This is a great list and all but it's a tad distracting. I was so engrossed in the soundtrack I accidentally opened an ancient seal of sorts in some old ruins I found near Mt. Fuji.

Abyssal Ruins and Reversal Mountain are bangers. Black and White really did have the best soundtrack, and that's saying something since every Pokemon game has good music.

driftveil bridge before distortion world is amazing. driftveil bridge's theme always reminded me of distortion world's, and here it's almost like reality crashed at the bridge haha

Gen 5 had the best vibes in terms of music..... some tunes are intense, upbeat, beautiful, and mysterious. I can listen to the soundtrack and feel like I'm there...... truly something great. Yes I stan gen 5 HARD!

Pokemon, along with The Last Guardian is what made me love ruins, I love the aesthetic as much as the bare idea of the remains of an ancient civilisation, and the music played a lot in it What I love the most is the architecture, especially in The Last Guardian, but Pokemon also has some sick ruins Dragonspiral Tower, Southern Island and Sealed Chamber are the first one that come in mind for me, they give such a great feeling of mystery, it really feels like you're on your own, exploring an ancient undeground ruin filled with memories of the past and secrets Special mention to Temporal Spire from PMD2 I remember when I visited Pompei in Italy, I had the same feeling, and now this has become my favorite part of history ! Thanks for bringing back those old memories

I think that the southern island theme is the most unsettling pokemon music of all time. I would call that "sublime": you are pervaded by a sense of astonishment and you feel so tiny compared to the place

Never realized that the relic forest from colosseum sounds like Shieks theme from OoT. Which reminds me of my favourite moment from that game, playing it at a friends house during the scripted battle between the cipher peon and the old man, the pikachu won yet the old man acted like he lost. very weird.

I swear the soundfront pokemon has, most notably in gen 4 and 5 is just the best. I feel like the 'cleaner' sounds of later games just lost... something, when they improved past that slight mechanical ring their music always had. Kinda fitting since I think the transition from pixel art to 3D was the biggest mistake gamefreak ever made.

I don't think going to 3D was the *biggest* mistake GF has made, but holy hell did I really never like the switch, the 2d sprites against a 3d background made the DS games timeless for me. I still go back to SoulSilver and Black/Black 2 because the atmosphere and design of the games are just so good. Also nostalgia lol

I personally love the ost for the Mainstream Pokémon Games but the only side games I’ve ever played were Pokémon Ranger for the DS and the Demo for PMDRTDX for the Switch and thought they were okay after playing them for a few hours. But I still enjoy some of the ost of the MD games.
