This is honestly one of the best edits, I've listened to one with rain edits and those soothe me but the summer aspect to this makes my heartache. This song really brings back old memories but I can now think about them with joy, though I will forever long for the connection both he and I shared. I do want to cry but I'm in zoom class -

i met him at the begining of freshman year. i had a crush on him the whole school year, only realized I loved him that may. we spent all summer together, nearly every day walking, swimming, sunbathing, just us. we watched call me by your name together, my first viewing. he held me as i cried, and everytime i think of that movie or hear this song im taken back to that summer. he was my first love. he didn't reciprocate it, and after a beautiful, dreamlike summer, fall came. that october we fought, I barely remember why, but we haven't spoken since. im a junior now, it took months of mourning, but ive moved on. today is the one year mark from our falling out, so much has changed, but ill always hold that summer with him in my memories.

I remember everything

We met in September of last year. We sat next to eachother for lunch, and we both knew this was going to be different. We were so in love. We'd dance in his bedroom to old vinyl records, we'd talk on the phone for hours and hours. He was my first time. I've never felt so safe, so loved, like i did with him. Unfortunately, we parted ways in March. Even to this day i'm so incredibly in love with him, we still go to the same school too. Sometimes i'll think that it's over, we're over, and then i see him in the hallway and my heart stops. Every time i see his handsome face, i just become a teenage boy that's stupidly in love. I'm still waiting for him, and i'll wait for as long as it takes.

August slipped away like a bottle of wine

we spent a week in the woods together backpacking at camp, from the very first moment i never felt nervous or awkward around him. it was like we were old friends reconnecting. our universes crossed in that week, then parted again. we were supposed to see each other again this year but covid cancelled it. he lives in another country and has a girlfriend. every time he texts me my heart breaks more because i don't know if i'll ever connect with someone like that again:(

This summer is about to end and a year ago, with the end of the summer, life led me to met a wonderful person. I knew that he would be in that party and he knew that I would be there too. I was excited, I remember my friend messaging me about him while I was on my way to that place, and I can remember all the butterflies that were coming out of my whole body. He had to leave before midnight, but he waited for me until I arrived. I can tell we were nervous, I remember his hands and his eyes. Since that day we talked for a while, some dates, some hugs, never a kiss, and all the plans. He had a huge place in my feelings. We no longer talk, he stopped answering me, that destroyed me because I had a lot of hope and illusions deposited in what we were. It took me a lot of work to get where I am today. And I still remember him as the wonderful person he is. We are not meant to be something else. This song, this day, brought back the memories, and I can finally say that the memories it brought back are the prettiest memories, finally no more pain.

we were so intertwined. we had no idea it was a twist of fate. everyone around us that knew stared in wonder, at how poetic it was. I don’t have a summer lover but this song brings me back to a period of quarantine (March-may). It was the first time I watched the movie. I remember just being touched by the music and scenery

The intensity of love portrayed in the novel as well as the movie is what makes this song so exquisite, that I can't help but close my eyes and feel it .

We spent the whole summer together. We skated together, explored the city at night, walked in the forest, explored a creepy little cemetery, we exchanged letters, watched CMBYN together, we like the same music, we danced and sang together. I’ve been in love with her for almost two years now. And she loves me too... But I fucked up. I didn’t treat her right and now we’re falling apart. I was selfish and over-dramatic. I focused too much on my pain to care for her and she probably deserves better. Still, I remember our first kiss. It was pitch black in her room when I kissed her, so I sang « oh to see without my eyes, the first time that you kissed me » and then I complained about how awful was the white noise in her room and sang « white noise what an awful sound... » we laughed and we were happy. And i miss her.

I literally need summer so bad, we get like 2 hours of sunlight a day, I just want to go to the beach with my friends, listen to music, feel the hot sun, smile at my crush, dance in the warm rain, sleep outside, be out until 2am. I miss summer so fkn much

this reminds me of my summer romance. It was short and for some reasons we couldn't take the best out of it. When I was on the plane I bursted in tears because I felt so overwhelmed. For the first time in my life I felt so sad leaving my parents hometown because I knew I wouldn't see him again and if I did things would be different. We texted each other for a while when I came back, but as friends. He can't stand a long distance relationship and he's probably going back to his ex girlfriend. I still like him and I'm probably falling in love (which scares me a lot) but what makes me really sad is thinking about how things would have been if some things didn't happen when we were together...

Sitting outside on her porch, she started to think about him. He had died 3 years ago, but she couldn't help but think of him every single waking moment. She knew he would die at one point, but not then. She needed him the most. They had grown old together, and knew this would happen, but why now. She couldn't help but think of when it was all alright. When they first met.. They were 16, very young, and free. She was walking through the hallways of the new school when she met him. It was like a spark went through her body, as they both bumped into each other. "I'm so sorry!" She squeaked out, but he had just smiled. "That's alright, but be more careful next time." He responded, then reaching into his pocket. "Here, my number. Call me." And like a flash, he was gone. She smiled at the note and kept it with her throughout the day. And indeed, she did call him. They went on many dates and did everything together. They fell for each other fast, and soon he asked her out. Soon, they were engaged. Soon, they bought their first house. Soon, they had children. But it all felt like nothing. Nothing at all. Not when he was gone, not when he had passed. "Grandma, grandma!" She awoke to her granddaughter waving at her. Smiling, she went to greet her. "Hello, dear!" She said as she walked towards her. Either way, she knew it would be okay. They would be together soon.

this dearly reminds me of my own last summer love, I remember waiting everyday to see a glimpse of his figure in the halls, i clearly remember locking eyes with him every time we passed by and never letting go of the connection for 15 seconds--tho it felt like an eternity, i remember talking to him and trying to communicate with him in every way possible but clearly denying that I had taken a liking for him, I remember feeling the joy of him opening up to me but soon realizing that his heart was taken by another, tho i felt it deep inside me that hes taken a liking to me too, he chose her. I know he regrets not appreciating my meer existence but, some things aren't meant to last, some things aren't meant to always burn a part of your soul in a daily basis. fate either makes us grow or settle. ive always loved call me by your name, the movie and the book- it really touched a part of my soul, it was played with gentleness and written with such passion that it touched everyone's deep and darkest parts of their souls. this edit is lovely :))

We met in the cold daylight of November last year. He was the most polite, sweet and caring guy I've ever met. Time flew by when I was with him, and I felt so safe opening up to him about my life and my struggles. He was the best listener, and I felt so alive with him. Every time we were apart he was all I could think of. Unfortunately I didn't ever find out if he felt the same about me, as nothing really romantic ever happened between us. But there was a connection, in all the moments we shared drinking tea, listening to music at 3 am, and just wandering around in the city. I felt like he was everything I needed. I has butterflies every night I tried to sleep while texting him. We went to the asian store to buy some noodles, and every time I eat them he is all I can think of. He also encouraged me to pursue my dreams and make art, for which 'I'm forever grateful to him. We went to see a movie together and we had wonderful time, but that night turned out to be the last time I ever saw him. We drifted apart, and I felt like there was nothing I could do about it. After 8 months I still think about him, his chocolate brown eyes and the kindest smile someone has ever given to me. One of my biggest regrets is not telling him I had fallen in love with him. I don't know if he remembers. I remember everything.

To the person who read this, It’s been hard for you, I know, and it makes me sad that you don’t see yourself in the way I see you. Sometimes they are things in life that cause us to loose ourselves, and the way you have is so unimaginable painful. I miss your smile, the way your eyes light up the whole room just by the sound of your laughter. I miss the way you accepted the way you look in the mirror without cursing yourself out about how ugly you look. I miss the way you didn’t think of yourself as a failure because everyone makes mistakes, we all have flaws and we all aren’t perfect. It’s painful to see that no one around you seems to see the pain trough your eyes, but, stranger, I do, I see how heavy your heart is and how comforting the sadness for you might be, how afraid your heart is of happiness because it disappears in the end, right? I remember when I was 16. My family had a holiday home in Greece, we'd go there every year for the summer. It was a beautiful house, so many great memories there. A few years back, I met a boy there. He was so much more than handsome, we instantly became so close. We'd sneak off at night to go swimming in the sea, we'd weave tapestry together. He lit my soul up, he made me feel like I was a goddess. The friendship soon became something more, we kissed on the beach and ever since then I fell more and more in love. He was my first time and I was his. He taught me Greek, and he invited me over to his family for dinner every weekend. I was the happiest I'd ever been in my entire life, but everything has to end. When summer was over I remember us both crying our eyes out having to sperate. I never even got his number. A year later we went back, to my surprised he had moved house, basically to the other side of the world. America. That's when I realised how precious love was because I knew I'd never see him again.

the movie call me by your name literally changed my life. before i watched it i was literally in my worst state and after i watched it i was genuinely happy.

So when I was reading the second book, and Elio is describing his memories of his time with Oliver... in my head I heard a slowed down, possibly instrumental version of this song playing (since when they make the movie, there had BETTER be a slowed down, possibly instrumental version of this song somewhere), and this is pretty damn close to what I was picturing. This song f*cks with me since I saw this film with my now ex, and it's heavy.

It reminds me of my best friend. We have spent so many summers together and truly, if she wasn’t in my life, the sun wouldn’t really shine. At least not on me. She has opened my eyes to friendship, true and pure love, beauty and life. She is so beautiful, outside and out. Thanks to this video I feel like I could reminisce each time I saw her smile. This makes me reminisce how happy I was with all of my friends and how much I loved them. I was so sure I would have the same friend group till i died. But it all ended. Now all i have are the memories of staying up all night on ft with them playing video games, laughing, and having deep conversations. Then falling asleep on facetime and waking up the next day feeling well rested knowing you weren’t alone through the night. Then doing the same every night. I ruined my sleep schedule for them and I don’t regret it a single bit. I regret not appreciating having a group of people I love enough. You never know how much you love and needed them until they were gone. I started gaining confidence last year and I loved myself and it made me love everything around me and be so happy and positive, it all fell apart though when one of the girls that was insecure in the group grew jealous of me. She was always manipulative, rude, and toxic but I loved the other people in the group too much to give them up. I tried confronting the other friends and they told me they just ignore it and that’s just her personality. I moved on until one day she blatantly insulted me and everything about me. It didn’t destroy my confidence what hurt the most was the fact she would do such a thing. I left for good and the other friends texted me said that it was uncalled for I thought they had my back but they continued to be friends with her. Falling into her manipulation. I told them she is going to hurt them sooner or later in an unforgivable way. I hung other with the other friends and she left and was ignoring them. I believed that they realized she only cared about herself at that point. I spent a few months after that without them and I grew. I gained new friends that were real friends. I continued my life until they added me back to the groupchat without that girl but they still added me back. They had a few convos every now and then but it slowly died. But as I was reading their conversations I slowly realized they didn’t change. I grew out of this time in my life. I still love them but it doesn’t feel the same with them. The chat is dead silent now. And I sit here remembering all of the good times we had, wishing I was still in that time of my life, but also glad I am a better person now.

People are always like "thinking about the boyfriend I don't have" "romance I never had" "love I never lived" but when you actually get with someone that you think it's your partner, friend and lover, and he disappoints you so bad you feel empty inside and that everything is dead.
