pls remember that this is purely mysta’s opinion and advice based off his own experience and knowledge. he doesn’t like giving advice that he doesn’t follow himself. 👍🏻

"just start streaming" advice is like "just practice" advice in art, and even if it was a bit of true advice, it's one of the worst pieces of advice and the most answer people give when they get asked about that. as someone who pursued a career in art which is also a job where you create something, mysta's advice is real, especially the part where he said "compare yourself to others", but not just compare and then be depressed but also learn from it, it's one of the ways you gonna grow and gets better.

This is why I love Mysta. He's realistic, smart, honest, and considerate at the same time. When he said that he hates that kind of answer ("just start streaming whatever you want and have fun"), I felt that on spiritual level. I like how serious/in depth his answers are cuz it shows how much he wanna answer his viewers' questions in the most genuine way possible and not treat just treat them with some cheap and unthoughtful sweet talks. Thank you Mysta for sharing your opinions on these matters and thank you Jun for clipping this🧡🦊

Wow. His advice was amazing. Just spitting facts. So straightforward, honest, helpful, smart, realistic, and amazing. I translated this to my future career, which is art. In making art, most people literally just say “just draw” and that’s it. Which is exactly like “just start streaming”. I also really hate the advice of “don’t compare yourself to others” and “be comfortable and have fun”. I’m also a very realistic person and honestly, that advice is just so stupid. All it will do is give them unrealistic expectations and hinder their growth. Especially as an artist, you’re not going to get better if you don’t compare yourself to others. Thank you so much Mysta for sharing you’re wisdom with us.

so true, i think its important to distinguish between hobbyist and professionals though-- some ppl should deeply consider going professional/ making their hobby their jobs bc it does rob a factor of freedom out of it.
@RotheAlien

To be fair, streaming and drawing are different. If you spend all the time comparing your drawing skills to more developed or skilled pr even older artist it will go to your head and it could put you in a bad head space. What people should do when drawing is ANALYZE other styles/techniques etcc analysing why a piece of art is good where its strong points are is key. This can also be directed for streaming but I think when it comes to popularity you also have to really compare what you do with other streamers
@reyreybaebae
@reyreybaebae 2 года назад
@@RotheAlien yes. I agree they are very different. And that’s what I meant with comparing yourself to others. When I do it’s not like “they’re so much better than me I’ll never get there” it’s more like “wow. They are really good at this and I really like the way they do this” and then I learn from it.

as an artist myself, i love exactly what mysta has said; being a content creator takes a lot from you and a big part of it is watching numbers. yes, drawing what you like for yourself and not being bothered by numbers is good, To An Extent. yes, knowing what ur audience likes and catering to what they like or doing something new sometimes is good, To An Extent. the balance is important and u cant always stay in ur comfort zone. caring about numbers isnt bad; it is about learning to balance criticism/observations and feelings in improving your work. mysta has mentioned in his prev streams abt how he isnt rlly as shocked abt stuff like milestone subs bc he monitors how his channel gradually grows (which makes sense as a content creator). he's right! being a content creator isnt just about making content u publish--its actually a lot of learning and getting to know ur audience! audience is the key to content creation and it would be stupid to not take a necessary amt of criticism from ur viewers.
@eggroice
@eggroice 2 года назад
idk but i think i should also add that to whoevers gonna read this, im taking art in college and i can confirm that audience is a very important key to pay attention to! its is literally the first thing they taught us in like content creation or multimedia related stuff (idk what word to use)

another completely sound advice from mysta 🧡 this is why i love him man. the problem is ppl perceive these things (compare yourself to others, having an ego, etc) as solely negative. ppl take this advice extremely n start hindering themselves for it rather than growing from it. which i get, i guess, society now is both extremely anxious and extremely competitive. but what we need to understand is that this realistic kind of advice is GOOD if you wanna do anything professionally or as a career. you NEED to step out of your comfort zone, you NEED to compare yourself to others bc the most important thing about taking a passion as a career is GROWTH. and growth is tough. growth is harsh. growth is uncomfortable. it’s so easy to compare yourself to others and become disheartened bc of it, but in order to grow and stand out you need to stop thinking like that and start taking these comparisons to your advantage. easier said than done, ofc. as someone who wants to stream, i know i’m a victim to it constantly ;p of course, if you’re just doing something as a hobby, just bc it’s fun and you’re not taking it too serious- that’s fine! you don’t have to do all these things. you can just be comfortable. but if you do want to take it seriously: it’s a job. streaming professionally is a job. it’s strategic, there’s a science and business to it. being an entertainer is HARD. but if you dedicate yourself to even the uncomfortable, the boring, the harsh things and grow, it’ll be worth it. i talked a lot LOL but mysta really got me thinking here. ty jun for the clip as always, and to any mystakes or viewers here, good luck with your endeavours 🧡

“Obviously if you’re comparing yourself constantly, and you’re streaming constantly, putting your all into something, and then you’re not seeing the results, you’re gonna feel like that [depressed]” This is so true, I’ve been trying to be a content creator since 2019. I’ve made numerous accounts trying to reach at least 1k. I never got them, I got burnt out and struggled to enjoy making content. It’s true, comparing yourself constantly burns you out. I put my all into content creation and I haven’t even reached 100 subscribers. He’s saying the truth behind content creation. He truly is.
@angelbeats809
@angelbeats809 2 года назад
this is just so true, as a content creator you’re not always going to be doing what you like. like everyone streamed among us for a reason, it was big, it was popular, and some people weren’t all that into it but did it anyways because it was popular. you’re going to have to do a lot of things you like but also don’t like, sadly you can’t just stream what you like and hope you blow up, there’s a way to do these kinds of things and despite what some people think, it is a lot of thinking

but here is the thing though... if everyone starts doing the same thing you end up with over saturated market where everyone is doing the same shit and the viewers are going to notice if the youtuber is just playing it for the views and dont actually likes the game itself, and might not watch or even unsubscribe, or even if the viewers do end uo liking it, we end up in a classic scenario where that youtuber only does derivative content that is already trending, they end up with a lot of "ghost subscribers" you know the ones...1 million subs , but 100k or less in every video so bottom line in my view is that its ok to follow trends and stuff like that, but if you dont develop your identity, or brand of content you might end up nowhere granted specialized content creators sometimes end up losing tons of views and subscribers over time because that content that made them popular is no longer viable because.. times changes (lets players for example, or reaction channels) even youtubers that based in their personalities or things they like to say end up nowhere sometimes because the audience just gets tired of the same guy or the content creator itself end up withou nothing interesting to say every youtuber will soon meet its end , it might take 1, 5 or even 10 years but it happens every time, so i dont blame any of them on being so analytical about trends and whatever because they need to make as much money as possible during this timeframe, because after that its going to tough to find a job when you spent the last few years playing games in the internet but as a viewer i much rather watch someone who has a specific type of content that alligns with mine and is 100% specialized and focused in bringing the best of that content, like mathew matosis (you know before he stopped posting) for example

I love Mysta's thought process and have really been giving it a lot of thought to what he's been talking about in content creation. Even back to when he was giving advice for the Nijisanji auditions, he mentioned his way on what to do and how to handle things and I really respect that. Being a content creator was never an easy job because you constantly have to think about how to grow and reach the audience (unless you're already at the top, but even then). The advice he's giving is very genuine and I think people that want to become streamers/vtubers, myself included, really need to consider what he's saying and carry it with them when they do it

Wow I learn so much today, for a content creator I do agree u cant just take the advice "JUST DO IT, BELIEVE IN URSELF" I mean, dude, you're not an OP anime protagonist whos like having a secret talent or something. Your a normal being who wanna grow as a content creator. Everyone can be a content creator but NOT everyone can GROW as a content creator. At some point if u dont set ur goals like monthly or weekly as a content creator YOU'RE DOOMED. Bro, its not only you that want to be a content creator, BILLION of people want to, and people like something new. If you do the same again and again well dont expect less that you're audience obviously gonna be bored and go to another content creator.😂 Wise realistic advice as always Mysta, I always can count on u for making quotes and good advice. Practically people do think like that in daily life, but because they cant give like an exact word on how to do so they just put it like "TRY UR BEST" but what if my best is still a level of poop comparing to the others? Now thats what u called BE THE BEST not only UR BEST but Best like generally. People can be succesed but not every people can teach u how to succesed.❤❤ SN: I find Mysta "Naur" is very satisfying Gosh..

Honestly, I always take notes whenever Mysta gives advice regarding content creation. There's a reason he's in the company and his growth has been absolutely amazing. It speaks for him. Getting into Nijisanji is only going to get you so far. The rest of it: your growth, your revenue your view and like count, how you fall into the algorhythms and the community you nurture. That is all you. I applied to Nijisanji for the wave Iluna debuted from. It was something I wanted to try at the time, and I did. Looking back on it, getting in probably would have made my life significantly different from what it is now. I will not apply again as of now, but focus on going indie. Going into niji would absolutely not fit as a job right now. Maybe one day in the future (though let's be real, I don't think any of the streamers have any kids but liiiiiiike I kinda want to start having those some time soon XD). I am listening though. His advice is always amazing. He's based for that and I respect his immensely.

This is actually incredibly useful, realistic, practical advice. My respect for Mysta went up SO MUCH after hearing him talk about this - not that I DISrespected him before, but I just liked him as a streamer, y'know? Now I understand what Vox meant when he said that he admired Mysta for being the most serious and informed about making a career as a streamer. My friends and I are thinking of becoming vtubers for fun, but I'm realistic about it - it will never be my career, I don't want to use it as an avenue to collab with my oshis, most streamers don't make it big (even people who later got into Nijisanji weren't always popular pre-Nijisanji), and ultimately my primary purpose is to have fun with friends. I think if you have clear expectations of what you want to get out of streaming, you'll be better equipped to do all the things Mysta said and know what applies to you.

He's right..if you just play the same kinds of things or do the same thing all the time, you might not really grow. Like...I don't give a crap about fps games, but I might consider trying them and having people watch me fail if it brings in viewers, especially because that stuff is pretty popular.

15:43 Yeah, I can somehow relate because whenever I’m just on my PC, I needed to at least talk to myself freely, like, expressing whatever I will. Because if there’s friends that are busy, why not talk to yourself? What’s the worst that can happen, really? 16:08 Agree! Just simply be yourself, you don’t have to put on a facade. Just be yourself.

I'm 9 minutes into the video, but I must say his perspective is really useful and I have to agree to be honest. If you wanna take streaming seriously and grow, you better do your market research, keep up with trends, but also do yourself a favour to not let your ego inflate too much and try to stay grounded. It's always great to see streamers that are humble and don't see themselves or act in any way that would make them different than the regular person or viewer.

While I agree with his main points, I don't agree with why he doesn't agree with the advice of others cause he is basically saying the same thing. Tldr; I think he is reiterating the points he says he disagrees with. Just start streaming is ment to be taken as, you won't know if streaming is for you until you actually put in the time. From there you can then do what he says but you gotta start with the first step of "just start streaming" Don't compare youself with others does not equal to don't learn from others. Comparing is mostly for surface stats like the numbers where as learning is looking deeper at what the numbers mean. Comparing doesn't require effort, everyone compares themselves to someone else. Learning from others requires effort which is what he is talking about.

I agree with you. I do think he makes good points but sometimes some people do overthink these things and might need the proper push to make the first step and test the waters a bit before seriously getting into a hobby (this can be anything from streaming, making music, making art, etc.). If a person is too caught up in perfectionism, that leaves no room for growth either and could lead to burn out as well.

Oho interesting 😏 After watching this clip. I' saw a Millie's clip telling about Vox's giving advice to Yugo(+Millie) and it seems Vox's saying something like: "You don't have to force yourself to do something you're not comfortable with and just do things you're strong at and improve it more." While Mysta's saying that: "Streamers/Content creators should try to do something outside of their comfort zone because that's how you can grow as a content creator." Both of their views were great and right, but it's also quite contradicting or something like that... Idk which is the best one now. 😐 Hmm... 🤔
