ago until now, films with more dialogues that action and more songs than emotions are all become a huge success because of our Indian audience. Majority of us like those kind of genre, it ends up a success while film like this, critically good but commercially average. He showing his anger because over the years audience are celebrating heroic films than realism films.
Sir why you beg for others attention. You said i am here to serve for art called cinema. Then why you want it to be commerciallly success. Then others point is also correct to make money
