The Perforated Road or a band of holes is located not far from the Peruvian town of Pisco, just 160 kilometers away from the Nazca plateau. It is a mysterious structure, the purpose and the authorship of which is still unknown.

Was it an attempt to more intensely feed aquifers during rare bursts of rainfall - they were very clever at managing the aquifers - see puquios. Or a system for harvesting dew?

Catching precipitation this way would be to replenish ground water by preventing run-off (so the holes are soak-aways). It makes sense where rain may be sporadic and at times, torrential.

Idea: The Inca constructed the road as fortification for a field battle with the conquistadores. This would stop a line of galloping horses. Also, long enough to dissuade flanking maneuvers. Now if only their grand strategy had worked...

Once upon a time there was a very wealthy old man with two children. These children were always fighting about everything. When he realized he had little time left, he buried his entire fortune. In his will he left the children two sealed envelopes, one each. In the one he wrote down the latitude of the location. In the other he wrote the longitude. The only way they would ever get their inheritance, was if they worked together. Sadly they never did, but one of them decided to use the information he had, and to dig up the entire length of it, to try and find the treasure. Or at least as much of it as possible. This line of holes is the result of him looking for his inheritance. Now you know. You're welcome.

It looks like the belt runs along the ridge of a rock outcropping that appears different than the adjacent surrounding rock. Someone discovered a desirable mineral on the surface of this rock outcropping. They got lucky. They didn’t have to dig for it. They collected it from shallow holes.

No. You don't dig like this to mine. You also don't build little stone walls to mine. Also please suggest what mineral this may be and why they used it. This is not why. Your idea is so stupid it hardly bears a response. Even a single moments' consideration shows it bunk.

Yeah not to join into an argument but if they'd been strip mining they wouldn't have built little walls inside the holes and wouldn't have made holes in the first place because they'd have stripped all the earth out and left a wide ditch. Digging holes like that would have only gotten them a third or quarter the amount of whatever they were looking for.

Its a GEO-GLYPH like thousands of others across the region Someone with time on their hands Photoshop it up, making crisp rock lined holes, do images with shadows at different times of day, year, can't hurt to start with summer / winter solstices. However it's really spread out on lots of different slopes so more likely no particular time of day or year to view. Look for image that best resembles scales angle that best resembles snake (where speaker was standing at top seems to be a good angle) Zoom on upper end see if any shadows at any time of day create a head or tail - any evidence of eroded pits that might have done so, any nearby natural features it might connect to to form head or tail. It's also possible it's incomplete and was meant to end / connect with something much further away. I thought I saw a parallel set of pits being dug in one view, maybe this was to be one of several snakes. Finally, any snakes in Incan pre Incan cultures, if so get that imagery and compare to this. Archaeology above all takes time. Speaking of archaeology anyone who goes they carefully photo with ruler in scene all pottery all sides and maybe someone can date them online, that would help pin down which culture / myths might be involved and what images it's based on.

They may serve as a means of affecting wind. Similar to dimples on a golf ball. Adiabatic flows might lift moisture laden air too far up to deposit it for them. These would cause the wind to hug the ground.

Wind baffles? This idea makes the most sense in my opinion. The idea of water storage does not make as much sense because it's high on a ridge in a desert and wouldn't collect water, and it wouldn't do much to stop horses of running warriors - why not build a wall for that. Pure genius!

the Incas had very profound knowledge of terrace construction and irrigation. Maybe it was a gold washing place. They could have filled the holes with llama wool to catch the heavy gold. As in Hellenic mythology. This would also explain the large number, the gold content of the sand/mud became higher with each hole and hundreds of Inca washed the gold here. My first thought was it was a Peyotl or Tequila (Agave) plantation.

Tranceiver. The holes would have so called rare earth materials in them positioned in such a way that creates a machine that either levitated matter or transmitted long distances. Likely sun powered or by cosmic energy. A spiritual place that no longer works due of course to vandalism as always. Man as usual is the culprit. Example: Say there is an ancient life preserving teleportation machine found by man. The man does not know what it is nor how to use it. The machine is dismantled and all the rare materials (such as platinum, gold, mercury and crystals...) are removed and used by the man for temporary wealth. Then soon after that the man can just die rather than live because of the man's iniquity. See the answer is just as simple as man.

I read a lot of these comments, and honestly, when I first look at this, all I see is a preliminary survey of the strata of the mountain . So a big machine, with an excavating "drum" or perhaps "scoopers" rolled or walked across this mountain top surveying for minerals . Most of the holes are scooped out except a small few that got dug out more, lined with rocks, and used for graves. when you look at the pattern, it is by far too uniform and precise for hand digging, and far too immense . I would bet that this was done right after the flood / deluge / younger dryas event of 12.500bc, but before the nuclear war of 3200bc . ( The same war that destroyed Puma Punku, the Indus valley and Egypt and Libya as well as most of the middle east . ) This, to me, is the only reasonable explanation . No one, and I don't care how devout, is going to make 7k + holes going through the middle of no where for any "God" or agricultural reason, especially when nothing grows up there, and then make them so precise as what you see here . Again, to me, this was simply more mining operations like you regularly see all over most of south America . Close to this spot there are mountains that have had the entire top taken off, ground or sheared flat for mining / minerals . This to me was simply part of the initial process to see if it was worth taking the whole top of this mountain off .

Think of `we` as your dark side externalised to the personified pain bodies of ongoing generational truama. We are all suffering from trauma based amnesia.

At 8:26 8 minutes 26 seconds into the video there is ANOTHER series of shallow holes/depressions one to two depression wide with about 50 depressions total on the small Ridge line above the large series anyone had a close look at this anomaly?

7,000 holes ? Perhaps 7,000 people made camp for a short time while in migration, shielding them from winds and away from what was in the valleys of that time period?

I believe those holes were made by a ship from the air that is manipulating the frequency and therefore leaving a pattern in the ground. Quite possibly a harvesting operation or testing operation of some sort from the watchers.

judging by the position of the line with the surrounding turrain, ide say not a military line, bad positioning. There probly isnt enough rain at once to create a spring, im thinkin planting or mining...

AZ Native Americans planted agave along, and near washes. They put stones on top of the soil, and around the plant, to hold in the moisture. Shallow, but, dense root base holds moisture. Keeping the plants together, with proper spacing and rows does the job naturally. AZ State Site Steward, for the preservation of archaeological sites. Tyvm!

These are extraterrestrial mineralogical sampling runs, the added wells or stones in some were added later by indigenous people as well as the bones all these things came later.

it occurred to me also - perhaps the grades were different in the past? but any substantial shifting of the grade would cause these to collapse. also such structures are generally build along the contour of the grade, not up and down it

It reminds me a bit of of the ditches & lines of stones that Oxfam encourage villagers in dry regions to construct in order to retain some water in the soil in that area, rather than allowing it all to run away.

On top if a ridge is not the place to construct water retaining catchment in the gullys dams/ catchment walls would work better where the water collects but with less than 1/4 inch (4 mm to be exact) a lot of work for NOTHING...
@sarahstrong7174

@@donaldgoldsmith6804 If you wanted the water to sink into the ground where the holes are, rather than running down into the valleys it would work, providing there was some rain. I now believe this was done in order to facilitate planting of trees & bushes that would provide food & provide shade for further plants. I saw a video of someone doing this & successfully re-greening very arid land & growing food plants although people initially did not believe it was possible to produce food there. Maybe people made this & then were forced to leave by hostilities. The climate may well have changed since this was made, of course.
