I have heard Ian talk about Myst for years, so to finally see him play Myst is just...I don't know, it feels kinda momentous if only because it took a long time to get here and it was because of Bingo98 that made this happen! And so far I am very intrigued by all the exploration, mysteries and sense of isolation. Worth the wait :)
So excited for this series!! Myst was one of my favorite games growing up, I used to hang out at my Dad's workshop and we'd try to solve the puzzles together. Had a small binder of graph paper we'd write notes in while playing it. Good times, really nice to relieve the nostalgia along with Moose and crew 💖
These Myst streams and the Riven stream he just released are just what the doctor ordered after playing the first four games for the first time back-to-back.
Oooooh! I was always intrigued by this game as a kid. And I finally got to fully play it for the first time in high school when I first started watching your videos. Looking forward to more Myst streams, and offering good vibes all around, Ian!
I'm bummed I missed this stream live but exited to watch this VOD. I remember playing both this and Riven with their 5 Disks each that you had to periodically switch out xD. what good memories.
Agreed on the books being unsettling as a kid. Even the idea that as you gain or lose pages, I can imagine your reality warping around you. Or being stuck there for eternity.
When I was a child, my aunt started a bad ending, saved her progress before looking around, then promptly discovered she was in the bad ending without a restore point. I learned early to make multiple saves, not just frequent ones
There's something about watching and being a part of the BM community that just feels like we're all in some kind of minimum viable cult whose goal is nothing except to hypnotize you. I like it. #BMFOREVER
I got Myst free a long time ago and just literally felt too stupid to play, so I’ll use this as sort of a tutorial until I feel like major spoilers and then I’ll play myself.
49:29 i'm proud to say i got into yakuza bc of iAN chat, after playing shenmue1, so i understand why people dont get the chill vibes of shenmue. but then again the yakuza community slanders the PS2 yakuza games, so id say it's on them lmao shenmue really walked so yakuza could run
