I heard for a long time they would photoshop the Pyongyang skyline to remove this hotel because of their embarrassment of not completing it. I'm not sure if they still do or not though.
The reason for them building the hotel wasn’t because South Korea built one…the reason was in 1988 South Korea was hosting the Olympics. Hearing this, North Korea was not happy, so they wanted to host their own Olympics. To do this they would need somewhere for all the athletes and officials from around the world to stay. At this point North Korea wasn’t a cesspool yet it was largely supported by Soviet’s and China so it was still a “surviving” nation…the hotel took so long to try and complete that the Soviet Union collapsed in the time it took…with little support the nation collapse and hence the hotel never finished
So what you’re saying is North Koreans aren’t that smart so they need the south to start something so they can follow along with them? Says so much for a country that hates the SOUTH so much is more like entrigged by what the south does that’s cute
One day North Korea will be at peace with all other states like Japan and America and everyone so we can all just travel even Iran and Pakistan I hope one day we all get peace so we enjoy each others beautiful cultures and views and more importantly the ladies
