This time of year go to fletchers cove. Head down the trail so the river is on your left. Go past the two clearings most people fish at and theres a fallen tree then a smaller path used mostly by bikes. Keep going then you'll see a large clearing with shorter brush. Go through that you'll find rocks starting to jutt out. Theres one that goes out farther you gotta climb on and has like a seat worn in out of the rock. That spot holds 50 pounders in the fall.

1rod my condolence for yoru loss , we support you , 1 thing i love about you is that youre not afraid to show your crazyness with your audience which makes me feel better to know that i can get crazy while fishing , quick tip if you tak off both flappers on the craw then turttles might eat that cause last year in december i was fishing and every time i made a cast and reeled in the turttles would be searching and giving chase as if it was food that was 1 thing i learned fast

Idk if you have a kayak, but up the river under the big bridge is a good spot to put in. Lots of parking spots and a path worn out to put it in at. Great fishing in that part of the Potomac

The best fishing in that area is fall for striper on a kayak when the flow is slow enough, up river past the rocks as far as you can go without getting out of your kayak. Getting out will get the law on you who is watching 24/7 above you on the south wall.
