I fuckin love how in the first story, the dude's immediately reaction is not to BURY his beloved dog near his house, but instead throw it into the hole without a second thought. If he didn't want the body to attract bears I guess I get it, but why the hole instantly, lol
Usually the mark of an inexperienced writer. They did do a pretty good job for sure, but they didn't seem to know how to progress the story. Between the bear and throwing the dog in the pit it was a little obvious once the dog died. I think a bit more narrative about a bear problem in the area would have made the dogs death a little more believable. I also think a call from the pit to throw the dog in would better suit the story.
Its between that and the "Don't call the cops to report a dead body lmao" that kind of gave me red flags that things were going to get dumb, because holy hell thats messed up to leave Miguel's family to suffer not knowing. Yeah MK-Ultra existed, however it's incredibly stupid to make the assumption that because there's a weird hole the gubment is going to murder you for it. Never going to understand why stories go so hard with that direction with supernatural elements, always makes the characters come off as batshit to me or as a really annoying writing trope.
LMAO, the first story is written by someone who listened to Art Bell. One of the most famous Coast to Coast AM episodes was Art bringing on a guy named Mel who found a bottomless pit on his property, known as Mel's Hole. This story uses both names and a ton of the same exact descriptions of hole and the things being put in the hole are the same. The burning ice in the furnace, the dead dog coming back, all from Mel's Hole.
because these are one off stories that you don't need any background knowledge and usually don't have any part twos or any fan stuff, no super memorable characters, just, a quick spooky story. Some people want to go down a rabbit hole of Ben Drowned or Laughing Jack, but sometimes you just want to listen to something that has no commitment attached to it.
I had a pitbull named Peaches that i had to put down two years ago - it devastated me so much that my friends got me a life size recreation of her so I could start sleeping properly again. When I heard about the Peaches in the story, I thought it was gonna be a rough ride. ...And then THAT happened, and I had to pause the video and just take a moment. And then when she came back... Well, I'm gonna cuddle up to my Peaches recreation (I named her Plum) tonight. Besides the emotional damage, it was a bit clunky of a story; That's not how people talk, and that's certainly not how people would react. I could maybe see an endless pit in a small town not getting talked about or reported, because I lived in a small town, and people there really keep the oddities within the town limits lol
Except in pet semetary he was actually helpful, and this one just ranted about MK Ultra and tried to hide someone dying on the property because gubment bad lmao
The last story is so terrifying cause if it is a ghost it makes you feel insane and if you are insane you’re convinced it’s a ghost. It’s such a terrifying concept
At first the ghost has actually being helpful. Folding clothes and stuff. Usually praying for it's salvation and being grateful and kind helps you alot.
Isn't that first story just a loose retelling of Mel's hole merged with Pet Semetary? Just realized one of the characters is literally named Art after Art Bell from Coast to Coast AM where the story was told.

Last story is just a polish kid pissing off a kind ghost. And then getting the price. Ghost was trying to make it's worth make his house neat and nice. But it just made the guy ungrateful. Gee kids these days. Just pray light candles and tell the ghost your grateful be friendly and pray for it to find salvation. ❤m😭🫡
